[Biz 016] DO THIS to make your biz stand out Nov 06, 2019
    Show notes

The online biz space is NOISY. There's ONE thing you need to focus on in order to stand out above the crowd. There are, obviously, a number of reasons why business owners don't make it. One of the BIGGEST reasons is that they're too vanilla, too afraid to make waves, and too afraid to niche down. Ultimately, this all boils down to having the balls to go against the grain, having a clear message and offer that DOESN'T speak to everyone, and learning how to create a compelling case for your offer. The difference for you might seem subtle, but it'll have a HUGE impact.

165: Phone Boundaries & reclaiming our time Nov 05, 2019
    Show notes

Do you have boundaries with your phone? Or is it just permanently attached to your hand, and without even thinking about it you're always quick to respond to texts, social media pings, or mindlessly scrolling as you fill in every single gap of your day? What I'm really leaning into is the thought that my time is sacred. All of our time is. Am I honoring that by being available 24/7 to everyone and everything? Am I honoring my own time by scrolling IG every time I'm bored or waiting somewhere? On today's episode, I share what my new phone boundaries are (I'm working on them!), why I have them, and other phone habits that I've been implementing so that one day, when I'm in my 90's, I don't think about all the time I wasted by being on my phone. Maybe you need this reminder, too :)

[Biz 015] Make sure your biz coach had success before becoming a biz coach Oct 30, 2019
    Show notes

Huh? Yeah. Make sure your business coach had success in business before becoming a business coach. If you're wondering how this could not possibly be common sense- you'll want to be sure to tune in. There's something business coaches don't want you to know- and I'm totally spilling the beans. You deserve to be informed about where your biz coach has been and WHY they decided to become a biz coach in the first place... Is it because there's more money to be had when it comes to selling biz coaching OR is it because they've built a successful business from the ground up and have the tools, insight, and experience to coach you on? Interesting to think about, right? We're diving head first into all of this inside this episode!

164: Resilience: Who are you when stuff gets tough? Oct 29, 2019
    Show notes

Who are you when you meet adversity? Sure- we could say "everyone is resilient so long as they keep going!" but I see it differently- I don't think it's that simple. Resiliency speaks to who you are and how you respond to failure and difficulty. Complaining, victim mindset, quitting, etc. are not resilient mindsets. People who only stay within their comfort zone so as to never experience failure or discomfort are not resilient. People who quit are not resilient. Do you have what it takes to intentionally pursue discomfort and failure? Do you have what it takes to see who you are when shit gets tough?

163: Movement is medicine- but not the way you think it is Oct 22, 2019
    Show notes

"Movement is medicine" is something people throw around all the time, but really have no idea what this means or what it looks like. If you're sedentary, then yes- your body will benefit from starting to move more intentionally and regularly. If you're already active and wondering why your body hurts outside of normal soreness and thinking that hitting the gym more or just going for walks is going to cure you because "movement is medicine"- then we've got some learning to do. Not all movement is exercise but all exercise is movement. And not all movement nor all exercise is medicinal. It's way more complicated than that. You need to understand (or work with someone who understands) how the body and each of its components are designed to move. Then you need to assess (or worth with someone who can assess) how your body is currently moving, where it's limited, and start to work on restoring proper movement so that "movement is medicine" can be applied correctly.

162: How to start feeling better about almost everything Oct 15, 2019
    Show notes

You can start feeling better about damn near everything in your life. It starts with a choice- but it's WAY more complicated than that. It's not enough to just say "I'm going to choose to feel better!" Sometimes that can work- but usually not. Hence why shit starts to feel awful. Things like: -The fact that your partner can never load the dishwasher -Your Tinder date won't text you back right away -Your back hurts, your knees hurt- WHY IS YOUR BODY LIKE THIS! -Your best friend is ALWAYS late for your coffee dates -You're late for work -You're stuck in traffic -Your plane was delayed -WHY DID SHE SAY THAT? -Why did she say it LIKE THAT? Right? So many things cause us a cascade of emotions, and before we know it- we're completely unaware of why we're mad, why we're sad, why we feel the way we feel. You can start to feel better about damn near everything in your life- it just takes this ONE THING. And of course, we're deep diving into this one thing on today's episode. I hope you tune in :)

[Biz 014]: What are your dial movers? Oct 09, 2019
    Show notes

In business, EVERYTHING FEELS LIKE A FIRE that needs to be put out immediately. Before you know it, you've worked all day long and feel like you have nothing to show for it. I know this feeling because I've been there plenty of times- and sometimes still find myself there from time to time even these days. Every time I feel like my business is a series of massive fires that need tending to, it's because my priorities haven't been set up straight. When I know what my dial movers are and what requires my most immediate attention, I can manage both my time and energy a hell of a lot better so that I'm making sure what needs to get done is getting done, and realize that not everything needs to get done today or even tomorrow. Talk about creating some breathing room, right? If everything in your biz feels like a fire, this one's for you!

    161: Are you a people pleaser? Oct 08, 2019
    Show notes

Today's episode is gonna BLOW. YOUR. MIND. What is people pleasing ACTUALLY coming from? What does it ACTUALLY mean? And what can you do about it?

160: Getting over your fear of the scale Oct 01, 2019
    Show notes

I know the bathroom scale triggers you. You avoid it at all costs, maybe it'll just... all go away. Maybe you'll forget how much you hate your body if you just never weigh yourself again. Guess what? This is a shitty strategy. It's not about the scale. It's about your associations with it. This episode turns your relationship with the bathroom scale upside down on its head. If you're triggered by the scale, this one's for you! PS- if you're listening to this in real time, the link in my IG bio is UP! Diet Culture Drop Out is open for enrollment- a body image + intuitive eating course for women ready to take control of their confidence and food.

    159: "Healthy Food" Isn't a Thing Sep 25, 2019
    Show notes

"Say it isn't so, Christina! What about apples!? Celery!?" Nope, sorry- it's not that simple. If there aren't any inherently unhealthy foods then guess what? There aren't any inherently healthy foods either. No one food is healthy. It doesn't work that way. What DOES exist are healthy contexts and unhealthy contexts but it's really not that simple. Trust me, if this was simple, none of you would be here, nor would you constantly be looking for an answer on the other end of another Netflix documentary. Health, true health, is complex. Even an entire day of "healthy eating" is not enough to define health. Just like an entire day of eating "unhealthy food" is not enough to define health. Confused? Yeah. I used to be, too. Tune into this episode for what you *should* be considering instead!
