#370 - The Dance Of Death - Butte, Montana Mar 11, 2023

Show notes

This week, in Butte, Montana, a long standing beef between residents of a small apartment building seems to cool off, when all the neighbors have an unhinged afternoon. drinking party of epic proportions. The problem is that eventually these issues come to the surface, resulting in a most brutal murder, and a chaotic scene, complete with brawling, knife swinging, death threats, a ton of whiskey, and some very odd dance moves! Will the "whiskey defense" work in court, or will it just be seen as the cold blooded murder that it was?

Along the way, we find out that weird stuff must happen, down in the mines, that miners have quite the tolerance for whiskey, and that once you've killed one person, you might as well kill everyone!!

#369 - Blood On The Corn - Logan, Ohio Mar 09, 2023

This week, in Logan, Ohio, we take our 2nd trip to this town, because we found another insane murder! Two local young people, looking forward to marriage, walk off, and end up missing. When they're found, it horrifies even the most hardened detectives. Body parts, scattered around a cornfield, with horrible mutilations to both victims. A perverted stepfather is put on death row, and looks very guilty, but is it possible that someone even worse was out there that night? Twisted, right up to the end!!

Along the way, we find out that Sasquatch may prefer the midwest, that even if someone is the worst kind of pervert imaginable, you still need evidence in court, and that just when you think you've found the worst person around, there may be someone much worse, lurking in the corn stalks!!

This week, in Monterey, Tennessee, a man who may have the worst job in the United States, also has a family beef, over a fence that his brother has erected, across the man's driveway. This ends up in one of the craziest days imaginable, complete with some of the most cold blooded murder that we've ever heard of, a blazing fire to cover it up, and finally, a proclamation that he "will never be taken alive"! A real mess! Plus, we really need to know what "scrap food" could be!

Along the way, we find out that there are some exits that you just shouldn't take, that fences don't always make good good neighbors, and that you need to be careful while in the "back field"!!

#367 - Band Names & Blood Stains - Hockessin, Delaware Mar 02, 2023

This week, in Hockessin, Delaware, a bright, successful couple has only one major fault... their loser son, who can't seem to make his way in the world, despite all the support, and money that he gets from his parents. Instead, he joins bad bands, with crazy names, drops out of several colleges, and gets kicked out of the Marines, in less than 2 weeks. This all ends in a horribly brutal, cruel, and cold blooded attack on the people who made his easy life possible. But he's not done, yet. He hits the road, resulting in more horrifying murder!!

Along the way, we find out that nobody knows that Delaware is a place, that your band's name may say something about its musical quality, and that even if a witchcraft spell is placed upon you, you can't go around the country, killing people!!

#366 - Insane In The Brain - Moscow, Idaho Feb 25, 2023

This week, in Moscow, Idaho, a man seems to become more, and more mentally ill, as he begins to lash out at his family, friends, and even neighborhood children. He's mainly angry because he claims that they're "stealing his aura", which he claims will drain his power, and eventually kill him. Somehow, this all triggers a 6,500 mile journey, while maiming, and murdering along the way. Is he "The Sun King"? Is he possessed by a "supernatural wolf" that is controlled by the color yellow? Can he survive with his aura being drained? This one is all sorts of crazy!!

Along the way, we find out that a motorcycle is a terrible weapon to use to attack neighborhood teens, that stealing an aura can have dire consequences, and that your solar plexus apparently have a lot to do with auras, and powers!!

This week, in Van Buren, Arkansas, an exacting, and difficult mother continues to oversee her children's lives, well into adulthood, causing many problems. One night someone decides to bash this woman's head in, leaving her nearly unrecognizable, and the crime scene streaked with blood. Attention immediately focuses on her son, but there just isn't enough evidence to make a move, while local people wonder if they could be next. In the end, a shocking truth comes to light, leaving no doubt as to what happened, and what strange weapon was used to accomplish it!! A truly strange mystery!

Along the way, we find out that Arkansas loves a pageant, that you can't control your adult children, and that when you get a divorce... leverage is the key!

#364 - Bird Of A Violent Feather - High Point, North Carolina Feb 18, 2023

This week, in High Point, North Carolina, trouble springs up in a marriage, but it doesn't seem like anything that can't be overcome. That is, until one of the couple decides to bring 50-60 exotic birds into the house, causing more problems. This all leads to a surprising plan of murder, put together with some close family members. The murder is as cold blooded as it gets, with the murder coming after the victim begging for mercy. But a written letter, that wasn't supposed to opened is sent to the police, cracking the whole plot wide open!!

Along the way, we find out that people have strong opinions of their small towns, that if you're going to kill someone, make it worth it, and birds can't be racists, on their own!!

#363 - The Psycho Samurai - Caribou, Maine Feb 16, 2023

This week, in Caribou, Maine, what starts out as a seemingly minor crime, spins out of control, until an elaborate, and deadly murder plot is hatched. This plan has many moving parts, and people involved, but results in a horrific scene complete with a savage beating, and a not too often used murder weapon... a samurai sword, with a 36 inch blade. The result is finger pointing, and several stories about who the "real killer" actually was, but anyone with eyes could see what unfolded!!

Along the way, we find out that Maine takes their snowmen seriously, small things can turn into deadly things, and he who has the sword, probably did the murdering!!

#362 - Michael Myers Is My Idol - Greenfield, Massachusetts Feb 11, 2023

This week, in Greenfield, Massachusetts, the town goes absolutely crazy when a teen is brutally killed, in her home. The mystery is solved pretty quickly, when police focus in on another teenager, with a bit of an obsession with horror movies, and an avowed desire to model himself after Michael Myers, from the Halloween films, and Jason, the hockey mask wearing killer, from the Friday The 13th movies. But when police can't find him, people keep their kids inside, and movies are even cancelled, as the town literally hunts him! This story is complete with a wild ending!!

Along the way, we find out that just because you like horror movies, it doesn't mean you're a murderer, that if Jason Vorhees is your idol, you might be a murderer, and if you actual imitate the killing in these movies, then you're definitely a murderer!!
