375: Arcs - The Blighted Reach: Learn to Learn Oct 29, 2024

Show notes

This is a very excited start to what is going to be a very long ARC of Matt and Hunter talking about space games. Today we begin our discussion of the Arcs expansion "The Blighted Reach" aka "Campaign Mode" aka "Arcs: Imperium." What follows is a list of pointers and anecdotes for beginning to think about learning this excellent version of Arcs. While none of it will succinctly teach you how to play the game, it is helpful to hear about the experience of learning this huge game so as to learn it faster, better, and stronger than these two fools ever could have.

374: Super Barony of Letnev Guide Oct 22, 2024

Show notes

Here we are with our penultimate Faction guide and this one is a bit rough, Barony seems to struggle a lot in the data and the boys don't quite get to the bottom of it. There is one thing we are sure of, they're good at fighting, but is it enough? If all else fails I do hope that we inspire someone to figure out exactly how to reliably succeed with our Irish space warlords!

373: Arcs - Leaders and Lore Finale Oct 15, 2024

Show notes

This week we reach the end of our Base Game Arcs coverage. The boys sit down to reflect on their feelings before we move forward into the wild world of Campaign Arcs. This one is heavy with feelings and theory and gets only a little bit meta at times. We hope you have enjoyed our coverage of base game Arcs! Looking forward to returning to it sometime in the coming years.

Show notes

It's finally here! We're ready to announce our SEVENTH annual Twilight Imperium Patreon Tournament. We'll go in depth on the details, but head to the discord to ask us more questions and we'll follow up in next week's episode. We're also excited to announce our intent to do an even dumber idea than a TI tournament, a tournament for Blight Reach Campaign Arcs! How do we have time for all of these events? Honestly, I wish I knew...

366: Arcs Leaders - Shaper, Fuel Drinker, and Corsair Aug 28, 2024

Show notes

This week we're back with friend of the show, Tom Brewster of Shut Up and Sit Down! Listen as we turn the corner on three more of the arcs leaders and dig even further into what makes Arcs a unique strategy game. These three leaders really showcase the different styles of Arcs leaders with interesting abilities, obvious applications, and one of them is just kind of bogus. You'll love it! Also stay tuned next week for the imminent announcement of PATREON TOURNAMENT 7. You will not want to miss that.
