David vs. Goliath Week 2 LF Oct 07, 2018

Show notes

The themes that stood out in this week's feedback include: the stunning lack of awareness that a couple of Goliath's continue to demonstrate, the number of rewinds that the "play in the sand" line triggered, and that this episode was a natural extension and conclusion to week one. This cast appears to be off to a great start. Many fans mentioned how much they're enjoying them even if some of them do not seem to be particularly aware of how to play the game to win it. We all eager for more. Wednesday night can't get here quick enough!

We want to thank and acknowledge everyone who contributed to another great Listener Feedback show. This week we heard from: Pete, Mike, Shea, Taz, Mike, Parker, Nicola, Nathan, Eliza, Drew's Crew, Mrs. C, Kim-n-Cameron, Sophie, Josh, KimJ, BrandonA, BrandonB, Jen, and Paul.

David vs. Goliath Week 2 Recap Oct 04, 2018

Show notes

They packed a lot into a normal, one hour episode this week and we enjoyed every minute of it. You know it's coming when the smirks and over zealous smiles start at Tribal Council. Next we get the grand proclamations for how to play the game and admonitions for not realizing the threat staring their target in the face. The Survivor gods don't like arrogant speeches or gloaters and love to make examples of castaways that get too far ahead of themselves before the votes have been cast. Did you feel the sting of that blindside? How do you think it will affect the minority alliance in that tribe? Who continues to impress you and who do you think is most at risk? How do you feel about seasons where one tribe "Pagongs" the other? Who impressed you the most? Who do you think will be next to go?

Here are the tribes after week 2. David:Bi, Carl, Christian, Davie, Elizabeth, Gabby, Lyrsa, and Nick Goliath:Alec, Alison, Angelina, Dan, Jeremy, John, Kara, Mike, Natalia, and Natalie

David vs. Goliath Week 1 LF Sep 30, 2018

Show notes

It's time to get the super fan's assessment on the first episode of season 37. While the mede-vac was a sad shocker, we were all very positive on the character development this introduction provided. Lots of folks were surprised and tickled at Dan's day one antics, but some still hold out hope. We are excited for Wednesday night when we get the next installment of our favorite show!

David vs. Goliath Week 1 Recap Sep 27, 2018

Show notes

Survivor season 37, David vs. Goliath, got off to a great start with one sad exception. Dan surprised us the most, but not for a necessarily good reason. We enjoyed the challenges, although the first one was basically rigged. We enjoyed getting to see all the social interactions too. This first episode should probably be about 3 hours, right? What did you think of the first challenge on the boat? How do you think the theme will affect this season's castaways? How did your assessment of the castaways change once you saw them in action? Who do you think is playing the best, and who is still in jeopardy of being voted out before the merge? Who impressed you the most? Who do you think will be next to go?

Here are the tribes after episode 1. David:Bi, Carl, Christian, Davie, Elizabeth, Gabby, Jessica, Lyrsa, and Nick Goliath:Alec, Alison, Angelina, Dan, Jeremy, John, Kara, Mike, Natalia, andNatalie

Show notes

We have reached the end again. Today, we gather one last time to share our final impressions and thoughts on season 36, Survivor Ghost Island. Much like last season, the finale got mixed reviews. It basically boiled down to who you were cheering for: Dom or Wendell. The overall season got mixed reviews too. Ghost Island Finale Recap May 24, 2018

Show notes

This season really needed something to help redeem the mediocre second half. The finale included another first in Survivor history, and one of the best bluffs we have ever seen at a Tribal Council. The pacing was rapid with back to back to back Immunity Challenges and stole a half hour from the Reunion show to finish out the season. But would it be enough? What did you think of the challenges? Who's gameplay impressed you the most? Were you happy with the end result? What did you think of the shortened Reunion show? What's your take on the season as a whole? Where does it rank against the other 35? What's your first impression of season 37, David vs. Goliath?

Congratulations to our JSFL Winners, Ian and Nans who tied with 132 points!

The JSFL side challenger's scores are: Jeremiah won with 126 points. JKindred: 114, Jonathan: 113, ColdMike: 95, KittyCat: 93, James-n-Shannon: 90, Stacy: 88, BrandonA: 76, Parker: 61, and Randy 52. Jeremiah will pick a song for Randy to write a parody based on this season's events and sing for us.

Ghost Island Week 12 LF May 20, 2018

Show notes

Just as the super fans predicted last week, the penultimate episode delivered another "lackluster" performance from Laurel and Donathan who only managed to conjure up more "veiled" threats, squandered any remaining "win equity" they had mustered at the merge, and watched the last of their "social capital" circle the drain. All hope is not lost though. We are looking forward to a few more surprises in the finale!

We want to thank and acknowledge everyone who contributed to another great Listener Feedback show. This week we heard from: Pete, Ann, Mike, Shea, David, Ed, Sohpie, Susan, Drew, Jack, Parker, BrandonA, Christiana, Slappy McGee, Kim-n-Cameron, Josh, Jacqueline, Jeremiah, and Paul.

Ghost Island Week 12 Recap May 17, 2018

Show notes

"Trusting your gut" does not amount to much if you have not laid the foundation with a solid social game. Challenges that result in clear "pecking order" events should be part of every episode after the merge. What did you think of Sebastian's remora speech? Can you see a clear way for Lauren to "split votes and cut throats"? Did Donathan shoot himself in the foot, or is their redemption on the horizon? Who's going to end up in the fire making challenge at final four? Who impressed you the most this week? Who are you cheering for to win?

Here is the merge tribe as we head into the finale. Lavita:Angela, Domenick, Donathan, Laurel, Sebastian and Wendell
