On July 13, 2024, former President Donald J. Trump survived an assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania, prompting President Biden to order a full review of security measures for both the rally and the upcoming Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. Tragically, one person lost their life, and two others were critically injured during what officials are calling a “security failure.” Overnight, the FBI named 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pa., as the suspect, though further details remain limited.
