Prosecuting the Police Apr 12, 2021
    Show notes

A 20-year-old black man was shot and killed by police over the weekend. It happened during a traffic stop in a suburb of Minneapolis, only 10 miles away from where former officer Derek Chauvin is on trial for killing George Floyd. Last year, after charges were first filed against Chauvin, Faith Nation anchor John Jessup spoke with several legal experts about the challenges in prosecuting the police. He's on today's CBN News Daily Rundown.

From the Vault: Confronting China Apr 09, 2021
    Show notes

Economic, military, and political domination; it seems China will stop at nothing to rule the world. Thursday, the Senate unveiled a new bi-partisan strategy to confront China's growing power. It seeks infrastructure investment and technology development in order to compete with China on a global scale. Senior international correspondent George Thomas has been covering China for decades. He's on today's CBN News Daily Rundown with some insight into why it's so important for the US to act.

Influx at the Border Apr 08, 2021
    Show notes

The number of children alone at the border hit an all-time high in March as the Biden administration continues to roll back his predecessor's hardline immigration policies. Senior Washington correspondent Tara Mergener visited the US southern border many times under the Trump administration. She just returned from another trip, and says the flow of migrants feels "unstoppable." She's on today's CBN News Daily Rundown with a first-hand account of just how much the situation has deteriorated.

    A Diplomatic Dance Apr 07, 2021
    Show notes

Iran and the US have agreed on a path aimed at re-starting the Iranian Nuclear Deal. The plan is to synchronize Washington's lifting of sanctions with Iran's limiting of uranium enrichment. Coordinating and verifying all of this will take some time, as there's little to no trust between the two sides. Meanwhile, Mideast Bureau Chief Chris Mitchell says this new diplomatic development raises major concerns in Israel. He's on today's CBN News Daily Rundown.

    COVID-19 Vaccinations Hit 4 Million Milestone Apr 06, 2021
    Show notes

April 19th could be the day that every adult in the U.S. becomes eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. That's about two weeks earlier than President Biden's original May 1st deadline. The president is set to announce this news, late Tuesday afternoon. That's the good news, as close to 3 million people are getting vaccinated each day and more than 18 percent of the population is now fully vaccinated. But infection rates are up and hospitalizations are still increasing. CBN's Senior Medical Reporter Lorie Johnson is on today's episode to talk more about these developments.

Living In Limbo Apr 05, 2021
    Show notes

As lawmakers grapple with how to secure our border and debate over immigration reform, the immigrants who are currently protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program continue to live in limbo. Their permits must be renewed every two years, and with the policy that allows them to live and work in the US constantly threatened by legal challenges, anything beyond those two-year increments feels uncertain. While there is bipartisan support for a permanent solution for DACA recipients, also known as Dreamers, nothing has ever passed both chambers of Congress. Capitol Hill correspondent Abigail Robertson recently spoke with one Dreamer about the tension of living life dependent on a bipartisan solution that seems to always be just out of reach. She's on today's CBN News Daily Rundown.

George Thomas: 'Living My Dream' Apr 01, 2021
    Show notes

It was 25 years ago today that senior international correspondent George Thomas first joined the CBN News Team. He's traveled the world and had a front-row seat to many historical moments, but ultimately he says he's simply in pursuit of ordinary people doing extraordinary things for the Kingdom of God. He's on today's CBN News Daily Rundown.

The Build Back Better Plan Mar 31, 2021
    Show notes

Two trillion in new spending and two trillion in new taxes. President Joe Biden is pitching one of the most expensive spending bills in American history. He says the need is too great to delay investing in our infrastructure, but his plan could be a hard sell for Republicans and Democrats alike. White House correspondent Eric Philips says this is only part one of Biden's spending plan. He explains on today's CBN News Daily Rundown.

    'Satan Shoes' Mar 30, 2021
    Show notes

"Satan Shoes," that's what rapper Lil Nas X is calling a pair of shoes he helped design, released earlier this week. They're made using Nike Air Max 97's, but feature a bronze pentagram charm, an inverted cross, a Bible verse, and actual human blood in the sole of the shoe. Nike says it had nothing to do with this and is suing the New York-based company that collaborated with Lil Nas X on the shoes. Only 666 pairs were available, each costing $1,018, a reference to the Bible passage embroidered on the side of the shoe, Luke 10:18, which reads in part, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from Heaven." While the shoes are controversial, Faithwire editor Tré Goins Phillips says they also provide Christians with an opportunity. He's on today's CBN News Daily Rundown.
