    Show notes

Havard Mela joins Something For Everybody this week. Havard is an author, peak performance coach, and electrical engineer. He is just a guy who loves to write and share insights from his path to living a better life. Havard is born and raised in Norway, but currently lives in Madrid, Spain.

In this conversation, I discuss with Havard about thriving in today's world and cultivating digital discipline. Havard shares insights from his books on overcoming porn addiction and developing purpose and discipline. We discuss the importance of conscious online behavior, the role of discipline in achieving goals, and the negative effects of passive digital use. Havard also reflects on his journey of personal growth and becoming an author. We discuss strategies for reducing notifications and creating friction between oneself and digital distractions. The importance of being intentional and building self-control is emphasized, as well as the idea that discipline translates into multiple domains. The impact of digital use on dopamine and motivation is explored, and the difference between digital minimalism and digital discipline is discussed.
