    This is Superlative: A Podcast about watches, the people behind them, and the worlds that inspire them. This week our host Ariel Adams is joined by Charles Marin of La Reserve Agencies. Ariel starts the show with having Charles explain what an agent in the industry is, what his job role entails, and his background that lead him to the role. They talk about why an agent for luxury watch brands would be headquartered in Barbados, and what the difference between a distributor and an agent is. They talk about the ambition of brands not always matching the amount they are willing to fund, they talk about some of the brands that Charles represents and works with such as Laurent Ferrier, HYT Watches and they get into HYT’s relaunch. Charles chats about why he chooses to work with these brands, and where his relaxed demeanor as an agent comes from. Ariel talks about smart watch users making the leap to traditional time pieces, and what he believes the future of their impact on luxury products and brands.
