The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 5th study session on Frantz Fanon's 1961 seminal book, The Wretched of the Earth. Born in Martinique in 1925, Fanon is an internationally admired psychiatrist who committed his brief 36 years of life to ending White rule. He fought for Algerian independence from French colonial oppression and black liberation world wide. Fanon also authored Black Skin, White Mask, which is a psychoanalysis of the perversions and neurosis of sexual activity between Whites and black people. Interestingly, Fanon himself married a White woman. The writer and psychiatrist died from leukemia the same year The Wretched of the Earth was published. Last week's session explored the prospects and benefits of spontaneously retaliating against White rule. Significantly, Fanon noted that powerful Whites "analyze the forces of rebellion" aimed against their world empire. He also observed that Racists deployed armed White brutes and Christian missionaries to fortify their dominion over Black people. The Context of White Supremacy hosts our Thursday weekly caucus on Workplace Racism. The motivation for this broadcast is to refine non-white people's problem-solving abilities and to hone how black people think, speak, act and regulate emotions while on the job. Any listeners who've unearthed the best technique to limit conflict with White and/or non-white co-workers, sidestep demotions, write-ups, terminations or other violence we experience under Racist labor conditions should promptly dial in with specifics. We appreciate and encourage the experiences of "black entrepreneurs;" please, share with us how being "self-employed" improves your workplace experience. Several listeners have voiced an interest in forming a group to codify ideas to help black people in the area of employment. Any listeners with human resource experience are encouraged to inquire about details. We'll hear counter-racist strategies from listeners as well as individual reflections from your own work history. The Context of White Supremacy Gus T. Renegade joined the millions who committed time and energy to observe the "Great American Eclipse" of 2017. The historic solar event spanned the width of North America; this region won't witness another solar eclipse until 2024. Gus T. traveled to Salem, Oregon to catch the totality of the eclipse. Context of White Supremacy listeners should remember in 2013, a black Salem Hospital employee, Dau Tucker, had a bullet left on her desk and was told "leave nigger or die" on Dr. Martin Luther King's holiday. Gus will share a few of his observations from his time in Oregon's capital. Whites coordinated and globetrotted thousands of miles to study this event. They tracked the animals, the heavens and the traffic for this much ballyhooed event. White Mayor Mitch Landrieu threatened to hold people accountable for poor building or management of infrastructure.This week also marked the grimm three-year anniversary of the murders of Michael Brown Jr. and John Crawford III. Both were unarmed Black males, killed by White enforcement officers. No one was charged for their deaths. Brown's death sparked months of protests. Crawford was mostly ignored. Born in Martinique in 1925, Fanon became globally recognized psychiatrist and committed his 36 years of life to ending White rule. He fought for Algerian independence from French colonial oppression and black liberation world wide. Fanon also authored Black Skin, White Mask, which is a psychoanalysis of the perversions and neurosis of sexual activity between Whites and black people. Last week's session detailed how colonized people remain stressed and tense as a result of White domination. Fanon writes that for the native, "the electrode [remains] at his genitals," meaning that he is constantly subjected to lethal, sexually exploitative violence. The Context of White Supremacy welcomes the return of Joseph Gibson. An author and founder of KITABU Publishing, Mr. Gibson has committed years of his life teaching black children. He's presently a school principal at a mostly black school in Michigan. Gibson has researched and written about the role of White female teachers in the racist school system and the way black people are injured by racist concepts and lies, which violate our critical thinking abilities. His most recent texts, Why Nobody Wants to Teach Black Kids From High-Poverty Backgrounds: Beyond Blaming Bad Teachers, Traditional Racism, and Black Students Themselves, explores how pretty much everyone has been persuaded that black boys and girls are dumb and not fun to educate. Years of teaching black children has given Gibson more than a decade to observe how educators and parents view the academic development of black children. Renegade and the pacific northwest got a heap of summer sun; a four-day heat warning was issued for this part of the North America. Scientists caused a different type of heat, using CRISPR technology to edit human genes. Neely Fuller Jr. reminds Victims of White Supremacy that Whites study a grain of sand, or human DNA, to maintain domination over non-white people. Speaking of domination, a White St. Louis police officer settled a lawsuit claiming he was victim of racial bias. The Suspected Race Soldier charged that a lesser qualified black officer was promoted. Fanon also penned Black Skin, White Mask, which is a psychoanalysis of the depravity and neurosis of sexual activity between Whites and black people. Interestingly, Fanon himself was married to a White woman. The writer and psychiatrist died from leukemia the same year The Wretched of the Earth was published. Last week's session explored the preface, written by Jean-Paul Sartre. A prominent White philosopher of the 1960's, Sartre's introduction shares buckets of words and, in between, a few slivers of truth about White power. Sartre acknowledges Racists often find solace watching black people hollar about about our oppression or seek solace in the ancient African traditions.
