Don Veinot: Guarding the Flock in the Digital Age Jul 21, 2026
    Show notes

Mary welcomes back Don Veinot to discuss pastoring in the digital age: are pastors aware of the ways social media is shaping those in their care? One recent study reports that teens spend an astounding 10 hours every day on their cell phones, with tweens (ages 8-12) logging in at nearly 6 hours. Adults, on average, devote four hours and 25 minutes to scrolling. This means adults will spend over two months on their phones this year. When you consider that most Christians only spend a handful of hours each week worshiping, studying the bible, and in fellowship, we have to ask if we are being discipled more by our devices than anything else. In the 1970s even, what shaped youth was school, parents, community, perhaps church, and books and music; sometimes TV. But now capturing hearts and minds in these last days is a simple scroll away. Are we keeping up? How can the church counter any of its influence? Is it too late? A thoughtful conversation with a long-time apologist who loves the church. Jay Seegert: Starting Points and Foundational Truths Jul 17, 2026
    Show notes

Mary welcomes back Jay Seegert to talk about foundations, starting points, and worldviews. Communicating with the lost sometimes is reduced to arguing on social media, but that is reducing a pretty complex interaction to trying to out-talk and outlast people we don't really know, about complex topics that the person probably already has strong opinions about. In the current social landscape, there must be a better way to reason with people and get to the heart of the matter. It's not about facts that we can convincingly debate, it's spiritual, and people already have their own preconceived ideas and emotional investments concerning God, and life and death. Is that landscape conducive to contending for the faith? Jay helps the listener understand that there is a way to stick with biblical "starting points" to seek to convince people that 1) God exists and 2) the Bible is His Word, and all the ramifications of that. Anything else is a false starter and rocky foundation. Stand Up For The Truth Videos: https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline & https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A

Andy Woods: Pressure Cooker Planet Jul 16, 2026
    Show notes

Mary welcomes back Pastor Andy Woods to talk about all the ways the world is heating up and bringing pressure to bear on believers and Jews alike - and prophecy fulfillment marches on. Today we look at the scary upgrade to automatic license plate readers (ALPRs). While some communities will surely wrestle with a tech that can provide entry points to our vehicle worlds in multiple ways, regardless of the pushback they will likely prevail. What kind of intrusion is this? A massive one. We also look at Canada's C9 bill that tightens the noose around believers who wish to quote the Bible for all things pertaining to life and godliness. Is anyone home up north anymore with a conscience? We follow the story of the Jewish man in Ohio who simply wanted a prayer meeting in his home but was harassed at every turn. More stories: Erdogan's Ottoman ambitions; Iraq port and highway development plan; the Presbyterian's presbyopia about divestment and LGBTQ pastors; and the Scofield kerfuffle (this is a doozy). A very full hour with a fantastically knowledgeable guest. Stand Up For The Truth Videos: https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline & https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A

Headlines: Choose This Day Jul 15, 2026
    Show notes

On this edition of SUFTT - Headlines, Tim and Mary talk about all the ways and means put before us to make choices. Hopefully godly ones, and choices that can make for our peace - or steal it outright. And watching the news generally brings only one of those to fruition every hour of every day. People can of course choose to tune it all out, but then there is the danger of not knowing what or how to choose according to a proper worldview, and understanding more about what NOT to do. It's complicated in a way, but finding that balance between knowing and not knowing is often very difficult and can steal our joy and energy. Today we look at the idea of free will and why some say that humans are so depraved they can't choose anything having to do with eternity. We look at the religion of the day: tolerance. And the end game, which is the more the culture becomes tolerant, the more they marginalize Christians who appear to be INtolerant but in reality only point up the intolerance of the culture. We look at the increasing inroads of Islam and the ignition point of Europe today: France. A full hour of headline - choices. Ray Moore: The Promise of Jonadab Jul 14, 2026
    Show notes

Mary welcomes back homeschooling pioneer Ray Moore to talk about the importance of each "everyman" who desires to lead his family and leave a lasting legacy of uncompromising devotion to Christ. Retired Lt. Colonel and Chaplain in the US Army, Ray Moore has served for over forty years in pastoral ministry as a campus pastor, a congregational minister, an Army Chaplain or Director of a Christian ministry. Ray is co-founder of Frontline Ministries, Inc., and currently serves as the President of the Board. Exodus Mandate is a project of Frontline Ministries, which focuses on prayer, revival and Christian education. Ray is one of the Executive Producers of the 2011 award-winning film, IndoctriNation: Public Schools and the Decline of Christianity in America. Today we are going to talk about his book, The Promise of Jonadab by Ray and his wife Gail. Jonadab, found in 2 Kings 10 and Jeremiah 35 is a minor OT character but one who lives on as an example of passing the torch of faith to subsequent generations, leaving a godly legacy for all to observe and understand. Russ Miller: Star Light, Star Bright Jul 10, 2026
    Show notes

Mary welcomes back Creationist Russ Miller to explore the area of apologetics most attacked by secularists. Because, if there is no young earth, no flood, no instantaneous creation of the heavens, then death ruled before Adam and Eve fell; it also undermines the simple gospel. The fact that the church continues to increasingly accept the Old Earth (millions and millions of years) theory of creation tells us that some pretty basic Genesis facts are being ignored and/or rejected. Of course, Peter in 2 Peter tells us that they "willingly forget" various creation details and that pesky flood, which also stands for the judgment of a sinful world. We talk about the continents, star light and time, and rock strata. Russ is one of those very knowledgeable creationists who truly can defend the faith in a sound, biblical manner. Chris Quintana: Extinction-Level Optimism Jul 09, 2026
    Show notes

Mary welcomes back Chris Quintana to talk about the end of the world as we know it - and how does that make us feel? Well, anxious, exhausted, irritable, pushed to our limit. Where have all the optimists gone? Do they even exist philosophically these days? But wait, there's more! If we do feel fine, it can only mean one thing: that we are walking with Jesus and realize He is in control. Outside of that, it's quite possible we are living our most anxious life now and it manifests itself in many ways. Now that the church is not teaching prophecy, or the Bible even, really, what other triggers await? Evil men and seducers, and ravenous wolves make even going to church discouraging. This ought not to be because gathering together as we see the day approaching is not a suggestion from Paul. Taking communion in memory of Him until He returns is a crucial practice as well. We talk about anxiety, what it is, and how to squash it on today's edition of SUFTT. Headlines: Dog Days News Roundup Jul 08, 2026
    Show notes

With the "dog days" of Summer upon us, and the Europeans still clueless as to what true Summer heat is like in the south, we bring post-Independence Day headlines. In this uniquely lazy time of year, finding connected headlines is very difficult so we have a real smorgasbord of information. Yet we can always find a way to point to God's faithfulness and His soon return. Today we have a few thoughts on the 4th in hindsight, namely a thoughtful piece from Ken Ham about how we can sing "God Bless America" but refuse to follow Him and His commands. Then we look at some of the perils of the upcoming primary and election season, as the uber-radical left attempts to swing our nation so far left it might end up at the fascist right. We also look at the perils of allegory in Bible interpretation, and a new experimental vaccine that might just be the vaxx-to-end-all-vaxxes, which tells us one thing in particular: it was never about a virus, always about a vaxx. A full hour of slightly disjointed but interesting headlines for the Summer of '26.

Mary Danielsen: When We Wrestle Jul 07, 2026
    Show notes

On today's edition of SUFTT, Mary takes a look at Psalm 73 as a much-needed answer to the wrestling we all do in the face of a world gone awry. Levite, prophet and worship leader Asaph, author of a dozen Psalms, takes us on a tour through his heart and mind over the seeming success of the rich and famous of his time. We wonder at times what he all struggled with, since we have all the knowledge of good and evil at our fingertips through global media. Nevertheless, he certainly had his share of wrestlings when it came to being distracted by those who had it all, and gave no thought to their own eternity. Why do people who know they will die at some point seem to not even care how it all ends? Asaph knew that God is good, and He has a covenant with Israel - but he still had lots of deep questions for His Maker. But has God ever taken away those who vex us with instant relief? No, the rich and carefree have been with us always, it is US who change after being with our God, in His house. A great lesson for us all who struggle with cultural issues and how to respond in our hearts with a life of contentment. Jim Fletcher: Gradually, Then Suddenly Jul 02, 2026
    Show notes

Mary welcomes back Israel expert Jim Fletcher to talk about the winds of change that have blown through the world by looking at a couple of statistics: the 50th commemoration of Entebbe, and the 1000th day of the current war that Israel has bravely fought on multiple fronts. God is surely good to Israel, we see that in hindsight and it flavors our Bible reading time. And He will continue to be, which also flavors our Bible reading time. But not everyone in the church, let alone the world, believes this. We also look at what is happening in New York and beyond, as the democrat party as we know it allows themselves to be bullied by hard-core Communists, or Islamunists, as one pundit put it. Things have been eroding since Mamdani (shockingly) got elected, and now their ideology, plus a generous side order of antisemitism, is being pushed west and legitimized through the ballot box. It's amazing how quickly things can go from threatening to destabilizing, but here we are in the Summer of '26.
