    Chemical Soup Nov 19, 2020
    Show notes

If your fish is sick do you make it wear a mask, or do you change the water?
We’re all swimming in a soup of toxic chemicals. The air we breathe, the food we eat, the water we drink, and the lotions and potions we put on our skin, and the dust under our beds, are contaminated with myriad toxins that can, over time, make us sick.
Just because they haven’t been proven to kill us doesn’t mean that they aren’t harming many of us when encountered frequently in our environment, with our endocrine system, babies in bellies, and our kids being particularly vulnerable.
It can be easy to ignore, or too overwhelming to change, but we’re approaching the tipping point where our health might not be able to take much more.
Enter Emma Rohmann. Our first solo non-ND guest with the smarts and ND-like integrative thinking to tackle this problem for you, your family, and future generations.

Yin in the Time of Yang Nov 13, 2020
    Show notes

Our culture and institutions have been overly focused on the masculine, and our approach to medicine is also reflective of this very imbalanced bias towards the masculine.
The masculine approach is like this -- fix this precise problem for me, now, then we’re done. It’s compartmentalized, it has an end point, a goal. Success is the achievement of the goal (the symptom is gone).
The feminine perspective understands that, in reality, we are constantly changing beings and our healing work is never really done. It is more of a holistic, process-oriented perspective.
In reality, we need BOTH. It is this AND that, not this OR that.
Join Jessika Marie and her husband Dr. Ben Snider ND as they help us weave a bit more yin into the yang in our discussion on the need to recognize the importance of the Divine Feminine in a more comprehensive and balanced approach to health and medicine.

    Beyond TSH Nov 05, 2020
    Show notes

When your thyroid is a bit sluggish, your brain tries to lash it into shape with a TSH-shaped whip.
But that doesn’t necessarily mean that the thyroid is going to do what your brain is telling it to do -- what if you’re low in B12, iron, or vitamin D?
Have you had a thyroid ultrasound?
What if you have an autoimmune disease such as Hashimoto’s going on?
What if your foundational lifestyle health practices such as sleep, nutrition, and stress management are the missing piece?
Join us for a conversation with Dr. Katie Rothwell ND as she goes beyond TSH and describes her 3 pronged approach to thyroid health.
