25: How Your Period Affects Your Business with Stasha Washburn Aug 05, 2016
    Show notes

Let's face it, ladies, there's something about that time of the month that makes us crazy, crampy, irritable, sleepy, creative, horny, hungry… and that barely scratches the surface. For most of us, the emotions and discomfort are something we just deal with, even if it causes us great pain and totally throws a wrench in our days. Such was the case for years for Stasha Washburn, aka The Period Coach, who endured severe cramps and fainting spells caused by her periods. Eventually, Stasha, formerly a dancer, had enough and decided that there must be a way to heal herself and to stop simply accepting her symptoms as "normal."

Through research, adjusting her diet and establishing new daily routines, such as her thai-chi practice, she discovered what worked best for her. And when she shared her story with other women, she learned that she wasn't alone. With the help of a straightforward business coach, Stasha realized that calling herself, at first, a hormonal balance expert, wasn't her thing. She decided her mission is to end the taboo around menstruation and to do so as The Period Coach.

In this episode, Stasha tells us how to approach our periods, how to be empowered to ask for what we need and how to continue to prosper by learning the ways your flow affects your business.

    On this episode you'll learn:

The top 3 issues most women entrepreneurs have because of their periodsIs your "bitchiness" bad for business? How your flow affects your…flow. How changing your perspective of your period can empower you to make better decisions. The four phases of your cycle and what questions you need to ask during each phase.Figuring out what your passion is by asking what pisses you off.

22: Teju Owoye on Tinkering Until You Get It Right Aug 02, 2016
    Show notes

Have you ever started a business -- one that you absolutely love, but that has yet to make any money and that you can't quite figure out? Have you ever thought, maybe I'm not on the right track, or maybe I am, who's to say?!

In this conversation with Teju Owoye, CEO of Sulte Group and host of Teju.TV, she tells about the importance of continuing to experiment until you get it right, whether that's with your current business or some other iteration of it. You want to have a plan, but you never know exactly how it's going to work out, because going from point A to point B rarely happens in the real world of entrepreneurship. Instead it's more like A, Z, X, K...and then who knows?

Before figuring out what worked for her, Teju ended up going broke and moving back in with her parents. Her zig-zagged journey to discovering her own zone of genius included considering grad school, reading a ton of books, modeling the behavior of those who were doing what she wanted to to, and tinkering along the way. Another thing Teju did? Leapt! And on this episode she goes into the lessons she learned on the way down (and how she tried to make a parachute out of a straw and a watermelon).

    On this episode, you'll learn:

Entrepreneurship is an art.Ask yourself some key questions to help you figure out what you're supposed to be doing. What do I feel like I should be contributing to the worldWho am I?What's the ideal day for you?Who's already doing what you want to do?What's the next best step you can take? When creating a product, determine what problem you're solving for your customer.
