You Are the Hero You've Been Waiting For Jun 17, 2020
    Show notes

You Must Be the Hero of Your Story… “There comes a time when you gotta keep moving.” -Bugzy Malone, Artist I was listening to a song from one of my new favorite artists today (Bugzy Malone) and he said that phrase and it really got me thinking about the struggles and sense of overwhelm that many people are facing right now in their lives. He also went on to say, You Can’t Look at a Problem, You Gotta Look Thru the Problem Agree 100%. So what does the really mean and how do you start to look past your problems in order to move forward in your life…but also move forward in a BIG way? Well, I think it means you need to make a decision to Become the Hero of Your Story. You’ve probably heard this phrase before but it’s time you really gave it some serious consideration. What does it mean to Be the Hero of Your Story? What would the hero of your story look like? How would the hero of your story of life act, show up and manage the problems you are facing? The bottom line is, whether you believe it or not, you are the author and the main character in your life’s story. And…you have the ability to write the next chapter. Your thoughts, intentions, actions, and strategy will determine the results you will see over the coming months. The Hero of your Story needs to be the one to Show up, Step up and Conquer the fears, challenges and obstacles that life has presented to you. But, here is the catch… You cannot pretend to be the Hero. You must actually Decide and Act like the Hero. The Key is to remember that even Heros have setbacks. Even Heros can have a comeback. In order to become the Hero that you were meant to be, you need to adopt values, disciplines and actions that Your Hero would adopt. Let me suggest just a few… Keep Your Eye on the Mission This is your vision. If you are looking at the problem you will not be able to find the solution. If your head is down, you can’t see where you are going. Keep your head up, and stay clear on the goals, dreams and desires that you have for your Future. But, this means you need to have a clear vision, so Write it down. Write down what you want your life to be like and get clear on what you will do to make that happen. Most importantly, have a vision so big that is overshadows the problems you are facing. The key to success is not asking for less or smaller problems. The key is asking for enough strength and vision that is bigger than your problems. Then you will develop the skills and talents and experience to handle even greater challenges. Stop Giving Energy and Focus to the Past A True Hero, Your Hero, doesn’t stay focused on the past let failures. The past does not define you. It should only Empower you because you are NOT that person any more. You are the new person that has learned from the past. You are the more experienced, the more dedicated, the more driven person that exists in the present. So, like Rocky said, “its not how many times you get knocked down that counts. It’s how many times you get knocked down and get back up that defines you”. Be the person (and the hero) that will never quit. The person that doesn’t ever stay down. Learn How to Create Momentum Go back and listen to the podcast last week on momentum, but I want to emphasize here that, if you learn to create momentum, you will be UNSTOPPABLE. The Hero of your story is absolutely Unstoppable. You can create momentum for yourself by simply aligning with yoru Unique Talents, Setting Huge goals, Removing Distractions, Finding your sources of Energy, and Leveraging the Power of the Mastermind. With momentum on your side, you can overcome even the biggest challenges, so find ways to create energy and momentum in your life and break through to new heights. Its by operating outside your comfort zone and pushing into the unknown that you will find your greatest joys and rewards. Know the Journey will be Long Listen, you just like any other hero are not perfect. You will fail at times. You will do and say the wrong things at times. You won’t have all the answers and things won’t always go according to plan. But, trust yourself. Trust your ability to learn and adapt rather than trusting in the outcome. Trust and have faith in the process rather than the end goal. Be a person of decision, commitment and conviction and then trust that you will be taken in the right direction. You see when we let go of the outcome and learn to embrace the journey, we are much better able to handle what the story of life throws in our path. If you are not open to detours and new paths, then you will be focused on the wrong things when the objective is just to create, live and enjoy your life. The journey you begin is based on your current perception of what you want and how you will write the story. But, as you grow, your journey can take on many new and exciting paths to help you become the true Hero and fulfill your destiny. Know that Being Stuck is Temporary Just like a path in the forest or a map you are following for directions, sometimes you will make a wrong turn and get stuck. Sometimes the path you take will lead you in the wrong direction. When that happens, just know that making a course correction is ok and being stuck is only temporary. Getting upset or distracted with being stuck or lost only drains you of the energy you could be using to accomplish your task. Course correct and keep moving forward. Again, Bugzy Malone, “Keep moving, Losing, Keep Moving, Losing…” Even Heros have setback. It’s the drive and determination of a Hero that overcomes that battle. Make a decision and a commitment today to Be the Hero. Be the one you are hoping to show up and rescue you. Be the one who will create and manifest your future. Only you can make it happen and only you have the power to Be the Hero of Your Story.

Quote of the day… Only those who will risk going too far, can possibly find out how far one can go…T. S. Elliot I have had many conversations lately with individuals wondering why they are not moving forward with their lives and why they are unable to create the changes they so desperately want. It reminds me of an episode of the Daily Mastermind I did about a year ago titled What’s Holding You Back. So, I thought I would take you through that episode again today in an attempt to help you think about what it will take to get you to overcome what’s holding you back and start pushing you toward your greatness. There is so much opportunity available to you right her and right now in our marketplace. But, you must be wiling to be honest with yourself as to what is holding you back and be willing to do the hard work required to free you from these challenges. With that, I hope you enjoy this flash back to an episode where we discuss this question. Have an amazing day. George Wright III

    Let's Get Some Clarity Jun 02, 2020
    Show notes

I recently read a great blog post from one of my favorite authors on Zenhabits. He wrote an article on the power of clarity. For some some reason, this topic of Clarity has been a consistent message for me lately. I have been seeking better clarity and I seem to see this topic wherever I go. I guess this is a great example of how you mind works. I know that many of you, like me, have lots and lots of craziness, responsibilities, priorities and things going on in your life. Sometimes clarity is about finding direction and sometimes its just about finding a center point in your life that you can feel will keep you going when you feel overwhelmed. But, ultimately I believe that Clarity is a critical ingredient to finding health, wealth and happiness in your life. Brenden Burchard lists Seeking Clarity as the #1 Habit that High Performers have and I have heard the emphasis on Clarity from most every thought leader or mentor I have had over time. So, my message to you today is to simply BE AWARE of Clarity in your life. Seek Clarity and Strive for Clarity in everything you do. I’d like to read you this article that I pulled from the Zen Habits Blog in hopes it might help you create awareness and focus on finding clarity in your life and your daily activities… The Power of Getting Clarity Before I started Zen Habits, I was in a place in my life where I had a beautiful family, but I was stuck and dissatisfied with myself. I knew I wanted to change things — my health, finances, job, way that I was approaching life — but I didn’t really know what I wanted to do about any of it. Most of the time, I just ignored all of this, and distracted myself. I didn’t have any clarity on what I wanted or what I needed to do. This lack of clarity is felt in all of us very deeply, so that it shows up in how we talk, how we hold ourselves, how other people feel us. It affects our relationships, our jobs, our health. Then I got very clear that I needed to change. There were so many areas of my life i wanted to do differently. Clarity helps us to focus, to take action, to feel energized. A lack of clarity causes stress, inaction, a scattered focus, relationship difficulties, confusion on teams. Some examples of areas to find clarity in:

    • Your mission in life
    • Your morning routine
    • Your financial plan
    • What you need to do to improve your relationship
    • How you’ll get healthier
    • What others expect of you; what you expect of them
    • How a meeting will be run
    • What your boundaries are in each relationship
As you can see, this is a pretty broad topic — it can apply to every part of our lives. And we don’t have to be perfect, and we don’t have to get clarity on everything this week. It’s something to bring awareness to, that we can improve over time. But the more we find clarity, the more we’ll have focus, calm, motivation. How to Get Clarity OK, great … we want to get clarity in our lives … how do we do that? I’ll share some things I’ve learned for finding clarity:
    1. Create some space. When we’re unclear on something (how we should reach a goal, for example) … most often we put it off instead of getting any clarity. Instead, try creating some space to get clarity. Carve out an hour. Half a day. A weekend. (Depending on how big the thing is that you need clarity on.) Then do the things below. But carve out the space.
    2. Journal, iterate. Write about what you need clarity on — it doesn’t have to be any solid answers, or any kind of coherent writing. Just let your thoughts pour out. Stream of consciousness. Just give yourself space to reflect.
    3. Meditate & contemplate. Similarly, you can go out in nature and spend some time in solitude. Go for a walk. Sit on a rock. Meditate. See what comes up for you. Hold one question in your mind: “What do I want here?” Or something like that. See if anything emerges as you hold the question.
    4. Talk to others. Share your thoughts with others. Share what you’re not sure about. What you’re afraid of. Hear their thoughts. Just the act of talking it out is valuable — you’re giving space for your thoughts and feelings, and having them heard. Often you can get clarity from a good conversation.
    5. When you have a little clarity, write it down. If you have some kind of answer, any kind of clarity at all, write it down as simply as you can. Two sentences. Putting it down simply helps it become more clear. And then you can1 start to take action on it.
    6. Take action to get clarity. Many people think they need to have clarity before they take action, but it often happens the other way around. Have the slightest bit of direction? Go in that direction, take the first steps, see what it’s like. You’ll learn more from doing than going back and forth on things. For example, as I started working on my mission, I got clearer and clearer that this is what was meaningful for me, but I also got clearer on how I’d go about doing it. Maybe in a couple years, I’ll have even more clarity, but I’m not going to wait for that in order to take action. Start moving, and learn from that.
    7. Reflect after you take action & get clearer. As you set things in motion, it’s useful to step back every month or two to see how things are going. What have you learned? What’s getting in the way? Use what you’ve learned to get even more clarity. Write it down simply. Take action again.
And repeat. What areas of your life need clarity? How is the lack of clarity affecting you and those around you? Are you ready to create the space to get the clarity? It is my hope that you will Prioritize Clarity in Everything you do. Make sure you are aware of the need for clarity and that you identify the areas of your life that clarity can help you create an even better life. Also, I would ask and encourage you to share this message of clarity and share this podcast with anyone you feel would benefit from it. Send me some feedback and let me know how you are doing so I can provide you with resources like that that will help you on your journey. Thanks for listening to the podcast and thank you for being a valued member of The Daily Mastermind Community. Have an amazing day. George Wright III

Your Mind Needs Training from Brendon Burchard May 28, 2020
    Show notes

Today I want to share some thoughts from an Amazing thought leader named Brenden Burchard. He has written many many books and had millions and millions of views on his online videos. He is truly a gifted thought leader I have learned a ton of stuff from that I implement in my own life. His book High Performance Habits is right on my desk most of the time. He has written many articles and has some great thoughts on Conditioning Your mind. He says, We have automatic thoughts and behaviors all the time, but... -not a matter of reprogramming….JUST TRAINING We just struggle to Mastermind our Mind... -it feels out of control -it feels negative all the time, etc How are thoughts generated… 2 systems of thoughts 1-automatic from past experiences…the brain loves to automate and optimize -usually not helpful….they are just automatic 2-conscious mind when you are mature and directing your thoughts (most dont) -highest…peak performers are AWARE and CONSCIOUS of their thoughts -they want positive, empowering, confident thoughts (NOT) just protective thoughts *How do you develop these strong thoughts into automatic thoughts….RWID Framework relative weight of importance and duration NOTE-people that have lots of negative thoughts are creating the automatic negative because of the frequency and focus they have on negative thoughts. -repetition cause them to come back over and over and quicker and quicker…they weight and duration cause them to be auto. *must apply this same weight and duration to positive thoughts if you want to train your mind. STEP 1 BE aware of your thoughts…check in often…make it routine…not just when they are negative STEP 2 IF Negative…Redirect it immediately…You can redirect by questioning your thoughts…question the opposite. -visualize the positive and stay stuck on that for a period of duration and weight Untethered Soul…Become the nuetral observer….this is the ACT THAT EMPOWERS YOU…TRY IT

    • You feel that thing.
    • You sense it.
    • You sense what your next step would be.
    • You sense how it would feel if the outcome would be better.
    • How would it feel emotionally, psychologically, spiritually for that thing?
Allow it to have a lot of emotion. Pay attention to it with your eyes closed. You see that thing, you feel it and sense a different step, you know what you’re going to do, you pay attention to it and you keep focusing on that over a period of minutes. Focus, give attention, duration and sensation to positive thinking. Attention, duration, sensation. Attention, duration, sensation. Repeat this process….You either give the time to negative or positive…BUT you decide ultimately Exercises to get you started First, write down five positive questions that you’re going to ask yourself three or four times a day. Every day you’re going to read these questions to yourself and answer them. They can be questions like…
    • What can I feel incredibly grateful for right now?
    • How could I surprise somebody right now?
    • How could I have fun right now?
    • How could I demonstrate love or excellence right now?
Do this for 30 days and you will recognize a total shift in your life. Second, come up with three words that describe your ideal self. Mine are “present, excited and bold.” Focus on those questions three times a day as well. Put them on your phone where they come up as an alarm three different times during the day. Sounds simple but most of you wont do it, which is why most don't get results… The more you focus. The more you practice. The more it becomes automatic. The BATTLE of your mind is exactly that…a BATTLE. Don’t go into battle or the GAME every day without a strategy, a game plan, a practice. Start Consciously Creating the Life you want by “Creating” the life you want…got it? I hope that helps you, and more importantly, I hope you will implement these thoughts and strategies from an amazing thought leader, Brenden Burchard.
