San Juan Del Sur Episode 5 LF Oct 27, 2014

Show notes

The tribe swap certainly shook things up, but not everyone in this week's LF show is in agreement on the results. It does look a bit lopsided giving Hunahpu an advantage and the conspicuous couples vs singles result left some of you suspicious of foul play by the producers. Looks like quite a few of us will be picking Dale as next to go, again. We are all kind of wondering why folks at the Hunahpu camp are not able to find anything else to eat and are hoping Jeff really makes them pay the price for mismanaging their food.

For each episode, we provide 3 podcasts: an episode recap, an interview with the castoff, and a chance for Survivor fans like yourself to sound off on what you saw and how you think the castaways are fairing in the game. Ten fans shared their thoughts on episode 5 and predictions for what we'll see next. We want to thank and acknowledge everyone who contributed to another great Listener Feedback show. This week we heard from: Jill, Barbara, Rashmi, Kenny, Josh, Drew, IronDave, Kayla, Boston Mark and Paul.

SFP Interview: Castoff from Episode 5 of Survivor San Juan Del Sur Oct 23, 2014

Show notes

This week we interviewed Kelley Wentworth . She left the game in episode 5 of Survivor San Juan Del Sur. Kelley was considered by some to be a "dark horse" contender for this season. She single handedly spooked Drew into voting himself out, just by her sheer knowledge of the game. But luck often plays a significant role in Survivor, and unfortunately it was not on her side after the tribal shuffle. Listen to this interview to hear how she was cast, who she fingers for the food shortage, details on the critical alliance that she lost in the shuffle and more!

San Juan Del Sur Episode 5 Oct 23, 2014

Show notes

Wow, this batch of castaways continues to surprise us. The Hunahpu tribe appears to have adopted a "live only for today" attitude with no eye towards the future at all. We occasionally see tribes that mismanage their resources, but the original incarnation of this tribe has to be one of the worst offenders in the history of the game. The swap could not have come at a better time for Jon, Missy and Keith. Do you think New Coyopa will win any of the challenges? Who do you think will end up in control of each respective tribe after this swap? What's the most unlikely alliance you can imagine taking control of the game at this point? Who do you think will be the quitter now? Who do you think will be the next to go?

Here are the tribes after episodes 5. New Coyopa:Baylor, Dale, Jaclyn, Jon, Keith and Missy New Hunahpu:Alec, Jeremy, Josh, Julie, Natalie, Reed and Wes

San Juan Del Sur Episode 4 LF Oct 18, 2014

Show notes

We are four episodes in to this season, and according to this week's feedback, the general consensus is that we are watching remedial Survivor. The ongoing string of strategic blunders and all around general cluelessness suggests we will likely not see the level of game play we came to expect in Cagayan. That is not necessarily bad. It can certainly be entertaining to watch this group blunder their way through the game. The lack of strategic game play might just lead us into new territory. Who knows what they will come up with next.

For each episode, we provide 3 podcasts: an episode recap, an interview with the castoff, and a chance for Survivor fans like yourself to sound off on what you saw and how you think the castaways are fairing in the game. Sixteen fans shared their thoughts on episode 4 and predictions for what we'll see next. We want to thank and acknowledge everyone who contributed to another great Listener Feedback show. This week we heard from: Ronda, Mikeybear, BrandonA, Nicola, Samantha, Aaron, Rashmi, Drew, Becca, MikeK, Michael, Josh, Kayla, Jennifer, Barbara and Paul.

SFP Interview: Castoff from Episode 4 of Survivor San Juan Del Sur Oct 17, 2014

Show notes

This week we interviewed Drew Christy . He left the game in episode 4 of Survivor San Juan Del Sur. He was so convinced that the women in his tribe were out to get him that he single handedly created the very circumstances to make it a reality, turning his fears into a self fulfilling prophecy. Listen to this interview to hear how he was cast, why he volunteered for Exile Island, the full scoop on who else was in on throwing the Immunity Challenge and more!

San Juan Del Sur Episode 4 Oct 16, 2014

Show notes

Survivor has a history of casting people that believe beyond a shadow of a doubt in the story they have crafted for themselves. Coach and Secret Agent Underpants are two great examples of this castaway archetype. To have someone so in love with their own delusion, which includes just the right amount of intermittent reinforcement to keep it going, is bound to result in drama. They succeeded in casting another one this season, but thankfully he was an early boot and we will not have to listen to him all the way through final tribal council. With the recent fragmentation of male alliances, do you think we might see a female emerge as a more likely winner now? Is there a circumstance where you might ever choose to single handedly throw a challenge? How would you rate Keith's chances to making it to the end now that he has an HII? Who do you think will be the quitter now? Who do you think will be the next to go?

Here are the tribes after episodes 4. Coyopa:Alec, Baylor, Dale, Jaclyn, Josh and Wes Hunahpu:Jeremy, Jon, Julie, Keith, Kelley, Missy, Natalie and Reed

San Juan Del Sur Episode 3 LF Oct 11, 2014

Show notes

Reviews on Rocker's performance in the game were mixed. Some thought he acquitted himself well and others thought he played into expectations. No one will be surprised if Coyopa/Coochie-coo continues their downward spiral, and many of us are anxious to find out who's actually running the show in the Hunahpu/Honey-poo tribe.

For each episode, we provide 3 podcasts: an episode recap, an interview with the castoff, and a chance for Survivor fans like yourself to sound off on what you saw and how you think the castaways are fairing in the game. SFP Interview: Castoff from Episode 3 of Survivor San Juan Del Sur Oct 10, 2014

Show notes

This week we interviewed John Rocker. He left the game in episode 3 of Survivor San Juan Del Sur. He was the most controversial new castaway this season. He came to play, made several strategic moves and surprised many of us by finding the first Hidden Immunity Idol, but that was not enough to overcome his overall inexperience in the game. His past did come back to haunt him in the form of an attack prompted by Jeremy, but it was basic perception management in his own tribe that eventually became his undoing. Listen to this interview to hear how he was cast, new details on what we didn't see at the immunity challenges, an update on his relationship with the Twinnies and more!

San Juan Del Sur Episode 3 Oct 09, 2014

Show notes

One of the most embarrassing scenarios any castaway can imagine is to get blindsided while holding an immunity idol. It can be a tricky situation to make that judgement call. We have seen some amazingly bold displays in recent seasons where people have held them and got away with it. What do you think about how Rocker's story played out in the game? Have your perceptions changed from before the season began? Will Coyopa be able to turn it around and get an immunity win now? Is Josh in control of the alliance? Where do you think the story is headed with Drew? Who do you think will be the quitter now? Who do you think will be the next to go?

San Juan Del Sur Episode 2 LF Oct 04, 2014

Show notes

A lot of fans had high hopes for Val, but her rocky start put her on the outside of her tribe and her over the top attempt to bluff her way back in was too much, too soon. Keith continues to delight. Josh's choices and explanations are sometimes perplexing. Jeremy remains an early favorite, and we are lead to believe the drama is going to ratchet up in episode 3 thanks to Rocker.

For each episode, we provide 3 podcasts: an episode recap, an interview with the castoff, and a chance for Survivor fans like yourself to sound off on what you saw and how you think the castaways are fairing in the game.
