Ghost Island Week 6 LF Apr 08, 2018

Show notes

Based on this week's feedback, this episode was clearly the highlight of the season so far! With lots of action on the HII front, something significant finally happened at Ghost Island, and most importantly a very satisfying blindside of one of the more arrogant castaways there was lots to celebrated and discuss. Now, the game is shifting to the merge, and we can't wait to see how that plays out!

We want to thank and acknowledge everyone who contributed to another great Listener Feedback show. This week we heard from: Pete, Myra, Shea, Sophie-n-Leila, Beth, Rashmi, Chris, Mike, Marlan-n-Sarah, Drew, Judy, Kenny, Parker, Josh, Jill, Jody, Jack, Jen, and Jeremiah.

We've got several ways you can reach us. You can call and leave a voicemail at 206-350-1547 or toll-free at 844-643-8737. You can record an audio comment and attach it or just type up a quick text message and send it to us via email at joannandstacyshow@gmail.com.

Ghost Island Week 6 Recap Apr 05, 2018

Show notes

Wow, that was a jam packed episode! After what seemed like an extended lull in the gameplay, we got two new HIIs and a new advantage in play now. To top it off, a "comeuppance counter" that started ticking three weeks ago finally expired and one of the entitled, OG Naviti finally got blindsided! Let's kick this thing into overdrive now. Bring on the merge! If you were in Dominick or Chelsea's shoes, who would you have chosen to vote out? How do you think the original Naviti will react? Who do you think is playing the best? Who impressed you the most this week? Who do you think will be next to go?

Here are the tribes after week 6. New New Malolo:Angela, Desiree, Kellyn, and Michael New New Naviti:Chelsea, Dominick, Donathan, and Libby Yanuya: Chris, Jenna, Laurel, Sebastian, and Wendell

Ghost Island Week 5 LF Mar 31, 2018

Show notes

The blindside hit several fans right in the feels this week. We are now far enough along that several favorites and villians have emerged. There is also still a significant middle ground where quite a few castaways are lingering though. We hope that the split into three tribes will yield some new insight into their games as we move forward to the merge. Until then, we are excited to see what comes next!

Ghost Island Week 5 Recap Mar 29, 2018

Show notes

Michael may be on to something. The curse of Malolo beach may be real. Do you think he has realized that he is the other common element in this unfortunate theme? The editors pulled a fast one on us again, presumably to keep it entertaining. What do you think about the episodes that end and you realize that they chose to withhold a critical detail so the outcome wasn't obvious prior to Tribal Council. We can't be far from the merge now. Bring on the next episode! Who would you target when faced with a choice of someone in your alliance that leaves you unsure if you can trust them versus someone in the minority alliance that represents physical strength for the tribe in challenges? Who do you think is playing the best, and who is still in jeopardy of being voted out before the merge? Who impressed you the most this week? Who do you think will be next to go?

Here are the tribes after week 5. New New Malolo:Angela, Desiree, Kellyn, and Michael New New Naviti:Bradley, Chelsea, Dominick, Donathan, and Libby Yanuya: Chris, Jenna, Laurel, Sebastian, and Wendell

Ghost Island Week 4 LF Mar 25, 2018

Show notes

The consensus from the fans is in on the "Ghost Island/Reverse the Curse" concept, and it's not good. To date, it has completely underwhelmed and under delivered. At this point, most of us would be happy to see it fade away. We will refer to it as "Rice Island" until something significant changes. Many were sad about the latest vote-out, but we remain hopeful that the coming shuffle will reinvigorate the game!

Ghost Island Week 4 Recap Mar 22, 2018

Show notes

"The Pagonging's will continue until the New Malolo tribe's performance improves!", (or another tribe shuffle happens). There was no need for a blindside this week. It came down to a simple risk assessment for the remaining three original Malolos. There is still time for it to deliver some excitement, but at this point, the Ghost Island concept is a bust. We look forward to the shuffle and the potential for surprises and excitement that it brings next week. Who would you have targeted for the vote out this week? How do you think another tribal shuffle will affect the game at this point? Who do you think is playing the best, and who is still in jeopardy of being voted out before the merge? Who impressed you the most this week? Who do you think will be next to go?

Ghost Island Week 3 LF Mar 18, 2018

Show notes

The recognition for Michael's impressive TC pitch was unanimous this week, but several folks had ideas for how to improve their chances for success. Several castaways were highlighted for their skillful gameplay and it looks like we now have a solid villain for the season too. The comeuppance countdown has begun! We are all excited to see what happens next.

Ghost Island Week 3 Recap Mar 15, 2018

Show notes

Another week, and we got another Survivor classic blindside! This week, Michael made our list of castaways we had previously under estimated. His plan for the HII was truly inspired. Turns out Chelsea's not purple after all. We finally got to see a little of her game this episode, and it looks like she might be a player. We're excited to see what happens next! Did your assessment of any of the castaways change this week? What did you think of Michael's plan? How would you have used it? Who do you think is playing the best, and who is still in jeopardy of being voted out before the merge? Who impressed you the most? Who would you have kept? Who do you think will be next to go?

Ghost Island Week 2 LF Mar 11, 2018

Show notes

Based on the feedback, the early game shuffle caused a lot of unintended confusion for the fans this week. The other recurring theme in the feedback is that Ghost Island appears to have started with a bit of whimper. Given that the castaways are required to break the "urns" in a specific order, we are puzzled why production chose to start with an advantage you have to give away and two instances of nothing to do. Perhaps they were worried about introducing too many advantages/idols at once, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to start so weakly either. The blindside really helped redeem the overall assessment of the episode, and we're ready for the next one.
