    She’s Talkin’ Money

You make good money. You save. You contribute to retirement. On paper, you are doing well. So why do you still feel unsure whether you are making the right decisions with your money?

She’s Talkin’ Money is the personal finance podcast for women who have outgrown basic budgeting advice and want more clarity about what comes next.

Hosted by financial planner and money expert Shari Rash, the show helps you understand how to put your money to work through smarter investing, retirement planning, saving, tax strategy, and intentional spending.

You will also hear honest conversations about the emotional side of money: fear, guilt, comparison, financial independence, over-saving, and why earning more does not always make you feel more secure.

Expect practical solo episodes, expert conversations, and real money questions designed to help you stop second-guessing yourself and start making financial decisions with more confidence.

Because doing well on paper should feel good in real life, too.

Previously known as Everyone’s Talkin’ Money.

"What Are the Biggest Money Myths" - Ask Shannah Feb 02, 2024
    Show notes

In this episode of Ask Shannah, I’m answering a question from Laquita. “Shannah, your podcast has saved my life. I can’t tell you what a mess I was before. I felt all over the place and wasn’t motivated, even though I wanted to change things. I was recently talking to my girlfriends about money and how some people, you know who I’m talking about, I’m sure, say we have to follow rules. It just doesn’t feel right to me. I thought it might be interesting to have an episode about some money myths that we’re told are true but aren’t. Thanks again. I recommend your show to everyone…I’m even a bit aggressive about it."

Financial Planning Questions to Ask Yourself with Ethan Ho Jan 31, 2024
    Show notes

What does it mean to have a financial plan? Is it something that we all need? Ethan Ho, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ from Oahu, Hawaii, is here to share the ins and outs of having a financial plan. One of my favorite takeaways from Ethan is where he describes your finances to a plant. As you can see, Ethan and I share a very common belief about money. You need to give it some TLC occasionally and create a plan that works for you and the life you want to live. So how do you do that? Well, Ethan’s sharing the details behind a financial plan, how you can create one, and what to do when life throws you some curveballs and the planning doesn’t go as planned. We also talk about my love of Hawaii, and Ethan shares his favorite guilty pleasure meal if you find yourself in Ohau.

How to Buy an Engagement Ring: Best Kept Secrets or Ring Buying with Kat McCoy Jan 29, 2024
    Show notes

Getting engaged can be a stressful time and a very expensive time. When do you propose? Who proposes to whom? How much money should you really spend on an engagement ring? What if you’ve never really talked about money before? These are just a few questions that our guest Kat McCoy, a hopeless romantic and the owner of Best Kept Jewelry Concierge and Proposal Prep, is here to help you with. I share this story in the episode, but when I got engaged to my husband, Jeff, we mutually bought the engagement ring; I picked it up and then put it on the counter when I got home. Jeff said, “OK, what am I supposed to do with this thing.” I was like, I don’t know, I guess you are supposed to propose. We laugh about it now, but the dynamics of the engagement process, even though exciting, can be stressful and anxiety-filled. In this episode, Kat breaks down the narrative around who proposes to whom, whether your engagement ring is an investment and some important love and money questions to ask your future spouse…before you walk down the aisle.
