    TIP OF THE WEEK

Mark: My tip of the week is going to make you money, and more importantly it's going to get you motivated leads. To learn more about Bryan Driscoll and what's he's doing, go over at motivated-leads.com.

Scott: Check out this website, it's the nftoftheday.com. NFT means Non-Fungible Token, you can buy unique things with it, it's yours and it's digital. You can sell digital images, too.

Bryan: My tip is a book, “The Richest Man in Babylon” by George S. Clason. There's one page in that book, the five laws of gold, I recommend everybody to read that and implement it. It saves you from gambling, wasting your money, and getting along with the wrong people.

To build a business where its operations rely heavily on the efficiency of VAs requires a team that’s composed of not only exceptional VAs but also great clients. Listen in as the Land Geeks go around the table and ask Keshon questions that are centered around the topic “What it takes to be a good client and work with a VA?”.

    TIP OF THE WEEK

Keshon: I have two tips for the week. The first tip is a free online diagram software called draw.io. We use this tool in our business to create swimlanes and diagrams for our business processes. The second tool is teams. It is a part of the Microsoft 365 suite and it is an effective tool for communicating internally. It is a great tool that clients can use to communicate more effectively with their VAs.

How To Cultivate Grit In Your Organization And Personal Life Nov 04, 2021
    Show notes

Shannon Huffman Polson is an Author, Leadership Speaker, and U.S. Army Veteran. She is the founder of The Grit Institute, where she focuses on leadership and grit based on her years of service and her time in the corporate world.

Shannon studied English Literature and Art History at Duke University. At her graduation, she was commissioned as a 2LT in Army Aviation and became one of the first women to fly the Apache helicopter in the U.S. Army, where she has led two flight platoons and line units on three continents. She later earned her MBA in Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

Her love for leadership has led her to combine her passion and firsthand experience along with her study of leadership and grit to deliver world-class training to companies and organizations. She energizes her audience across the country and around the world to overcome resistance, connect to their core purpose and commit to courageous ownership under the most challenging conditions. Currently, she is an American writer and leadership development consultant.

    Listen in as they discuss:

    • Grit and its definition.
    • How Shannon uses grit to survive in corporate culture.
    • The importance of staying focus to achieve your goals.
    • How Shannon helps others to cultivate grit in their children and their organization.
    • What is grounded optimism?
    • Ways to build your grit.
    • The worst advice Shannon has seen or heard given in her area of expertise of grit and resilience and grounded optimism in order to be better every day.
    • What kind of mindset you will need to develop to build resilience and grit.

    And, more!

    TIP OF THE WEEK

Mark: My tip of the week is go to shannonpolson.com and get the Grit Factor book. Check out Shannon's articles, essays and she has an institute: The Little Book of Grit, The Road Ahead, The Way the Wild Gets Inside and there's a ton.

Scott: Check out bobbyapp.co, it keeps track of all of those subscriptions that you've signed up for: Netflix, One Password, whatever it is you add it to here. That way you'll never forget your subscriptions.

Shannon: I have two tips! The first is, keeping track of what's going on every day in a journal that you write in is really helpful, and keeping track of finances (quick shout out to Taylor Money, which is my husband's tech company) is an outstanding way to look at your finances every single day, and to be able to know what's your status is every single day. You have complete control.

The second thing is a book by Brian Doyle called One Long River of Song, I'm recommending it because the most important thing that you do, and the most important key to your success is people, and it always has to do with people. Brain Doyle will connect you to the most human part of yourself in a way that will literally bring tears to your eyes. If you're not taking time to connect to that human part of yourselves and others, success is a hard thing to find.

    TIP OF THE WEEK

Teria: Today's tip is a little different, I found this incredible app called Fitbod. It allows me to go in and put what equipment I have; how I want to workout and how long I want to workout. It allows me to specify if I want heavy lifting or what type of workout. It plans my whole workout. It tracks my whole muscle recovery. It designs my workout. I can change it if I don't want to do this or that, but for those who workout or who are looking to workout, Fitbod is a great help.

How To Market Effectively In Real Estate Oct 28, 2021
    Show notes

Gene Volpe is the digital architect at GVI Media, LLC and an all-around master of advertising, online media, and business development. He helps real estate agents excel with their digital marketing while also showing them how they can use digital marketing to grow their real estate business and take it to the next level.

His skills in mapping out marketing provide an easy path to increased visibility and growth on the latest and most popular platforms.

    Listen in as they discuss:

    • Gene’s journey into the field of marketing
    • Marketing for real estate
    • Common mistakes in marketing for real estate
    • Philosophy on effective marketing
    • How to market effectively in real estate

    And, more!

    TIP OF THE WEEK

Mark: My tip of the week is to learn more about marketing strategy at genevolpe.com.

Scott: One of the best things you can do with people is team building, like we get together and bond. We work in a remote environment and we don’t really bond, what if we could do Team-Bonding through Zoom. Check out the link, arc.dev/w/remote-game, if you go there for free, you can download a remote game called The Hike. Basically, it says 60-90 minutes, choose your own adventure path. The teams make decisions, they attempt to stay alive and have a good time in the process, get to work together, and get to know each other.

Gene: My tip is this 80/20 Sales and Marketing book by Perry Marshall, one of the things I struggled with personally is growing my business and even in Real Estate I’m getting the sense that for the symbol of Real Estate Agents, in my area it’s $68M a year in sales for Real Estate Agents are closed by me. It’s the sealing, and what I mean by that is that one person to handle that business sort of running out of time, If you’re not in Real Estate and if you’re selling land or you’re in a restaurant business, I want you to think about what do you think you’re sealing is. That sealing is “when and why am I running” and I start to realize that this is not what I got in this business because I’m working too many hours and I can’t seem to surpass this number. When you get to that point, read chapters 15 and 16 in this book and keep it real simple.

    TIP OF THE WEEK

Teria: My tip is for pictures, a website that has a really good quality called unsplash.com, they're free. You can download them. You can find that they may represent your property as long as you are clear in the property details. Another thing that we've done, we had someone go out to the property and take a video of it, and then create pictures from the video. We just run the video and take a screenshot. So we do hire someone to go out and take pictures and videos.

Scott: Check out this book called Believe It: How to Go from Underestimated to Unstoppable by Jamie Kern Lima.

Amira: Fundamentally, you have to manage your mind. Everything we are talking about here is how we control our thinking, the choices we make in our thinking, and determine the actions that we take so use your greatest power, which is your power to choose in favor of going for it, being unstoppable. TIP OF THE WEEK

Teria: My tip kind of gets along with our topic, it is by Peter Drucker, "What's Measured Improves", and I want to reiterate what you said that in the beginning, we didn't say, 'oh let's gather all of this', we started with the area where we wanted to improve. So we began collecting those metrics, without having the metric you kind of don't know how to improve.
