355: Super Embers of Muaat Guide Jun 12, 2024

Show notes

It's a Muaat Guide! Embers of Muaat is one of those factions that some people in the community insist is "actually really good." I haven't been convinced, but they do have tools that can FEEL good if everything else went right. What does it take to get this faction from their bad start and to a game that feels good?

354: Arcs Leaders - Upstart, Rebel, and Overseer Jun 05, 2024

Show notes

More Arcs! And this time, we've got Hunter around. He's been thinking about the Overseer for months now and is ready to get it all off of his chest. Meanwhile, EJ and Matt are back, this time with the Upstart and Rebel. It's a mix of Leaders that all seem to want to strike very early in different ways which honestly made it incredibly difficult to play them against each other so many times! Some games of Arcs are all about chapter 5 and it turns our some games the whole game gets played in the first two chapters and the rest of the time you're just living with your mistakes...

352: Super The Winnu Guide May 22, 2024

Show notes

Sit your butts down and get ready to be schooled in the classroom by your god-tier Winnu player: THE MATT MARTENS. Jk Winnu is bad and we'll cover in depth the why and the how. There is a lot of useful information here for those of you that feel the determination to pilot them regardless of their ineptitude. It's one of our shorter super guides but it also makes a strong case so I hope you enjoy it!

351: Finals from a Champion's Perspective May 15, 2024

Show notes

We've got one more episode about the big Championship match we had back on May 4th. When the Finals finish, everyone involved is always so exhausted that it's impossible to squeeze in any post-game report or interview. So instead, we decided to wait a week and take a full hour to hang out with this year's winner! See, good things come to those who wait.

348: Arcs Leaders - Agitator, Quartermaster, and Noble (w/ Tom Brewster) Apr 24, 2024

Show notes

It is finally time to dig in deeper to Arcs! The base game adds asymmetry to each player via the Leaders, and it's more asymmetry than many of us realized. Our excitement just wasn't enough; we had to go and recruit Shut Up and Sit Down's Tom Brewster to join us in presenting three Leaders and offering up what strategic insights we could muster. We started with three Leaders available in the Leaders and Lore expansion, the Agitator, the Quartermaster, and the Noble. Why did we start with expansion leaders over the ones available in the base game? Hey, quit asking so many questions! We got a fun special guest and you're embarrassing us in front of him!

347: Super L1Z1X Mindnet Guide Apr 17, 2024

Show notes

This week we're back to our classic formula and doing a deep dive on one of our favorite aggressive factions: THE L1Z1X. This one has a fun energy and we really go to town on these guys, I wish we had more positives to say but I think spiritually L1 is too cool to be the best so let's just enjoy them for what they do best. Watch the Semi-Finals this weekend! Game 4 and 5 will be on Saturday and Sunday starting at 10AM central US time.
