Ariel and Chad start the show by touching on their previous episode of Superlative that aired back in November of 2020 and what has changed in the industry over the last four years since that podcast.

Chad gives the listener a breakdown of what Watch Gang does, and how it has evolved over the years to what it is today. They dig into the different tiers, and giveaways that Watch Gang has such as giving away a Rolex every week, and Ariel asks about their initial plan on creating revenue with this type of business model. THE DYNAMISM OF TAG HEUER TODAY WITH CAROLE KASAPI AND NICHOLAS BIEBUYCK May 27, 2024

This week on the Superlative Podcast, host and aBlogtoWatch Founder Ariel Adams is talking with Carole Kasapi and Nicholas Biebuyck of TAG Heuer. Carole is currently the Movements Director at TAG Heuer, while Nicholas is the Heritage Director. To start the show Ariel dives right into Watches and Wonders 2024 with our guests and their spirits a few days before the event as this episode was recorded before the show took place. Ariel has Nicholas and Carole expand on TAG’s current return to bespoke movements and higher end creation with their new TAG HEUER MONACO SPLIT-SECONDS CHRONOGRAPH. Nicholas and Carole talk about their plans for expanding on their new innovations while working with outside help to craft their new in house movement, and what the future of “Made in-house” looks like for the company. Ariel asks about the difference between a design department today that is heavily and directly involved with testing, and a design department from a previous generation where real world use fell short with testing not being a major focus. Nicholas talks about TAG’s internal “institute” where the research and development teams can consolidate under the same operation, and Ariel asks Carole about the future of high-end Quartz watches for TAG Heuer.

As the show begins, Ariel has Adrian describe all of his different duties and titles at Luxury Bazaar and Adrian elaborates on how their salespeople have to wear a few different hats at the company. Adrian talks about the impact of social media on the sales industry and how crucial of a tool it is for businesses to get their voice and story to customers today. Ariel touches on the skill of public speaking and how it has now shifted to the medium of social media, and Adrian talks about some of the different shows and programs that Luxury Bazaar offers such as their Gray Market Podcast on YouTube (Linked Below). As they continue to elaborate on the importance and impact of social media, Ariel asks about the feedback and outreach that they see when promoting or focusing on smaller brands and models as opposed to the more mainstream names of the industry. The two talk about the effect that hands-on experiences have for customers and how the industry can begin to prioritize and implement that experience for consumers. As the show comes to a close, Ariel has Adrian dive into some of the sales programs and options that are available to customers at Luxury Bazaar, and what kind of customer is best served by Adrian and the rest of the team.

COLLABORATION TALK WITH MATT FARAH AND NODUS WATCHES Apr 08, 2024

This week on the Superlative Podcast, host and aBlogtoWatch Founder Ariel Adams is actually taking over The Smoking Tire’s studio in a special episode where Ariel talks with Matt Farah of The Smoking Tire, and Wesley Kwok and Cullen Chen of Nodus Watches.

Ariel asks Matt and Welsey how their relationship came to be, and why Nodus Watches were interested in collaborating with Matt. Matt dives into how he began his relationships with watch brands in general as they look at The Smoking Tire’s history with watch brands. Wesley talks about some of the steps and challenges in producing a watch built out of collaboration, and their unique strategy in how they invested in the growth of the brand by going the collaboration route. Ariel asks Matt and Wesley about how they were able to infuse “Matt Farah” and “The Smoking Tire” into the Canyon watch without making it overbearing, or an element that overshadows the watch itself.

STOKING THE FIRE WITH JONNY GARRETT OF WILLIAM WOOD WATCHES Apr 01, 2024

This week on the Superlative Podcast, host and aBlogtoWatch Founder Ariel Adams is joined by Jonny Garrett, the Founder of William Wood Watches. To start the show Ariel has Jonny dive into his podcast channel where he offers some of his knowledge and guidance to young entrepreneurs and anyone who is eager to learn. Jonny elaborates on the brand being a Firefighter themed luxury watch brand from London in honor of Jonny’s late grandfather, William Wood. Ariel and Jonny talk about the importance of the FireFighting professionals everywhere, and especially those who helped keep California safe during their recent fires that Ariel experienced first hand. Ariel asks Jonny about building a “fireproof” watch, and where William Wood Watches is at in the progression of that idea. The two talk about events and shows that Jonny and the brand are visiting that seem to be smaller gatherings of watch brands and consumers, but how instrumental they are in the industry right now. Ariel asks about Jonny’s travel requirements and busy lifestyle that he sees commonly affect other entrepreneurs in Jonny’s position, and how Jonny is able to combat the roadblocks that may occur with this lifestyle. As the show comes to an end, Ariel transitions the conversation back to the brand being Firefighter themed and how they are able to implement that theme without going overboard or making crucial design mistakes.
