Show notes

Calling all Survivor Fans! Survivor is back for it's 19th season, and we like to kick things off with our JABBIC, "Judge a Book by its Cover", show. We want to hear what you think about the 20 new contestants for Survivor Samoa.Study the pictures at cbs.com, read their bios, watch the videos and let us know how well you think they will do this season. We want to hear about who you had the strongest reaction to. Don't think too long about it, just go with your "first impression".

Who's your pick for the first one voted out? Go out on a limb, and tell us who you think will win it all. Which ones do you think will make the merge and who just doesn't stand a chance? Who's a mactor and who's a true fan? Send your impressions to us by 5pm PST on Thursday, September 10th, and we'll include them in part 2 of the JABBIC show for everyone to hear.

We've got several ways you can share your thoughts about the new castaways with everyone. You can call and leave a voicemail at: 206-350-1547. You can record an audio comment and attach it or just type up a quick text message and send it to us via email at joannandstacyshow@gmail.com. Lastly, there's a link for comments on the web page here. You can click that link and post your thoughts out there for everyone to see.

If you're interested in participating in the JSFL, our own, private Survivor fantasy league, you can register at the new JSFL website:

JSFL Registration. The prize this season will be similar to last season, e.g. a Survivor t-shirt or buff. Not sure what the JSFL is? Check out the links section below for the rules we will be using and the results from last season.

We like to use Mad Sumo's "On the Grill" as our intro and outro tune for the JABBIC shows. 00:02 Date 00:04 On the Grill by Mad Sumo 00:42 It's JABBIC Time! 04:19 JSFL Registration 11:52 On the Grill by Mad Sumo

SFP Interview: Stephen Fishbach from Survivor Tocantins May 18, 2009

Show notes

Today we interviewed Stephen Fishbach. He was runner up for Survivor Tocantins. He was described early on as "the nerdy, shy guy who helps everyone". He parlayed that unassuming image into one of the greatest, powerhouse buddy alliances in Survivor history proving without a doubt that you can't always go on first impressions. Listen to this interview to find out how he felt after receiving no jury votes, why he came dangerously close to be being medically evacuated, his strategy for immunity challenges as well as the Hidden Immunity Idol and much more!

Show notes

Today we interviewed Erinn Lobdell. She left the game in 3rd place during the finale of Survivor Tocantins. Erinn was marked for elimination by her tribemates in the 2nd episode, and she outplayed, outwitted, and outlasted every single one of them. Her pragmatic approach to the game and her great sense of humor made her a delight to watch and a favorite of many. Listen to this interview to find out how she was chosen for the show, why she's so good at puzzles, how she planned to handle JT or Stephen in a final Tribal Council and much more!

Her confessionals and reaction shots during Tribal Council provided some of the best comedic moments of the season, and demonstrated that she was also a shrewd strategist. Listen to this interview to find out how she was chosen for the show, if she has worked through her hurt feelings toward JT and Stephen, her plans for the HII she never played and much more!

Tocantins Finale May 18, 2009

Show notes

For only the 2nd time in Survivor history we had a unanimous vote for the winner. Were you as surprised as we were by that? Did you agree with the decision to get rid of Taj in 4th? Would it really have been a no brainer to take Erinn to the end too?

Congratulations to Debbie A, winner of the Survivor Tocantins JSFL! She jumped from an 8 way tie for 12th to the #1 spot by not only guessing the final four order correctly but also picking JT as her original USB before the first episode ever aired and sticking with him till the end.

We'll record the final Listener Feedback show for Survivor Tocantins on Thursday, May 21st at 5pm. We would love to hear your take on the finale, the reunioun show, and the season as a whole. Does Survivor Tocantins make your top 10 list?

We've got several ways you can reach us. You can call and leave a voicemail at 206-350-1547. You can record an audio comment and attach it or just type up a quick text message and send it to us via email at joannandstacyshow@gmail.com. SFP Interview: Castoff from Episode 13 Survivor Tocantins May 16, 2009

Show notes

This week we interviewed Coach Ben Wade. He left the game in episode 13 of Survivor Tocantins. Coach was sure he was in control of the game from the first day, but there always seemed to be someone else behind the scenes really calling the shots. Listen to this interview to find out if he thinks he ever lied, why no family member came to visit, if he really hates women and much more!

Tocantins Episode 13 May 15, 2009

Show notes

Ah, the episode many of us have waited for has finally arrived. Was it what you hoped for? Do you think his exit was noble and in keeping with how he said he'd "change the game"? Did you buy the stories about asthma and ruptured discs?

Stephen did not vote with JT. Do you think they really will make final 2 together? Who would JT pick if he wins the final immunity if not Stephen? Does Erinn really have a chance if she doesn't win the next two immunity challenges?

Here is the merged tribe after the thirteenth episode: Forza: Erinn, JT, Stephen, Taj

We both still think Stephen is in a good position to win. Who do you think will be the sole survivor?

Reminder: JSFL picks for the finale will be due on Saturday, May 16th at 1pm Pacific time. If you have a question about JSFL, send an email to jsfl.admin@gmail.com to let us know, and we'll do our best to get you an answer. Not sure what the JSFL is? The Coach Song I know I'm the greatest player I have ever seen. I'm coach McBoast of Survivor Tocantins I know my talents may seem so unreal Even I confuse myself with the man of steel I'm the most desirable of all the guys I can even vote off people with just my eyes My strategies are so dangerous Cause I'm the only one with death defying life experience The coach persona is really just a sham I just pretend to be the renaissance man If they find out I'm all boast and no bite They're gonna send me off to Exile tonight I don't want to prove myself Oh what a fright They're gonna send me off to Exile tonight

Tocantins Episode 12 LF May 12, 2009

Show notes

We were pretty evenly split on this last episode. Half of us liked it and about half didn't. The same can be said for our response to the way the family visit works now. Some of us long for the days when it really added some drama because not everyone got a visit. The other half really enjoys getting to see all the family members and how the castaways react to them. The one thing we all seemed to agree on though is our reaction to coach/ex-coach/roach/hoax/himself/Gilderoy/topper. For each episode, we provide 3 podcasts: an episode recap, an interview with the castoff and a chance for Survivor fans like yourself to sound off on what you saw and how you think the castaways are fairing in the game. Twenty four fans who love to talk about Survivor called, wrote or recorded their thoughts for us this week on episode 12 and as well as their predictions for what we'll see in the next episode.
