How To Get A Return On Your Investment And Time Feb 04, 2021
    Show notes

Gary Boomershine got into real estate full time in 2004. He founded RealEstateInvestor.com in 2005 out of the need to scale and grow his own real estate investing and home buying business. With a family legacy in the real estate niche and a long successful career in enterprise and emerging technology markets, Gary saw the vision for RealEstateInvestor.com. He noticed the glaring opportunity to leverage people, processes, and technology to gain a leg up in a changing and competitive marketplace. Under his leadership, his business has launched a technology revolution within the real estate niche; offering an alternative to the MLS (Multiple Listing Service) by bringing pre-screened motivated sellers and buyers face to face at the right time.

As he worked to develop and use the initial product and service, he saw his real estate business flourish by allowing him to work smarter and not harder. By doing that he is able to focus on the one thing that makes money which involves talking to sellers and making offers. Gary currently resides in Northern California with his wife and two daughters where he continues to be a visionary for RealEstateInvestor.com. He is actively involved in real estate investing and private lending.

    Listen in as they discuss:

    • Gary’s journey to where he is at now.
    • Building or implementing systems that work for your business.
    • Delegating work to people who will add value to your business.
    • Why are people resistant?
    • The concept of getting a return on your investment and time.
    • The concept of opportunity cost.
    • The fastest and easiest way for businesses to make offers and close sales.

    And, more!

If you are doing a ten dollar an hour work, you’re going to have a ten dollar bank account. ~Gary Boomershine

Gary: These changed my life. First, in anything that I want to excel at I get a coach. They have an operating Model called EOS, it’s been a life-changer.

    TIP OF THE WEEK

Teria: On Facebook, I used to be able to do my strike-out in a Word Document and copy it and paste it into my Facebook Ad, and with improvements and changes that they’ve made they’re no longer able to do that. So I found a website called yaytext.com; it allows you to go in and bold your text or strike–through all the other grammatical new ones that you want to put in your ads, it’s there on that website and you can copy it and put it into your Facebook Ads and it shows up the way you want it to. It’s a pretty cool little tool.

Mike: My tip is a book, I think, it's an important one because if you ask me to "boil down what you did to scale or like key things": number one was hiring and number two was creating systems and processes, and running my business in a systematic way. The name of the book is Traction by Gino Wickman. It's a short and easy read; and they call it EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System). It's a simple method of running your business like a business.

Listen in as they go around the room and discuss ways to evaluate the effectiveness of your deal of the week. They also give advice and tips to compose a good deal of the week while sharing the approach they take to construct and manage their weekly deal of the week.

    TIP OF THE WEEK

Scott Bossman: There are two tips. One is fun and one practical. The practical one is everybody is always worried about water. What’s the water table like? Your buyers are worried about water, new land investors are worried about water. I’m not so much worried about water anymore but it was one of my initial worries. There is a website you can use nwis.waterdata.usgs.gov. You can search by county and area and really zoom in and see what maybe what the water table is like in a particular area. You can see how deep a well is dug in a particular area you work in.

This is my fun tip of the week. Being that I work at home now, I have more time to read, listen to music, whatever. I would highly recommend listening to the 500 greatest albums of all time on rollingstone.com. It’s been very cool. I went through the first hundred albums last year and I’m finding some new favorites. So for those of you working at home and trying to pass the covid time, I recommend going through the list.

    • Financing component of commercial real estate
    • The lease option method
    • Risk factors associated with commercial real estate

    And, more!

    TIP OF THE WEEK

Mark: My tip of the week is the best tip of the week, Peter has been kind and generous enough to offer us a free book. Just go to petersfreebook.com, read the book and start learning about these options and how you can profit from it.

Scott: Check out this website called Elocance. What it does is it takes your reading list, it turns whatever you want to read into a podcast like an audio version of it.

Peter: One of the skills that I teach my students and has been very helpful to me in my 30 years of investing is being able to create a connection either with brokers or property owners, to quickly create rapport. There's a book available called Instant Rapport by Michael Brooks, I believe it's still available on Amazon. Great little study guide on how to get up speed on creating rapport quickly. The other thing is, right now is an amazing time to get going investing in Real Estate whether in commercial properties or investing in land. Let's face it when you're in quarantine and you're home you got a lot of time to focus on something new. People right now are at home and available to answer emails and phone, it's easy to get hold of people. Get out there, pick a strategy or method of teacher and start taking some steps.

Axel: My tip of the week is the book from John Soforic called The Wealthy Gardener. It gave me a huge amount of input, and anybody who's looking about how I can get my mindset, approach, and my thinking about wealth, money, and life in the right direction I would say John Soforic did a phenomenal job on writing that book. My biggest take away from that book is that “Steady Discipline is the Path to Success”.

Erik: Check out this book on Amazon, automate the boring stuff with Python. It is a programming language, very simple to learn, it is not overly complex.
