The mindset shift that changed my life

While preparing for today's episode on mindset shift examples, I had to – surprisingly – shift my mindset. Why? Because in my research things turned out a little different than I expected. Before writing this episode, I took my changing-your-mindset hypothesis to the Level 2 CEO Teacher® Membership Community. I asked them, "So when you get caught up scrolling on social media or looking at TpT stores or focusing on other, more seemingly successful teacher-authors…what thoughts go through your head?" And, friend, I thought I knew the answer! I assumed they'd tell me, "Kayse, I harbor negative thoughts about those people!" Or, "Kayse, I'm so jealous of them!" But let me tell you: I was waaaaaaaaaay off.

A simple mindset shift to move toward a life you love

Friends, my students weren't jealous. My students weren't even envious. No. Rather, my Level 2 CEO Teacher ® students were VERY clear on how they felt. And it all seemed to boil down to the same response. My students needed help with how to navigate the feeling, "I don't measure up!" Yes, a tectonic shift in mindset was needed. So what came next? The Top 5 Strategies for Teacher Collaboration as an Entrepreneur Strategies for a teacher collaboration may come in many forms. From working together on a blog post to creating a summit or professional development opportunity to sharing each other's info on social media, teacher collaboration strategies are plentiful. Strategies for the best teacher collaboration, on the other hand, may be more nuanced. Take, for example, Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Within it, habit 4 of 7 in Dr. Covey's book focuses on thinking win/win in everything you do. In terms of "how to collaborate with other teachers," I'd add – swap the words "everything you do" with "teacher collaboration strategies!" It's that simple. In other words, the best teacher collaboration examples are formed on a character-based code for human interaction. Strategies for a teacher collaboration begin with being human

On today's episode, I'm sharing 5 teacher collaboration examples and benefits. Friend, we're going to explore the gamet of teacher collaboration tools and mindset shifts. But, first, you must remember: everything – and I mean EVERYTHING – that you do with a person inside of a collaboration should be to mutually benefit BOTH of you. 10 life lessons from a multi-million dollar membership for teachers

Although this isn't my typical podcast, it's one that I have enjoyed thinking through the process. And I hope that the 10 life lessons I've learned since creating a multi-million dollar membership for teachers can somehow help you on your online journey as a teacher. As you'll soon hear, some of these life-lessons from The CEO Teacher Academy® to the CEO Teacher Membership® are profound (and they took me years to find the answers to) and, while others may sound simple, they still took years to develop.

What you need to know about teacher memberships

On the road to creating The CEO Teacher Programs®, what did we learn in the process? Whew, we learned a lot! But I want you to know this – unless we are in launch thickness (which is about 4 weeks a year), we live an easy-going, carefree, fun-filled job/life. We have found the potion to put a trance on the workforce. Our team functions like a well-oiled machine: working 4 days a week and getting tons of vacation time. But, friends, it hasn't always looked like this. Building a membership for teachers that functions like a well-oiled machine takes time to build! In fact, when I first hired a team, I was miserable. I cried nearly every day. And then when my business skyrocketed, I was the loneliest I had ever been. But then came a critical turning point in 2020 (and it was UGLY). To create the teacher membership I'd dreamed up, I would have to either sink or swim. Yet somehow, I began to fly. How'd I do it? How to build a brand online, offline, or even…on the farm

Even though my guest today, Lauren Denny, started her first business not that long ago, in her short time operating MULTIPLE businesses – I believe – she has stumbled on how to build a brand that will last a lifetime. I wanted Lauren on the show today because I thought she'd bring a unique perspective as to what a teacher has done to build a brand that others can see themselves in. And, guys, she does NOT disappoint! I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that this is my favorite interview to date. As you'll hear, Lauren shares not only how to build a brand on social media and what building a brand on instagram looks like, she also shares about her journey from life in the classroom, to wanting something more, to finding happiness that she never knew existed with her businesses. From building a business to building a brand with recognition

Here's a little more: Lauren Denny is a former teacher turned first generation farmer who started a sign company, Simply Stained Shop, and an event ranch, Simply Country Ranch. Additionally, Lauren's know-how on how to build a brand online evolved from Teachers Pay Teachers author, wood sign builder, children's book author, farmer, and event planner. According to Lauren, the answer to how to build a brand on social media is as simple as reaching an audience where they are. In other words, it's just like teaching! Today, Lauren lives in Oklahoma with her husband, two bonus kiddos, and her two hundred plus animals. Ready to plant the seeds to building your brand? Are You Self-Sabotaging Your Success as a CEO Teacher®? Apr 13, 2022

Limitless success begins when you minimize self-sabotaging behaviors

On the way home from a jam-packed spring break, I reflected on a time when I saw the world through a self-sabotaging mindset. Once upon a time, my self-sabotaging behaviors ran the show. Granted, this was before I became the CEO of The CEO Teacher® programs and, honestly, perhaps a little during the early years. But mostly, I wasn't even aware of my self-sabotaging worldview and tendencies. I believed myself (and my self worth) to be simply Kayse…the 8th grade ELA teacher and nothing more. To grow, something had to shift.

Stop self-sabotaging and start self-actualizing

Thankfully, friend, a lot has changed since then. And on today's show I'm sharing a clear path on how to find freedom from your negative thoughts (even if you are a positive person). Unfortunately, self-sabotage may not stop overnight. It will take time. And that's why I want you to get started right away. Thriving After Negative Feedback in Business (It Happens to All of Us) Apr 06, 2022

Why negative feedback in business is an opportunity to grow Shaky hands, nervous stomach, no appetite, mind racing, tears, anger – those are just a few of the feelings that I used to get when I received negative feedback in business. I specifically remember the first time I got negative TpT feedback. I thought it was going to be the end of my world. I was walking my 8th graders to the lunchroom. My phone was in my back pocket. Ping! I received a new email (this was back before the TpT app, mind you…). So I opened up the email and there it was: negative customer feedback on MY PRODUCT. Ouch. I was devastated. I couldn't eat. And then…I got mad. Can you relate? Have you ever done this before? Y'all, I have sooooooooo been there. This is how I used to approach negative feedback in business. Thankfully, I've made a few changes… How to handle negative feedback from customers & why it's important

Over the last few years, I've worked very hard to adopt a new belief system that helps me respond to negative customer feedback in a positive way. And I'm happy to report that I feel absolutely none of those feelings mentioned above when I receive negative feedback on my business or products. That's why today I'm sharing some actionable steps that you can take to release the anxiety and use negative feedback as a way to improve your overall business. These steps will also help you become happier as the creator and designer you were born to be. Ready to learn how to respond to negative feedback in business in a positive light once and for all? Life Before the CEO Teacher® Mar 30, 2022

What life looked like before the CEO Teacher® Programs

It's not every day or, heck, even every year that I wake up and say, "Today is the day that I retell what life looked like before the CEO Teacher®." To be honest, friends, my story – the one that I have to live with every single day – is not one that I'm entirely proud of. In fact, it took some dark turns and even harder times. And friend…I don't want that to be your story!

Teacher depression before my CEO Teacher® journey

So on today's episode, I'm going to retell my story from depression as a teacher to becoming a CEO Teacher® and everything in between. In retelling this, it's my hope that you will write a different story, one where you turn your teaching passion into profit and create more freedom in your life…RIGHT NOW. And personally speaking, things have changed a great deal since the early days. Frankly, there is help and it can get better. I'm living proof.
