I was a total dreamer. My head was always in the clouds and most of the time I was thinking about the perfect relationship. I lived, breathed and ate soap operas and I had billions of love songs saved on my computer and phone. I read nothing but Romance novels in class and most of my teachers were frustrated with me for never paying attention to anything they said. I was too caught up in my fantasies to care.

I was sixteen years old and I had a few boyfriends in the past but we never lasted more than two months. I always ended up finding someone else more interesting and I was frustrated that they did not live up to the characters in my books and movies.

I know everyone thinks that they have the best Mum and Dad in the world. But I really did. My life couldn’t have been any more perfect. I was 10 years old and I had been happy for my whole life. But that all stopped one day, the day my world came crashing down, and it was all Mum’s fault.

I guess you could say I was one of the luckiest girls in the world. My Dad was one of the kindest, most generous, loving guys in the world and Mum was just as nice. Dad owned an orphanage and looked after hundreds of children. He cared for them all, as if they were his own children. Everyone said what a good guy he was. He helped out in our community too, fundraising and basically just doing whatever he could to make everyone’s lives better.

Usually these stories about how people become millionaires always start off with the people claiming they lived a poor life, they were so miserable, etc. But, actually, with me, that’s not how it started out. I wasn’t rich - definitely not. But I was happy. My family and I could afford small holidays sometimes, and we didn’t really need to be too concerned about getting food on the table and a roof over our heads. We weren’t poor, but we weren't rich either. We were somewhere in the middle.

I hated going to school. My life was miserable, I couldn’t help being a computer whizz kid could I? I was a 14 year old boy with zero friends. All the boys in school thought I was a nerd and bullied me. So I decided I would take matters into my own hands, that's why I decided I would hack into the school’s database and change my life.

It was the last day of term, the end of the school year. Finally I had something to look forward to, the school holidays. But first I had to get through one more day at school. I picked up my school bag and set off, I walked to school alone as I did every day. Nobody wanted to walk with the computer nerd. That's what they called me.

“Charlotte! Charlotte!” my mother bolted through the door one afternoon. I was sitting at the dining room table helping my seven-year-old brother Jayden with his home-work. “What’s wrong mom?” I asked, startled by her sudden intrusion.

Hi! My name’s Abraham and I’m sixteen years old. You might think that my name is quite old fashioned and there’s a reason for that. I’m Amish. I was born in a village in Pennsylvania to a loving mom named Hannah and a strict father named Isaac. I have ten other siblings and even though we lived a simple lifestyle, we were quite happy.

We didn’t have electricity, running water, or the internet. It was strictly prohibited for us to ride in cars, trains and buses so I had no idea what that was like. We couldn’t have cameras and photos were also forbidden – so we didn’t even have a family portrait. But we still had fun. After I finished my chores I usually met up with the other guys my age and we played baseball – this was our favorite sport and we were really good at it.

Mrs. Davis was the best mother a girl could ask for. She would always tell me the story of how she found me. She said one night right before closing up she heard the sounds of a crying baby. After searching, she found me wrapped in a blanket in a basket. The only things she found in the basket was a locket and a note asking her to take care of me and the name my mother had chosen, Brittany.

One afternoon while sitting watching the television Mrs. Davis received a phone call that changed everything.

“Hello,” Mrs. Davis said as she placed the phone by her ear.

She listened to the person on the other end of the phone and every so often added a “hmmmmm” and an “ok”.

Growing up, I lived a normal life. I was like every other kid. I went to school, spent time with my friends and family, had crushes on people.

But then, when I was 15, something happened that was like out of a fiction novel. Something that changed my life forever.

I was at a bank with my mom, and we were taking out some cash because the next weekend we were gonna go on a trip to the countryside. My mom was at the counter, talking to the staff member, and I was sitting in the waiting room quietly. There was a small bowl of sweets on the table, and I was about to lean over and grab some when suddenly alarm bells rang and five robbers stormed in!

What’s your favorite food? Let me guess, pizza, dumplings, tacos? I mean those are the kinds of food that people normally like. Some are a sweet tooth and prefer ice-creams and cakes and some like savory food. But I, well, I like eating money, in fact, it is my addiction and to be honest, I cannot go even a single day without eating money. Weird, right? I know, but there’s a long history to this addiction of mine.

It all started when I was sixteen. I was a stupid, naïve teenager who just wanted to look beautiful and be in love. However, I was a litter on the chubbier side so I wasn’t very attractive according to others and the only highlight of my life was getting bullied, like a lot.

I Saw My Babysitter's Search History, Instantly Regretted It May 01, 2022

Do you know the kind of movies where the babysitter is a psycho? Those movies had traumatized me since I was a kid and because of that, I had no interest in having a babysitter whatsoever. But no matter how much I resisted, my parents got me one. They were busy, hard working business people and had to stay out of the house most of the time so I had no choice but to get a sitter even when I was fourteen.

I did throw one or two tantrums about that but that didn’t exactly work with my parents. But I guess, maybe out of luck or something, my babysitter turned out to be really nice. She didn’t talk much and was about my mother’s age and didn’t look creepy like the ones in the movies so she was fine. At least, that was what it seemed, at first.
