    The Bump & Grind

Whether you’re a mama-to-be or mama-to-many, the only thing that’s certain is every week brings the unexpected – the good, the bad, the highly comedic (after of course, enough time/crying/laughing that is).

Each Tuesday, grab your coffee/pump/libation of choice, and join one newly pregnant sister as she talks (& laughs, A LOT) with her mom-to-three sister about all things pregnancy, motherhood, kid, and family-related. You know that feeling after a PROPER girls catchup? It’s like that, belly aches and all.

    Ep. 16 - Already Reaching Maslow's Self-Actualization Tier By Episode 16 Sep 01, 2020
    Show notes

Hold onto your hats/babies/bumps! This past week brought Holly's holy grail with one very special slide into our DMs. The B&G is surprised with our (unplanned) first guest who finally takes care of the sound effects Holly is always after (just maybe not the kind she was looking for), the sisters share some very special mom-ologues, & talk the first few weeks postpartum as well as the "classes" Holly's little ones have been taking. Oh and of course, our highly unqualified pivot into talking mental health - lie down on the couch why don't ya!

Ep. 15 - There's A Baby Who Lives Under Our Roof Now (aka Alana's Birth Story) Aug 25, 2020
    Show notes

Cue Munch's "The Scream" painting: this week Alana & Holly talk all the juicy details of Alana's BIRTH STORY!!! And from Holly's "Bump & Grind" corner (since she could now practically host this show alone with the 3 miniature people plus 12 week bump), we're schooled in the terminology of "genital reveal" and Holly's youngest is a skeptic of her mom's truth-telling & demands proof!

    Ep. 14 - That Doesn't Sound Like Science Aug 18, 2020
    Show notes

This week holds Alana’s last appointment before her due date & Holly’s first one of her fourth pregnancy, & the two play verbal ping pong between the “bump” and "grind,” (because what day IS it even anymore?!) & discuss all kinds of wives tales from what the sex of your baby will be to how to naturally induce labor (spoiler: do not put that pineapple anywhere other than your mouth).

Ep. 13 - FACT: Everybody Loves Boobs Aug 11, 2020
    Show notes

Alana & Holly talk Week 36 of pregnancy, internet safety for grandparents, Holly the Geneticist makes a guest appearance, & no matter how hard we try, we just cannot get off the topic of boobs. Also, you're welcome for the bonus virtual tour of our spice cabinet (can these two ever stay on task??!)

Ep. 12 - Listeners, Cover Your Ears! Aug 04, 2020
    Show notes

Alana & Holly talk Week 35 of pregnancy, Holly's contingency conundrum if schools don't open in the fall, & run their usual random gamut all the way from perineal massage to kids pooping in the pool. But wait, there's more [cue the 3am blue infomercial]: A LOT MORE.

Holy kasdjfkl;asdjl;kfasdkl;fakl;sdf!!! This is a bombshell of an episode. But really. Like for everyone (including the hosts!!!). If you're ever going to listen to an episode, THIS IS THE ONE (cue the Jonah Hill screaming gif).

    Ep. 11 - The Time Traveler's Podcast Jul 28, 2020
    Show notes

Alana & Holly talk about A LOT OF BIG CHANGES that have seemingly happened "in a week," ;) including a MAJOR update from Alana's side (or should we say front!) and the effects of Covid, quarantine, & being a working mom of 3, on her little ones (& her own sanity).

    Ep. 10 - Well, You Can't Script Life Jul 14, 2020
    Show notes

**Trigger Warning: A slight heads up however, as you know we always intend on being your weekly dose of lighthearted pregnancy and motherhood rambling, but as it turns out, you can’t script life. So this episode is unfortunately a bit heavier than all the others and describes an emotional journey with pregnancy loss, containing in depth discussion on birth trauma and baby loss which some listeners may find distressing**

To add to the bummer of this episode, Holly's audio for the first 4 minutes was somehow corrupted! Bear with us for just a few minutes and then we promise it gets back to normal :)

Ep. 9 - & All The Moms Say "Hell No" Jul 02, 2020
    Show notes

Alana & Holly talk Week 17 of pregnancy, sullied traveling teddy bears, the Stephen King thriller that is the general grind of bedtime and sleep for Holly’s littles, and the hilarious inefficiencies of the post office and baby passport photos.

Ep. 8 - The Tale Of The Cucumber Sandwich Jun 30, 2020
    Show notes

Alana & Holly talk Week 16 of pregnancy, Holly's #1 Grind struggle: kids and food, her husband's foray into showbiz, and the magical oddity that is a "Grandma fridge." This week's episode tastes like adult dunkaroos, and that my friends, is a very good thing.

Ep. 7 - Condolences To Your Vagina [Bonus episode!] Jun 25, 2020
    Show notes

Alana & Holly get together for what was supposed to be a midweek lightning round of random Q&As (think birth plans & preferences, first weeks of postpartum, & breastfeeding). As will come as a shock to no one who regularly listens to this podcast, we loosely stuck to that, but more accurately went on our merry way of tangential paths (through forests with birthing foxes).
