    When it comes to vehicular killings in this country, we aren't serious enough. Jaskirat Singh Sidhu was given eight years for killing 16 people in the Humboldt bus crash last year. Six months per life taken. In legal circles this is considered a tough sentence, but considering he is eligible for parole after only three years, the sentence seems much too soft.

    That is the gist of the boldest proposal that Budget 2019 puts forth to help more middle-income Canadians fulfill their homeownership dream.

    Under the new CMHC First-Time Home Buyer Incentive, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation would use up to $1.25 billion over three years to help lower mortgage costs for eligible Canadians.

    Father won’t face charges after girl subject of Amber Alert found safe: York police Mar 20, 2019

    Alex is joined by Linsday Lobb who is a Police Liason with the Canadian Centre for Child protection and they discuss yesterday's Amber Alert.

    A father sought by police after his five-year-old daughter became the subject of an Amber Alert will not be facing charges in the case, police said Wednesday.

    York regional police Const. Andy Pattenden said the 25-year-old man was taken into custody when the girl was found safe Tuesday afternoon within about an hour of the alert being issued.

    Pattenden said the man was released later the same evening without charges, and added that police do not currently anticipate laying any in the future.
