Slam the Gavel welcomes Colleen Murray, Ph.D. LPC, Owner of Victor's Crown Christian Counseling Center and Adjunct Professor at Drury University.
Colleen is married and a mom to three kids. She is very passionate about helping people who are hurting. She believes that it is an awesome privilege when a client comes to her for help and allows her to walk alongside them during such a vulnerable time in their life.
During their intake, she relays to her clients how much she appreciates them choosing to counsel and that counseling is not easy. There is no magic pill or magic wand that will take the pain away. She explains to them that the work will be challenging and uncomfortable at times and they may want to give up, but if they persevere, she promises to be right there with them the whole time to help lessen their pain of their mental health issues and overcoming the challenges that brought them to counseling in the first place.
Colleen is a well rounded counselor and has a specialty in Trauma. Trauma left undressed can destroy not only that individual but their family as well. She offers groups, family and couples therapy. She will admit that children and teens have her heart because she believes they are our most precious asset as a nation.
We talked about Florida House Bill 241 being passed recently and how to make changes in your state. There will also be a symposium in October, presented by Family Access in Durham NC with well-known professionals such as Elaine Cobb, Dr. Sue Cornbluth and Anne Gottlieb to name a few. This symposium is to help people dealing with grief of losing their children and coping with emptiness.

Rosalind Sedacca, CDC is the founder of the Child-Centered Divorce Network, and a Divorce & Co-Parenting Coach. As a founder of the Child-Centered Divorce Network, she does not focus her attention on providing legal advice. Rosalind agrees the system is toxic but specializes in helping parents make the best decisions on behalf of their children--before, during and years after a divorce.
Rosalind believes the earlier she can reach both parents the better chance she has at getting them to grasp the damage done by making serious divorce mistakes. She has a unique and effective way to break the divorce news with the kids. Also, Rosalind has success strategies for co-parenting long-term and use probing questions to get parents inn alignment regarding co-parenting issues.
We discussed how she became a Divorce Coach and what are some of the most dangerous co-parenting mistakes parents make and the consequences it has for our children . We also touched on some secrets to successful co-parenting that positively impacts our children.

Michael Volpe, Investigative Journalist Discussing The Corruption Going On In The Counties Of North Carolina and Miami Dade Jul 06, 2021

Slam the Gavel welcomes Investigative Journalist, Michael Volpe back for another great show. Great discussion on the corruption in the counties of North Carolina and Miami Dade Florida.
In the pits of corruption, DSS/ CPS essentially snatches children from their protective parents with no warrant and no court order. Cherokee County is only one example of where a major investigation is taking place ensuing with indictments, lawsuits and takeover by the state.
Michael Volpe explained that the police, DSS and the courts do an awful job of investigating allegations of child abuse. CPS purposely coerces the protective parent to be placed in a vice through no fault of their own while having them sign off their rights using confusing documents. Caseworkers stealing children and having the parents sign their rights away is the typical modus operandi of CPS and Guardian Ad Litems. It's sickening what they are doing to people. Counties in NC and Miami Dade Florida as well as many others are guilty of these wrongdoings to families.

Also, at about fifteen minutes, the judge, Gordon Miller, chimes in stating, "it's rarely appropriate to put a boy in a dog cage....but we don't know the context." There is no ACCOUNTABILITY nor oversight in these cases and children and parents are paying dearly for it. The way to make progress in over-hauling the system is to continuously contact your legislature and continue to lobby for bills that will be passed. Expose these criminals for what they are.

Barbara Drtina is the founder and CEO of Wellness Matters, You Matter, LLC, a company dedicated to creating a lifestyle focused on physical health as well as emotional health. After losing a daughter to suicide at the age of 15 she realized how important it is to address emotional health and wellbeing especially with our youth. She teaches mindfulness and meditation practices and works with single moms going through divorce to help mitigate the trauma on themselves and their children.
She focuses on Physical Health through Nutrigenomics as well as Emotional Health, Resiliency and Trauma Guided Recovery. She is dedicated to bringing awareness to the going epidemic of Parental Alienation ( Parental alienation describes a process through which a child becomes estranged from a parent as the result of the psychological manipulation of another parent). She is a speaker on this topic as well as, surviving the loss of a child, those left behind after suicide, parental alienation as well as the emerging field of Nutrigenomics.

Kimberly Lowe, Single Mom Running For Congress In The State Of Virginia Discusses Her Policies To Help Parents And Children Jul 01, 2021

Slam the Gavel was very happy to have Ms. Kimberly Lowe on as a guest to discuss all that entails running for Congress in the state of Virginia. Kimberly Lowe is a farmer, policy advisor, advocate and single mother. She has been an advocate for our families and helped navigate families through family court and CPS issues for years. She is writing replicable State Legislation to reform family court and CPS to be introduced in Virginia in 2022. She is also working with other State Legislators to push policies through that will make our families STRONGER. At present, Kimberly is spending much of the next year traveling throughout the United States bringing awareness to necessary Family Court reforms that are needed and she is running on several issues including Family Court, Child Welfare and CPS reforms while protecting our American farms. Kimberly is the proud mother of three children now 11, 13 and 15, however she is on YEAR five in Family Court herself. Kimberly is determined to fight for families that cannot fight for themselves. Some of her policies, to name a few are: Miranda Rights for Parents, Child Services reform and accountability for False Accusations. These accusations must stop as 4.4 million are not accurate. She wants to see Courtroom Transparency, the end of Gag Orders and Guardian Ad Litems. There must be more Courtwatchers. Another concern is Domestic Violence in America where judges freely handover the children to the abuser as a parent fights to get them back. Statistics are that 900 children are murdered every year. Families need Rights, Kimberly states and there should be a Bill of Rights for parents when up against CPS who acts as the prosecutor. However, there is endless child trafficking in the United States, in fact 3,000 a year through Family Court alone. There must be accountability for judges. Parents can make their indiscretions public knowledge and report them to www.judicialpedia.com as these judges are not following the law. Americans can get involved by holding Rallies to bring awareness to let Legislature know what is happening to Families and how they are being ripped apart. We are well aware that Family Court is trafficking children. 88% of kids recovered from U.S. Marshalls have come out of Foster Care. We must fight hard for Kimberly and her grassroots movement to protect families. Dr. Zena Crenshaw-Logal and Belinda Parker-Brown talked about the grassroots campaign spearheaded by both National Judicial Conduct and Disability Law Project (NJCDLP) and Louisiana United International, Inc. (LUI) that addresses America's inadequate judicial oversight as a constitutional and human rights CRISIS with unrivaled success.

The court system has failed us. There must be prompt, accessible and available resolutions before an independent body. Federal Emergency Management Agency is compared to the Judicial system/legal system being a complete disaster due to UNETHICAL judges and lawyers. Opt IN USA is trying to do is that grassroots campaign that addresses organized U.S. legal system abuse as a HUMAN RIGHTS CRISIS attributable to inadequate judicial oversight in America. Janis James From The United Kingdom Discusses Child Protection And How Parental Alienation Affects Both Parents And Children--SHE SAYS IT ALL Jun 18, 2021

Janis spoke about her Non-Profit Organization, Good Egg Safety that she had started 20 years ago, and working unfunded at present time. Parental Alienation is a global issue that causes severe destruction and that this destruction done to the child is not normal. She discusses how a child that is physically abused still wants to be with that parent (without the physical abuse), but when a child who is psychologically abused by an Alienating Parent, within weeks can be turned to hate the other (Victim) Parent.
This has detrimental effects on the child that will haunt them for the rest of their life. This is a tragedy as the child wants both parents, in absence of abuse. Up until divorce the child is forced to relinquish the other parent and this has disastrous effects such as extra guilt, suicidal ideation and feelings of worthlessness, alcohol and drug abuse, promiscuity. They are seeking love that was stolen from them and in turn makes poor life choices. There must be a societal outrage and public awareness that this will affect multiple generations.
Janis also focused on the red flags that young people should be taught at an early age. Trying to help solve the issue before a person marries someone who has been caused to have a psychological illness brought on by Parental Alienation.
