The Context of White Supremacy hosts our debut study session on Dr. Tommy J. Curry's The Man-Not: Race, Class, Genre, and the Dilemmas of Black Manhood. We were motivated to read this text after concluding Pamela Evans Harris's Black Love Is A Revolutionary Act - a highly inaccurate, poorly researched book that flagrantly assaults black males from cover to cover. Many listeners - male and female, had no problem with black males being cursed, called names, and maligned as "feverish" and "worthless." Dr. Curry's 2017 publication directly addresses black misandry - dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against men. The book explores how multitudes commonly charge black males as being guilty of patriarchy and the domination of females, while the evidence shows black males lack the power to protect themselves much less dominate anyone else. The Context of White Supremacy welcomes the return of Dr. Marvin Dunn. A Florida historian of the first order, Dr. Dunn has authored numerous texts including The Beast in Florida: A History of Anti-Black Violence and A History of Florida: Through Black Eyes. The ensuing midterm elections have been especially charged given the recent eruption of White Terrorism. The Pittsburgh synagogue shooting displaced attention from accused mail bombed Cesar Sayoc. This Suspected Race Solider allegedly mailed pipe bombs to a number of black people and prominent Democratic officials. Sayoc was allegedly "obsessed" with Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum and used social media to rage about the black politician. We'll ask Dr. Dunn to contextualize the this month's sequence of White violence. It's been said often that there's been an increase in flagrantly racist commentary. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly Compensatory Call-In. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how best to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. We’ll use these sessions to hone our use of words as tools to reveal truth, neutralize White people. We’ll examine news reports from the past seven days and – hopefully – promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS National security is on high alert as a number of explosive devices were reportedly mailed to Barack and Michelle Obama, former Attorney General Eric Holder, U.S. Senator Corey Booker, U.S. Congresswoman Maxine Waters, and Hillary and Bill Clinton (often referred to as "the first black president"). Media reports have hinted that deadly packages are targeting supporters of the Democratic party; George Soros and Robert DeNiro were also allegedly mailed bombs. No one has been injured as a result of the packages. The New York Times reported that one man was arrested in Florida on Friday in connection to the bombs. "Florida news organizations reported that the authorities had surrounded a white van with Trump stickers on it," reports the Times. These events were preceded by weeks of mail bombs in Austin, Texas earlier this year, where two black males were killed. President Donald J. Trump decried the attacks during a Wisconsin speech, but later took to social media to declare: "Republicans are doing so well in early voting, and at the polls, and now this 'Bomb' stuff happens and the momentum greatly slows - news not talking politics. Pam was one of The C.O.W.S.'s listeners most beloved guests and made dozens of visits to the broadcast for almost a decade. The Context of White Supremacy hosts our Thursday weekly caucus on neutralizing Workplace Racism. This segment is specifically crafted to improve non-white people's problem-solving skills and refine how black people think, speak, act and manage emotions while on the job. Any listeners who've produced a code to extinguish conflicts with White and/or non-white co-workers, bypass demotions, write-ups, terminations or other forms of violence we experience under Racist work conditions should be first to dial in with details. We're always grateful for the opportunity to learn about the experiences of "black entrepreneurs." Please, share with us how being "self employed" improves your labor experience. We'll continue to review how attempted counter-racist can best utilize recording devices to solve problems without creating new problems in the workplace. The C.O.W.S.'s Book Club reviewed this horrid text earlier this year; the young adult bestseller depicts black males as impotent, criminal, oversexed, drug selling hoodlums deserving of death. The main character, a black female who witnessed the death of her black male friend, hides her sorrows in the arms of her White boyfriend. Racism dominated the box-office and the ballot box, with a bevy of reports that various forms of tampering are restricting black voters access to polls in the coming midterms. Gus will also give a stingy update on his recently completed prenatal yoga teacher training.
