Syracuse survives furious rally from Notre Dame to win on Jim Boeheim Day Feb 25, 2024

Brent Axe chats live following Syracuse basketball's 88-85 win over Notre Dame at the JMA Dome on Saturday afternoon. The Orange had to survive a furious second-half rally from the Irish to hold on for the win. Notre Dame out-scored SU in the 2nd half 56-39 after SU led 49-29 at halftime. Brent discusses what led to the defensive breakdown and how the Orange were able to build up a big enough lead in the first half by cashing in 31 points off turnovers.

It was Jim Boeheim Day at the Dome with several former players in attendance, video tributes played throughout the day, a Boeheim banner raised to the rafters and a speech by Boeheim to the Dome crowd after the game.

Syracuse basketball holds on in final minutes for close win over NC State Feb 21, 2024

Syracuse.com's Brent Axe chats live following a 87-83 win for Syracuse basketball over NC State.

Mike Waters joins Brent to discuss how SU had to hang on for a win over the Wolfpack after building a 15-point halftime lead in Raleigh. Chris Bell scored 26 first-half points but did not score in the 2nd half. Quadir Copeland had 25 points for the Orange and was clutch for SU down the stretch. The Orange made 18-of-19 free throws against NC State.

Brent and Mike discussed the roller coaster ride a win like this was for Syracuse and the differences between the two halves of basketball. Mike also tells us why Chance Westry and William Patterson likely won't be getting on the court this season.

Jeff tells Brent and Emily why he took the job at Syracuse and about his memories of Syracuse football and connection with former OC George DeLeone. Upset! Syracuse basketball knocks off No. 7 North Carolina Feb 14, 2024

Brent Axe chats live following Syracuse basketball's 86-79 victory over No. 7 North Carolina at the Dome. It was Syracuse's first win over a Top 10 team since defeating Duke in January of 2019.

The Orange got a powerhouse performance from its backcourt with Judah Mintz (25) and JJ Starling (23) combining for 48 points. The Orange shot 63% against the Tar Heels, the first time UNC has allowed a team over 60% since 2015. Can this performance carry over through the rest of the season and how did it show Syracuse growing up as a team?

The students stormed the court at the Dome. Axe talked about why SU fans saying "act like you've been there before" need to get over it but does call out some other questionable behavior by the students during the game.

Joe Girard leads Clemson to victory in his return to Syracuse Feb 11, 2024

Brent Axe chats live following Syracuse basketball's 77-68 loss to Clemson on Saturday afternoon at the Dome.

Joe Girard made his return to the Dome and led the Tigers in scoring with 18 points. Syracuse fans certainly let Girard have it in terms of the boo birds (mostly from the student section) but Girard not only led Clemson in scoring, he reached 2,000 career points at the Dome on Saturday. Syracuse got back in the game in the 2nd half with a better defensive effort that led to 21 turnovers for Clemson, but couldn't get over the hump at the end. SU continues to have issues in the paint as it was out-rebounded 41-24. The Orange got out-rebounded 40-21 by Louisville on Wednesday.

Syracuse basketball responds to emotional week and survives close game against Louisville Feb 08, 2024

Brent Axe chats live following Syracuse basketball's 94-92 win over Louisville at the JMA Wireless Dome.

It's been an emotional week for Syracuse following Coach Adrian Autry's passionate press conference following SU's blowout loss to Wake Forest on Saturday and the news that junior forward Benny Williams had been dismissed from the team on Tuesday.

The Orange got away with one against Louisville as a goaltending call at the end of the game came under review and did not appear to be the right call. It was upheld and Syracuse got the win. Chris Bell dropped a career-high 30 points on Louisville and made a key defensive stop at the end of the game.
