    The Corie Weathers Podcast

Corie Weathers is a licensed counselor who has spent two decades sitting with people in the middle of hard things. Marriages under strain. Families carrying more than anyone outside the house can see.

This podcast is that same conversation, opened up. Corie talks with guests, and sometimes straight to you, about marriage and connection, parenting through change, faith, mental health, and the culture we are all trying to live in right now. You get clinical insight without the clinical distance, and you leave with something you can use this week.

Corie is the author of Military Culture Shift and Sacred Spaces, and a licensed professional counselor and board certified coach. She was one of the Mighty25 Influencers of 2024 and the 2015 Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year for her work with service members, families, and military academia. Each season takes its own shape. This one is simple and conversational, closer to how these talks actually happen at a kitchen table.

Finding Peace in Impossible Choices. Joe Byerly & Clint Boling Jun 01, 2026
    Show notes

What do you do when two things you love pull you in opposite directions?

In this episode of Restored, Corie Weathers sits down with Joe Byerly, a retired Army lieutenant colonel and founder of From the Green Notebook, and Clint Boling, a former NFL player for the Cincinnati Bengals. Both men faced defining crossroads in their careers — moments where they could push for one more tour, one more play, one more shot at glory. But each realized the cost was too high.

Joe’s decision came after 20 years in uniform, leading through wars, deployments, and the heavy responsibility of command. Clint’s came in the form of a life-threatening blood clot that forced him to consider whether football was worth risking his future.

Their stories reveal a universal truth: the hardest battles are often inside us. Choosing between ambition and family, career and health, identity and transformation can feel impossible. Yet, as Joe and Clint show, choosing peace is not surrender. It’s courage. It’s the decision to align your values with your life and to finish one story well enough to begin another.

Join us for a conversation about conflict within ourselves, the cost of relentless striving, and the grit it takes to pivot toward what matters most.

If you have a story of your own about reconciliation, transition, or choosing peace, record a short voice memo and send it to corie@corieweathers.com or find all links here: https://linktr.ee/corieweathers

S6 E26: Finale Breathing Life Back into YOU. Dec 04, 2021
    Show notes

What a year. Didn't we say that about 2020? Here we are ending 2021 and some of us are still feeling like we are crawling along. After a year of deployment, reintegration, some tough circumstances, and the world opening back up, I really had to take a look at whether I had enough "life" in me to truly breathe life into others. The more I traveled, the more I realized so many other service families were feeling the same. In fact, very few could tell me what "self-care" actually looked like for them (if they had time to do it).

So... for this finale, I cover what you said in the end-of-year survey (you can still take it here). There are some very interesting things going on for serving spouses vs supporting spouses. There are also hints at how the last two years have impact you and our service culture. I also share how I turned my life around and learned to implement some key self-care strategies in my life. Don't know where to start?? I'll walk you through how to find activities that breathe life into you and then how to fit it into your daily life in a way that will make sure it happens.
