    The C.O.W.S. Neutralizing Workplace Racism 07/02/20 Jul 03, 2020
    Show notes

The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly forum on Neutralizing Workplace Racism. 4th of July weekend commences this weekend, but now more than ever, there is nothing to celebrate. Covid-19 is reportedly surging in numerous states across the U.S., which has resulted in a number of businesses having to close again. Face masks are now required in a growing number of U.S. states, and this is has caused brawls, confrontations and enough conflict that some businesses closed down again. We discuss how workers are adapting to the wackiness of these times. One thing all these disruptions have done is cancel another holiday. 4th of July celebrations have been canceled outright or tremendously scaled down, so non-white workers should avoid unnecessary functions or jamborees associated with this date on the calendar. We'll also hear how the ongoing protests against Racism are continuing to impact the workplace. Black people should continue keeping quiet about current events or sharing personal views on Racism. It's very doubtful anything shared on these matters will produce a pay raise or extra vacation days. #TheSicknessIsWhiteSupremacy INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 605.313.5164 CODE 564943#

The C.O.W.S. Fred Jerome's and Rodger Taylor's Einstein on Race and Racism Part 3 Jul 02, 2020
    Show notes

The Context of White Supremacy hosts the third study session on Fred Jerome and Rodger Taylor's Einstein on Race and Racism. Jerome may be classified as White, while Taylor is a black male. Dr. Frances Cress Welsing recommended a number of books over the years #ReadingIsMoreImportantThanWatchingTelevision She placed special emphasis on this text. Dr. Welsing frequently mentioned Einstein's failure to focus his all of his mental faculties on the primary problem on the planet, White Supremacy. This text, published in 2005 collects an array of Einstein's writings on the Racism he observed here in the U.S. Having migrated to North America from Hitler's Nazi Germany, Einstein contrasted the System of Racial Terror here to what was happening across the pond in Europe. Interestingly, an early chapter of this text provides great detail on the centuries of Institutional White Supremacy on the Princeton campus. Author Rodger Taylor shared that the schools's Racism was the most surprising part of the book for him personally. This week, amidst the ongoing protests around the world, Whites at Princeton decided that former school president and U.S. president Woodrow Wilson's name will be removed from several buildings on campus. Racist views and practices was the explicit reason given for Wilson's erasure. This week's portion of the text will give more detail about Einstein's time at Princeton and his relationship to the great Paul Robeson. #RacismIsADiseaseOfWhitePeople INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 605.313.5164 CODE 564943#

The C.O.W.S. w/ Dr. Gerald Horne: Protests and Paul Robeson in Context Jul 01, 2020
    Show notes

The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Dr. Gerald Horne. The Moores Professorship of History and African American Studies at the University of Houston, Dr. Horne investigates "issues of racism in a variety of relations involving labor, politics, civil rights, international relations and war." We recently read his biography on COINTELPRO victim and friend of Albert Einstein, Paul Robeson. Dr. Horne's work seemed to highlight the enormous surveillance that Robeson was under because of his intellect and his potential to counter-racism. Dr. Horne has written a wealth of material of White Supremacy, so we'll also discuss his 1995 publication, Fire this Time: The Watts Uprising and the 1960s. The System of White Supremacy guarantees riots against the police killing of black people. We'll place the current protests in a greater context, and ask Dr. Horne about the direction of current events. #TheSicknessIsWhiteSupremacy INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 605.313.5164 CODE 564943#

    The C.O.W.S. Compensatory Call-In 06/27/20 Jun 28, 2020
    Show notes

The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly Compensatory Call-In. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how best to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. We’ll use these sessions to hone our use of words as tools to reveal truth, neutralize White people. We’ll examine news reports from the past seven days and – hopefully – promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS Summer of 2020 kicked off, and the rona continues to kick us around. The U.S. set a record for the number of Covid-19 cases this week. Florida, Arizona, Michigan, South Carolina and a number of other states report substantial increases in the number of coronavirus cases. Masks are now required throughout the state of Washington, and New York state implemented a 14-day quarantine on visitors arriving from states with surging virus cases. In the midst of ongoing uncertainty and confusion about the virus, protests over the System of White Supremacy and police terrorism against black people continues. Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan said it's time for the protesters to vacate the streets and return home. In Wisconsin, a White lawmaker, state Senator Tim Carpenter, was allegedly attacked while mobs of protesters - many of them appeared to be White - focused their rage on a statue. Citizens in Rhode Island are considering changing it's name to divest from the roots to slavery. Surprisingly, congress failed to pass legislation to curb police terrorism against black people. And in Wilmington, Delaware, location of the 1898 terrorist attack, 3 veteran White police officers were fired after a recording surfaced where one told others that he planned to buy assault rifles: "We are just going to go out and start slaughtering them f---ing n----rs."

    Show notes

The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly forum on Neutralizing Workplace Racism. What could be the lamest summer is some years commenced this weekend. Covid-19 continues to menace the planet - with reported infections rising again in a number of U.S. cities. Wearing masks remains a controversial request and work environments continue to adjust. Protests against the System of White Supremacy and police terrorism are also ongoing, and this has also forced a number of work environments to make changes. We'll discuss children's prospects for "summer jobs," when a number of reports indicate these positions may be eliminated or greatly reduced because of the virus. We'll encourage listeners to monitor their stress levels in the workplace. With this year's relentless barrage of stress and confusion, many of us managing anxiety as best we can and without our normal levels of patience. Maintaining composure is critical for the workplace, and Racists may try to provoke us under these raging times. #TheSicknessIsWhiteSupremacy INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 605.313.5164 CODE 564943#
