We have committed to documenting what we’ve learned in our lives as well as what we’ve learned from our clients and that’s why we started the Alive & Free Podcast…to offer whatever we can to other believers that don’t want to settle for mediocre connection in their lives and relationships. Interview with My Dad, the Alcoholic Sep 27, 2022

I interviewed my Dad.

He's an alcoholic.

I've had a ton of pain and neglect from childhood because of him.

His parenting has marked my life.

But he has also chosen to confront his biggest failures and pain and although our connection is a work in progress, I have so much respect for the humility that he lives his life with.

My dad was pretty distant, disconnected, disassociated for a lot of my childhood.

I felt like I was always the problem that needed to be fixed.

I always felt like there was something wrong with me and I felt like nobody will ever love me for me...the authentic "me".

The process I've walked through with my parents and my father has been a redemptive one.

And who better to tell this story than my father...and me.

A convo with my mom about family pain Sep 20, 2022

I felt codependent with my mom my whole life.

I felt like the only way to satisfy her was by shutting down my heart and emotions.

I had so much resentment towards her but DID NOT KNOW IT.

So I went through a healing process that lasted nearly a decade to no longer feel powerless and to connect with her.

I interviewed my mom this week for the podcast.

This is really cool because many of you have heard my story with my mom and the pain thatwe've walked through together as well as the childhood pain and codependency that we've healed from.

This episode is for those of you that want insights on how to navigate childhood pain with your parents in your adult life.

I get vulnerable.
