Bridgerton We Have Our Edmund May 31, 2021

Show notes

Bridgerton is on the National TV Awards long list waiting for us to vote. We have until June 4th at 11pm (BST). The show is up for the Best New Drama, and both Phoebe Dynevor and Rege-Jean Page are up for the Best Drama Performance.
Rege-Jean Page is on a roll! He’s the Tell Tale TV Awards Favorite Actor in a Cable or Streaming Drama Series (Final Round) winner!
Lucky lady, journalist Angelique Jackson, interviewed Rege for Variety Media to get the deets on the duke and life after Bridgerton.
Shondaland gifted us two bonus episodes with the weekly episode on it’s Bridgerton: The Official Podcast. We get insight on the pilot episode, the choreography, and the partnership between Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers. Plus, some submitted fan questions were answered by historian and consultant Dr. Hannah Greig.
Avon books started the Bridgerton Read-Along IG live discussion with of “The Viscount Who Loved Me” with authors Cathy Maxwell and Thien-Kim Lam. Julia Quinn was also present for a bit and discussed the pall mall scene.
Recently, Edmund has been found. Rupert Evans will be the Bridgerton patriarch for season two! Be ready for your heart to be ripped out!
There have been lots of Bridgerton pictures in the wild. Follow #Bridgerton to view them, even the photos that were posted and taken down by the cast. If Shondaland doesn’t give us more Edmund pictures, hopefully the fans will find him, haha! We'll be back with more buzzy updates. Until then, join us as we celebrate wins, wait for wins, and love that we have our Edmund!

Bridgerton Phoebe Ponders and Claudia Curses May 23, 2021

Show notes

We’re wondering too! Nicola, who manages the Whats App group account for the Bridgerton cast was asked if Rege-Jean was booted out because he’s not coming back.
Last chance to vote for “Bridgerton: Penelope is revealed as Lady Whistledown” to win the Virgin Media Must-See Moment of 2020. Voting closes at 5:00pm (BST) on 24th May.
We have until 8:00pm (EST) Thursday 27th May to vote for Rege-Jean, Nicola or Adjoa, and Bridgerton for the Tell-Tale TV Awards.
There was a major setback for easier filming, but the show must go on!
The cast is just as important as the set, so listen to Bridgerton: The Official Podcast for the episode on Kelly Valentine Hendry (KVH Casting) and her process.
Hope we all saw the skit of Claudia Jesse and Jonny Weldon which ends with her telling him to F#ck off!
Phoebe is now filming and we wonder if she’ll be lexting (letter-sex) with her Duke. She reveals what she knew and what she didn’t expect of her on-screen hubby not being on season two, but reminds us what that each book tells the story of each sibling.
We’re still hoping that one of our buzzy updates will be about the Duke, at least, lexting. Until then, join us as we continue to vote and celebrate the duchess being back on set!

Bridgerton Spin-off Series May 18, 2021

Show notes

What’s your favorite Colin/Food moments? Is it when he’s have tea at No.5? Actor Luke Newton tweeted the question the fans delivered!
Congratulations to Rege-Jean Page for his 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards win. Leslie Jones did a hilarious Bridgerton skit and even suggested what Lady Whistledown could do.
What we could do is vote for “Bridgerton: Penelope is revealed as Lady Whistledown” to win the Virgin Media Must-See Moment of 2020. Voting closes at 5:00pm (UK time) on 24th May. Also, don’t forget, we have until 21st May to vote for the TV Choice awards!
We hope to see many must-see moments when Shonda Rhimes delivers her spin-off series of a young Queen Charlotte, Lady Danbury, and Violet Bridgerton! Who doesn’t want to see how these naughty ladies become the influencers amongst the ton?
Chris Van Dusen had announced that he will continue to be the showrunner for season two, but Bridgerton veteran, Jess Brownell, will take over as showrunner for seasons three and four.
We’re grateful for everything CVD has done for the show and we’re grateful for him taking the time to like our tweet!
We’re also grateful for the two theater greats who were on the Bridgerton: The Official Podcast. Golda Rosheuvel and Adjoa Andoh were interviewed, and of course bringing us joy and sage advice.
This weekend, CVD, Phoebe Dynevor, and Nicola Coughlan were on Deadline’s Contenders Television Livestream Event. CVD stayed mum about anything season two, and our Daphne and Penelope recalled how the show changed their lives.
The show has probably changed our lives somehow, so if you have a burning question about season one, submit that question and it will possibly be answered on the official podcast.
The book covers have also been changed. There’s another version of the US Bridgerton covers to match the UK covers. For autographed copies, order from University Bookstore!
Cast and crew have been spotted all over the UK to film, and have fun (in Wales). Hopefully we get another Christmas Day release.
We’ll wait and see what else buzzy news we get this week. Until then, join us as we absorb all the amazingness of the spin-off news, and celebrate the Bridgerton universe!

Bridgerton TV Choice Awards May 10, 2021

Show notes

We all love the first two casted in the show #PenEloise, but have you seen #Penedict (or #PenBen)? They’ve been hanging out and taking the cutest photos!
PhotoOps would be fun with handsome men. Can we get in on finding iconic men as our careers with Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers?
Award season continues! We can vote every day until midnight of May 21st for the TV choice awards. Pay particular attention to the categories: Best Actress, Best Actor, and Best New Drama!
How much drama will season two’s Jack bring to town? There was a fan theory leading him to having a ward to introduce an important character from the series.
Let’s mark our calendars for Deadline’s Contenders Television Livestream Event virtual on May 15th starting 8:00am PT. The line up is great and long. Two of the shows our Duke, Rege-Jean Page, is connected to will be present. Remember to register!
Until then, join us as we set a daily alarm to vote for Bridgerton to win at the TV Choice awards!

Bridgerton Most Talked About Moment May 03, 2021

Show notes

Awards and reveals!
An award for awesome listeners should be a thing. Thank you to Alice who brought out some buzzy clean-up topics: gooseberry pie, the Hare and the Hound, and Madame Delacroix.
Helen Byrne wins the Aspire Design and Home magazine Best Use of Floral Design Award for her beautiful settings in the show. Plus, Bridgerton won the Best Costumes to Enhance Décor award.
Toni needs to learn a tad bit more about American football (she does watch the Super Bowls) than film settings. Wendy had to explain what the NFL Draft x Bridgerton collaboration was about. Have you seen the commercial?
Hopefully, the Virgin Media BAFTA’s Must-See Moment award will be won by Bridgerton for the shocking reveal at the end of season one! For UK residents, please vote!
Thank you to the UK resident(s) who took revealing pictures and proving that filming has commenced!
The release dates for seasons three and four have been announced. Hopefully production will stick to tradition and release this year…they’re already filming!
We’ll be waiting for more pictures. Until then, join us as we wait for Bridgerton to win the most talked about moment award!

Bridgerton MTV Awards Apr 25, 2021

Show notes

We’re officially in the short episode domain!
Hopefully, Nicola Coughlan and Kim K’s budding friendship continues to grow. We can relate as two fan girls fangirl about something they love! Wouldn’t it be great to get Lady Gabrielle Bridgerton-Wade in on the conversation?
The conversation may shift to getting more romance novels adapted. Like Shonda Rhimes said on the latest Bridgerton: The Official Podcast, “I don’t care who you are. You see yourself in these books.” That statement could be referenced for most (if not all) romance books!
Don’t forget to take a slight break from reading to vote for Bridgerton which was nominated for three 2021 MTV Move and TV awards. Winning all three would be welcomed, but we’ll take the win for best kiss!
Buzzy updates may be slow in the coming months, but at least they’re filming. Until then, join us as we get everyone to vote every day for the MTV awards!

Bridgerton After the Rain Apr 22, 2021

Show notes

The season ends with the Hastings Ball and the end of one vow to fulfill another!
It’s official, Bridgerton has started filming according to Lady Danbury, Adjoh Andoh. Plus, the show has been given the green light for seasons three and four!
We hope to see more of the bond between Eloise and her favorite brother in season three, Benedict’s story! At the meantime, Eloise’s theory had her asking Benedict and his lady friend some questions.
Season four was a must renewal because it’s the #Polin story. We got a reveal at the end of this season, we got to know how the creators reveal the secret to the ton.
Marina’s attempts last episode didn’t pan out and she got more unfortunate news. It wasn’t the right person, proposal, or situation, but she ended up engaged to someone who would support her.
The Mondrichs had a tough decision to make. An arrangement led to a sense of security (and jewelry) for them and the Featherington ladies, but it still came with a loss.
Anthony goes through his own loss by following Siena’s instructions to let her go. His broken heart leads him to the what type of viscountess he will be looking for next season, the kind he won’t fall in love with.
This season ends with Daphne and Simon part preparing to live apart, and part enjoying each other like their early weeks of their fake courtship. Daphne comes to understand Simon more which leads to a declaration of love and Simon’s options.
Obviously, Simon chose a happily ever after with Daphne. The epilogue of the story was a great way to end the episode by mimicking Simon’s birth for his first born, but with joy and love!
Thank you for bearing with during our journey through season one. We’ll keep a lookout for buzzy updates as the production films. Until then, join us as we breakdown episode eight “After the Rain!”

Bridgerton Ocean's Apart Apr 13, 2021

Show notes

We’re breaking down an emotional episode and we had some breaking news!
We now have a total of five new cast members and hopfully we get a Newton soon because Chris Van Dusen is also a part of the Newton Fan Club!
All of Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series have made the New York Times Bestsellers Monthly list, and six of eight are in the top ten! It seems that Avon books will be producing the books with a makeover so look out for those.
If you want details regarding season one intimacy scenes, then listen to the latest episode on Bridgerton: The Official Podcast.
Episode seven was full of symbolism, Greek mythology, and double meanings. We saw how the duke and duchess fight with their weapon of choice, but they still long for each other’s touch. We still got steamy scenes that would end in the reminder of a betrayal.
We find out how much Colin loved Marina, and the lengths Marina would go to fix her situation.
The situation we would love to be in was in the Den of Iniquity! It was full of merriment compared to the gentlemen’s club.
Benedict was questioning what it means to be a gentleman and how to live. We got to see him start to be “not bound by the rules of society” and Eloise got to see part of that.

Then we cry along with Daphne as her courses determine which course her and Simon will take!
We’ll be covering the last episode next. In case the buzzy updates slows, please email or message us what you would like us to do on the episodes. Would you like us to break down the books? Until then, join us as we breakdown episode seven “Ocean’s Apart!”

Bridgerton We Have Our Edwina Apr 05, 2021

Show notes

She’s finally here… Edwina has been announced! The lady with the beguiling eyes, Charithra Chandran, will be playing Kate’s younger half-sister as mentioned in an article from Deadline.com. The article also mentioned a new nob(ility) to the books named Jack. Our minds were whirling coming up with too-early-to-tell theories regarding who he’ll be connected to.
As requested, we dive into the lyrics of “Strange” by Kris Bowers, originally Celeste, featuring Hillary Smith which was played when Simon and Daphne consummated their marriage in episode five. How apt was that song for that moment in the show?!
Although the show was up against amazing shows during this year’s SAG awards and they didn’t win, they all looked damn good. The show did win at the Make-Up and Hairstylist Awards!
We may not have a ducal appearance next season, but we have a new character. Any changes that were made in season one were phenomenal and we can’t wait to see magic happen again in season two. Especially, seeing a dynamic couple come together!
We’ll definitely be looking out for a stream of happy, buzzy updates from the Bridgerton camp after the news we received this past week. Until then, join us as we celebrate the reveal of our Edwina Sharma!

Bridgerton Swish Mar 31, 2021

Show notes

Wendy and Toni are back with happy beginnings turning to scandalous endings!
The Duke and Duchess of Hastings could barely keep their hands off each other as they honeymoon at Clyvedon. Their affections have been seen and/or hear by the staff in various rooms of the castle. Their many trysts inside and outside the estate had Daphne curious, and she started asking questions. Daphne learning more about Simon’s history eventually lead to finding out how a woman was to become with child. Essentially, the honeymoon bliss and caresses were replaced with hurt and distance.
Another happy couple had announced their engagement until Lady Whistledown reported Marina’s secret that crushed Colin.
Penelope’s feelings were crushed also, but we did see the reunion of #PenEloise!
Recently, Rege-Jean Page adorably reacted to winning the NAACP Image Awards for Best Actor in a Drama Series. A few cast members have been casted in other projects. Things have been quiet, but we’ll do our best to gather some buzzy updates. Luckily, Anjoa Andoh had given us some season two insight. Until then, join us as we breakdown season one, episode six “Swish!”
