SFP Interview: Castoff from Episode 10 of Survivor Cagayan May 02, 2014

Show notes

This week we interviewed Jefra Bland. She left the game in episode 10 of Survivor Cagayan. We did not get to see much of Jefra's game. We knew from LJ that she did discuss strategy with him, but for the most part she played a quiet, uneventful game with the one exception being her public criticism and declaration of distrust for Tony. He made sure she paid the price for finally speaking up. Listen to this interview to hear who she thinks is playing the best social game, details on other auction items we didn't get to see, what type of player will get her vote at the final tribal council and more!

Cagayan Episode 10 May 01, 2014

Show notes

The "Previously on Survivor" segment is usually a quick recap of past events, but every once in a while, they sneak in some new content. This was one of those weeks as we got to see more of a heated exchange between Jefra and Tony that occurred after LJ was voted out. This did not bode well for Jefra's future. This episode included the classic Survivor auction. These sometimes offer insights into how people are playing the game. Some castaways give in to temptation and choose the path of least resistance which is to buy food. The ones that are determined to win, save their money in hopes of buying an advantage in the game. For the first time in Survivor history, two people tied the bid for the "advantage" and drew rocks to see who would take it. That advantage really payed off, and resulted in the creation of one of the most powerful players in the game's history. Who do you think has played the best social game so far? Who still stands a chance of beating Tony? Is bidding on food ever your best choice at the auction? Who is your most and least likely final three at this point ? Who do you think will be the next to go?

Here is the merged tribe after episode 10. Solarrion:Kass, Spencer, Tasha, Tony, Trish and Woo

Cagayan Episode 9 LF Apr 26, 2014

Show notes

Wonder Woo survived! The preview fooled some of us, but we were all glad he didn't need to be medically evacuated. Tony got respect for finding the TPI with no clues, but the consensus is that this is an over powered twist that may take some of the suspense out of what has been a great season. Trish is gaining respect and fans, but it's not clear if her fellow castaways see what we do in her approach to the game. Support for Jefra and Kass is waning. Tasha gained more respect for yet another Immunity win. Prospects for her and Spencer are dwindling, but we know not to count Spencer out when he's down.

For each episode, we provide 3 podcasts: an episode recap, an interview with the castoff, and a chance for Survivor fans like yourself to sound off on what you saw and how you think the castaways are fairing in the game. Ten fans made the extra effort to share their thoughts on episode 9 and predictions for what we'll see next. We want to thank and acknowledge everyone who contributed to another great Listener Feedback show. This week we heard from: Ronda, Nicki, Sandi, Jill, Brian, Drew, Ken, Michael, Josh and Paul.

SFP Interview: Castoff from Episode 9 of Survivor Cagayan Apr 25, 2014

Show notes

This week we interviewed Jeremiah Wood. He left the game in episode 9 of Survivor Cagayan. Jeremiah was great in challenges and quite adept at killing chickens to feed his tribe. His game went sideways in the tribe shuffle when the beauties turned on each other. He did manage to outlast Alexis and Morgan, but finally fell prey to the majority alliance when he was the only one left without immunity. Listen to this interview to hear how long it took this superfan to get on the show, who he thinks is playing an underrated game, what criteria he will use to choose the winner and more!

Cagayan Episode 9 Apr 24, 2014

Show notes

When the pressure is on, Tony consistently delivers. We all wondered how he would manage the fallout from his big flip against LJ, and he wasted no time doing damage control, setting up surveillance and developing counter measures. Speaking of flip flopping, Jefra did herself no favors this episode as she see-sawed back and forth between alliances. The rest of the castaways stayed the course with their alliances. Tony's use of the TPI at TC was quite a display. He bluffed Spencer who ended up wasting his HII, and convinced everyone that he didn't really have the most powerful idol in the game. It doesn't get much better than that. The majority alliance is up by three and could afford to lose a member? Do you think a crack will form to give Spencer and Tasha hope? Who do you think will win the showdown between Spencer and Tony? Do you think Tony's guaranteed to be in the finale now that he has the TPI? Who do you think will play the auction strategically versus out of hunger? Who is your odds on favorite to win at this point and who has no chance? Who do you think will be the next to go?

Cagayan Episode 8 LF Apr 19, 2014

Show notes

In contrast to Morgan's exit, the blindside of LJ left most of us shocked and disappointed. He was a hands down JSFL favorite and had played a really great game from beginning to now. Unfortunately, he had become Tony's number one threat which meant he had to go. Reactions were mixed on what this "big" play by Tony would cost him in the long run. If Tony makes it to the end, he will certainly have quite a story to tell, but it's not clear how well it will be received by the jury. For now, we're all hoping Woo will be ok and can't wait to see what happens next!

SFP Interview: Castoff from Episode 8 of Survivor Cagayan Apr 18, 2014

Show notes

This week we interviewed LJ McKanas. He left the game in episode 8 of Survivor Cagayan. LJ was an early fan favorite. He appeared to be playing the game at a level above most of his beauty tribemates. His dry sense of humor was entertaining. He was great in the challenges, scoring several come from behind wins. Unfortunately, he placed his trust in the wrong person, and that cost him the game. Listen to this interview to hear how this long time fan got on the show, more background on the search for the immunity idols, what criteria he will use to choose the winner and more!

Cagayan Episode 8 Apr 17, 2014

Show notes

Forget Chaos Kass. She has nothing on Tony the Tiger. He eats chaos for breakfast and it tastes great! Tony is the kind of player you hope for if you end up in a minority alliance. He is trying to play so hard and so fast that he can convince himself to give up a sure thing and trade it for a lesser role just to accomplish his near term goals. It is only day twenty five. He must be counting on people having ten days left to cool off. Meanwhile, the brain tribe members are still in the game, and we may be looking at a shift in power as a new majority alliance of five takes control. How will Trish, Kass and Jefra handle the flip? Has Tony overplayed his hand? Will it be possible for him to win, or has he now become an unlikeable goat? Did Woo improve his chances or just become the bottom of a five person alliance? Who will Tony target next? Who do you think will be the next to go?

Cagayan Episode 7 LF Apr 12, 2014

Show notes

No one shed a tear over Morgan's exit. If anything she'll be referenced as a comparison for the extent of her shallowness. Spencer took us on a roller coaster ride. He seems to have as many ups and downs as Tony, but now he has an advantage. According to the feedback this week, Kass appears to be unaware how similar she actually is to Morgan when it comes down to being liked by fellow castaways. Wonder Woo remains a fan favorite, but LJ is hands down the favorite to win in JSFL now.

For each episode, we provide 3 podcasts: an episode recap, an interview with the castoff, and a chance for Survivor fans like yourself to sound off on what you saw and how you think the castaways are fairing in the game. SFP Interview: Castoff from Episode 7 of Survivor Cagayan Apr 11, 2014

Show notes

This week we interviewed Morgan McLeod. She left the game in episode 7 of Survivor Cagayan. She started the game by demonstrating she could think on her feet, but quickly found herself in the minority alliance. She slipped into complacency and took delight in having others wait on her. That blatant sense of entitlement and refusal to pull her own weight in camp made her a target and it finally took its toll on her tribemates. Listen to this interview to hear how she was chosen for the show, her take on being called lazy, what she will look for in a winner and more!
