    How to Stay Human

In a world addicted to speed, noise, and performance, How to Stay Human is your weekly reminder to slow down, feel deeply, and live with soul.
Hosted by award-winning author and integrative guide Tori Gordon and abundant futurist Kyle Herron, this podcast explores what it means to lead a fully human life in an increasingly artificial world.
Together, they unpack the real questions:
How do we stay connected to our bodies in a disembodied culture?
How do we lead with purpose instead of performance?
And how do we return to truth when the world pulls us into illusion?
Through raw conversations, practical tools, and spiritual insight, How to Stay Human invites you to remember who you are—beyond the noise.

Thought Spirals, Perfectionism and Getting Out of Your Own Way in 2020 with Topsie VandenBosch Dec 17, 2019
    Show notes

Do you ever wonder how one moment you can be driving down the road when someone cuts you off in traffic and you have a negative thought that leads to a breakdown? That one negative thought leads to another negative thought, and then another, and another until you're breaking out in a cold sweat and beating your fist against the steering wheel. How were you able to go from "can you believe that guy just cut me off?" to "I feel like no one understands me and I'm going to end up alone for the rest of my life"? This my friends, is called a thought spiral.
On today's episode I discuss Topsie VandenBosch's work as a mental health therapist and mindset coach, why so many of us struggle with negative thoughts and how we can avoid the black hole of the thought spiral.
We also discuss the coaching industry, how our feelings can be misleading us further from the truth, and why the toxic paradigm of perfectionism is a "crock of shit."
    Moments:
9:45 - The difference in therapy and coaching
15:45 - Thought spirals and how to avoid them
28:38 - You feelings are NOT the facts
35:53 - Why perfectionism is just an excuse
42:11 - How to get out of your own way in 2020
    Quotes:
"I think that perfectionism also can end up being like an excuse for not actually messing up getting messy and just doing the work. I almost feel like it ends up being this safety net. Yeah, you can fall back on "well, it's not good enough to put out into the world so why do it at all?'"
"When the student is ready, the teacher will appear."
"A lot of us are on autopilot on a day to day basis, and we think things and then we feel things and then we do things, but we're not robots and we weren't created to be robots."

Master Your Money Mindset - With Alyssa Hammond Dec 04, 2019
    Show notes

In his landmark book Think and Grow Rich Napoleon Hill said “There are no limitations to the mind except for those that we acknowledge. Both poverty and riches are the offspring of thought.”

I that’s a hard thing to accept if you’re a person who has been in blame around our finances for many years.

It’s easy to blame our finances on our employer, the government, our parents, a broken economy but yet is the case with any major life transformation - it happens from the inside out!

I really want to help you master your inner game so that you can create and empowered relationship with money and attract more of it.

So I gave my friend Alyssa Hammond to dive into this topic with me. Alyssa is a money coach helping women entrepreneurs tackle their finance struggles and reframe their limiting beliefs so that they can scale to 7 figure businesses.

This week we will discuss why struggle is not required when it comes to building a healthy relationship and a wealthy bank account. How you can identify the limiting beliefs that are holding you back and what to do about it. How your parents relationship with money could be haunting you, plus why following your zone of genius bring you true wealth and prosperity in all aspects of your life.

This is going to be such an amazing conversation that if you come with an open mind and open heart this week this conversation could change your life.

Why "The Hustle" Isn't All It's Cracked Up To Be & How To Operate In Flow with Charlene Izere Nov 18, 2019
    Show notes

Self care is more than just bubble baths and face masks. It’s about diving deep and getting to the root of your trauma, triggers and boundaries. It can be as simple as asking ourselves often “What am I actually feeling?” and being honest with ourselves about the answer.

The truth is: being selfish is okay. You have to take care of yourself before you can take care of others.

Burnout will impact your ability to show up if you aren’t acknowledging it and practicing self care.

Self care is for men, too! It’s important for all of us to feel okay. It all starts with us having these conversations with one another.

In today’s episode, we hear from Charlene Izere. She is the founder of both Wellness Delivered and Melanin and Money; events that focus on how self care meets community care as well as networking for women of color and their allies.

Join us as we talk about why self care is about thriving instead of surviving and ways to get started in self care and community care today.

Wellness Delivered and Melanin and Money will be taking place in the Knoxville, TN and Atlanta, GA areas. Follow @charleneizere on Instagram for more information!

What if I told you that your success will be measure by how stupid you're willing to look?
    Fo real.
Thnk of the most successful person you know. They had audacious dreams and one day they decided to chase them.
When the Wright brothers decided they wanted to fly and built the first airplane do you know how stupid they looked to everyone that said it couldn't be done?
They looked stupid...and then they soared. Literally.
In this episode I discuss why it's so important to take big risks, why millennials get such a bad rep and the miracle that happened when I said "Yes" to following my dream.
