#350 - The CSI Effect - Collinsville, Virginia Dec 31, 2022

Show notes

This week, in Collinsville, Virginia, when a brother & sister pair decide to share a house, the whole family senses trouble, especially since one of them digs holes, in the middle of the night, while always keeping a large outdoor fire going. When one of them disappears, it becomes a huge mystery, with dogs sniffing all over the county. But when the murderer finally admits to doing it, they then make one of the craziest attempt at suicide, in history. This is followed by a process of finding the many pieces of the body, in some odd places, because the killer was obsessed with CSI! This one starts crazy, and just gets crazier!!

Along the way, we find out that dragons aren't real, that antifreeze probably tastes disgusting, and that no matter how much CSI you watch, it's hard to commit the perfect murder!!

#349 - Blood Icicles - Oakley, Utah Dec 29, 2022

This week, in Oakley, Utah, a large family takes the perfect holiday vacation of a lifetime, in a beautiful cabin, in the snowy mountains. This all falls apart when two terrible people turn the whole place into a smoldering bloodbath. The carnage, and cruelty is incredibly nasty, with one monstrous act after another, but the story of survival of the one of the family members is absolutely amazing, and barely even believable. Have you ever heard of a bloody man, snowmobiling with no shoes, in negative 20 degree weather? You will after you hear this!

Along the way, we find out that skiing is an expensive lifestyle, that some people could possibly be made of actual garbage, and that blood can make an icicle!!

#348 - The Undercover Idiot - Cortez, Colorado Dec 24, 2022

Show notes

This week, in Cortez, Colorado, a strange man, who built himself an odd, octagonal house, on top of a hill, and may be into the local drug dealing scene. When his teenage friend gets in trouble for a relatively minor offense, this kid decides that the only way to get out of it was to go undercover, and help the police. This leads to wild, bloody scene, that leaves three people dead, and this young man, thinking he was acting as an undercover cop. But there are many unanswered questions, like how one of the people died, and who killed them. It's a mess!!

Along the way, we find out that there is also desert in Colorado, that unless you get a badge, you definitely aren't a cop, and that it may be a bad idea to just assume you have the power to kill at will!!

#347 - The Word Of Death - Chadwicks, New York Dec 22, 2022

This week, in Chadwicks, New York, when a new church comes to a quiet residential street, the neighbors are happy, until that church starts becoming the talk of all the local gossip. Their Pastor claims that God speaks directly through him, and that he can see & hear through walls, and predict witchcraft. This develops very badly, as the church takes total control of its parishioners lives, and even their thoughts. Total submission is the only way to heaven, according to this Pastor. This all ends in a crazy, screaming confrontation, and beating of someone who just won't confess their "evil deeds"!

Along the way, we find out that a quiet church isn't always the best neighbor, that if someone claims to speak to God, maybe you shouldn't believe them, and you might want to get proof of wrongdoing, before you kill someone!!

This week, in Atchison, Kansas, Relationships intertwine like ropes, among three local people. Not only are their relationships like ropes, but ropes play a big part in these relationships. It seems that everyone in this town is into bondage, and can't wait to tell friends/family/co-workers about it. The problem comes when one of these folks is found, covered in leaves, and mud, with an intricate system of ropes, from feet, to wrists, to neck. Was it a callous act of violence, or a very horny accident??

Along the way, we find out that you can be President of the United States for just a day, that bondage makes a great conversation starter, and that once you try to hide a dead body, it's hard to say the whole thing was an accident!

This week, in Chester, South Carolina, a lost young boy is found, in the woods, armed with a powerful rifle, and in need of help. He tells police of a terrifying ordeal that includes being kidnapped, after a man killed his grandparents, and burned their house down. After questioning, everyone feels awful for the boy, but they still need to get the details, and he's less than forthcoming. The story that ends up coming out is the most shocking thing anyone has heard of, in decades. Will Zoloft be the culprit, or the person who did the actual killing?

Along the way, we find out that the south loves a pageant, that people don't usually kidnap people & their dogs, and that some words have very shifting definitions!!

This week, in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, an unlikely couple enjoys the good life, full of fun at the lake, and good friends. Until one of them decides they'd rather be with someone else, then it turns into a bloodbath. A bloodbath, that the murderer calls an"accident". But accidental deaths usually don't end up with parts of the bodies in a wood stove, and the other parts in a cornfield. A truly terrible killing, with an equally baffling excuse, and outcome! A creepy, weird, and head shaker of a story!!

Along the way, we find out that you may still need air conditioning in Wisconsin, that decapitation is a strange response way to handle an accident, and that you shouldn't hesitate to eat the fries that you find under your car seat!!

This week, in St. Robert, Missouri, when a young woman shows up on a stranger's doorstep, after having stumbled over six miles of rugged terrain, through a driving snow, with two large caliber gun shot wounds, it opens up a wilder story than anyone could have anticipated. Three dead people, buried in the snow, and possibly two more, from months earlier. The tale the wounded young lady has to tell is a harrowing tale of unthinkable cruelty, and survival. In the end, it comes dow to one man. One man, who says he has strange headaches, and actually has two personalities. But did "Bad John" force "Good Johnny" to commit these horrible acts??

Along the way, we find out that some person's small town is a different person's big city, that it's hard to really trust anyone, and that you better be a pretty good actor, if you're going to pretend to have multiple personalities!!

#342 - Horror In The Hills - Hensley, West Virginia Dec 03, 2022

This week, in Hensley, West Virginia, it's a strange day up in the hills, as a man gets so angry, that he needs to fire off his shotgun, in the trailer's front yard, before noon. This day gets even crazier with weird daytime hill party, getting punched by his daughter, and a whole lot of drinking. By the end of the day, someone has been killed in a quite imaginative way, leaving not much left behind. The cops think they have their man, but did they get the confession because of the suspect's guilt, or is it because they beat him unmercifully for 7 hours? This is one truly twisted little tale!

Along the way, we find out that this county seems like a disaster, that a train is a crazy murder weapon, and that if you beat someone long enough, they're likely to admit to anything... even if they did do it!!

#341 - Never Gonna Pig You Up - Denville, New Jersey Dec 01, 2022

This week, in Denville, New Jersey, the two friendliest people in town just happen to be married to each other, but when that marriage starts to crumble, things start to get nasty & personal. But when the wife is found, stabbed an almost uncountable number of times, and has a rubber pig mask, placed over her face, the the whole investigation gets weird. Was it the husband, looking for revenge, or some other random very sick person, with a bloodlust, and a penchant for humiliation!! A very strange story!!

Along the way, we find out that New Jersey apparently isn't as cold as all the places right around it, that grown men shouldn't drive convertible Mazda Miatas, and that there are more subtle ways to call someone a pig!!
