MY DISASTER DATE FOR SCIENCE Jan 16, 2020
    Show notes

Have you ever dated someone just in the name of science? I actually recommend it. For one thing, it removes a lot of the inherent fear and self-consciousness of the typical dating experience. It also helps your decision-making abilities because you're in strict observation mode. Plus, if you keep a good field journal, you might get a good story out of it in the end.

The following dating story you're about to hear is true.

No names have been changed because no one is innocent.

This episode follows one of the last disaster dates I went on back when I was single. Set in Chicago in the late 1980s and featuring a total stoner (not me), a legendary blues singer (also not me), and someone getting punched in the face (hopefully not me). Just sit back and press play cause this booze-fueled, emotional thrill ride, has just about everything.

    And me.

Also, stick around for a brand new, hilarious Screw Confession. You may never look at Canadian hockey players the same way again.

If YOU have a Screw Confession you'd like to share on the show, we'd love to hear from you!

JODI MILLER ON SEX ED THE GAME SHOW! Jan 09, 2020
    Show notes

Comedian Jodi Miller is ON TOP!

A self-proclaimed "Jewgar", Jodi Miller has been performing stand-up comedy all over the country for over 20 years, and has also done 4 military tours including going overseas to entertain the troops in Afghanistan.

She's currently seen as the host of the nationally-syndicated The World's Funniest Weather, the head writer and on-camera talent for the nationally-syndicated game show, Funny You Should Ask, the host of the podcast Don't Call Me Ma'am, and all of this well-earned success comes after briefly destroying her career while working for me at Playboy TV.

Since Jodi writes and stars on a very funny game show and I'm completely OBSESSED with game shows, I decided to turn this week's podcast into a game show all about sex!!!

To give you an idea of how obsessed I am with game shows, my very own wedding was a game show. Here's the story as heard on This American Life, hosted by Ira Glass.

But right now, it's time for you to test your knowledge about sex!

    • WHAT ARTICLE OF CLOTHING IS MOST HELPFUL FOR A WOMAN TO BE WEARING DURING SEX IN ORDER TO REACH ORGASM?
    • DURING WHAT TIME OF THE MONTH DO STRIPPERS MAKE THE MOST MONEY?
    • WHICH OF THESE PORN FILMS IS AN ACTUAL 2019 AVN NOMINEE: ASS ASTRA, HAND SOLO, or ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLY?

All of these questions and so much more will be answered on this week's very funny and semi-educational episode.

HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY! MY MOM THE SEX WORKER Dec 19, 2019
    Show notes

When I started working at Playboy TV, people immediately began to ask me how I was going to "explain my job" to my daughter. Strangely, I was never asked that question about any of the other places I worked. After all, I spent years working at NBC and never once was I asked to explain Supertrain. But after I became Head of Programming at Playboy TV, I was repeatedly asked how I was going to justify my job to a 4 year old.

Turns out, my kid didn't have a problem. On the other hand, there were one or two very judgmental moms at her fancy private school who, after finding out where I worked, tried to make things extremely difficult for me. And the most famous mom of all, was my biggest hater.

Which only proves, no matter where you go, there are always mean girls.

My guest, columnist and reporter Ray Richmond, had a much different experience. His mother went from giving hand jobs to movie stars in a seedy massage parlor across from FOX, to founding a huge sex product empire. That's right, a tiny, Jewish mother working in a "rub and tug" is the Godmother of the multi-billion dollar lube and sex toy industry.

And the best/most unbelievable part of this story is that her X-rated enterprise was entirely bankrolled by her boyfriend — a well-known Los Angeles restaurateur who also happened to be a married, devout Christian, anti-smut crusader.

    Wait, what???

And THAT'S not even the craziest part.

This is a true story about religious faith, true love, and lubrication.

You are not going to believe this.

And, as part of our special Holiday Giveaway month, the fine folks at Überlube have generously donated their amazing sex lubricant.

All you have to do to be eligible to receive a bottle of Überlube for free, is go to our iTunes page, subscribe, write a 5-star review and email the text of your review and the name you used to info@sexedthemusical.com.

A randomly selected new reviewer this month will receive a bottle of Überlube in the mail. Subscribe, review and email us today so you can be eligible to receive a bottle of Überlube!!!

HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY! SAY YES TO ORAL SEX WITH LORALS Dec 12, 2019
    Show notes

If you're a woman in a heterosexual relationship, there's a good chance you're getting a lot less oral sex than your male partner. This Oral Sex Gap stems from many reasons. For one, women are pretty much "expected" to give blow jobs to their male partners, while a lot of hetero men easily justify why they don't return the favor. Is it laziness? Is it patriarchal entitlement? Is it a part of a nefarious brainwashing effort that's convinced women that there's something too challenging, unattractive or disgusting about their bodies?

    Perhaps…

But, it's not just the men who are saying no to oral sex with their female partners. A lot of women refuse to accept oral sex. Many women feel too vulnerable or have hypersensitive clitorises which makes cunnilingus difficult to enjoy. Or they bought that load of bullshit that a lot of dudes have been serving up for years.

Whatever the reason, CEO and founder of Lorals, Melanie Cristol saw an opportunity to offer a sexy product that allows women to accept pleasure without feeling awkward or vulnerable. The product, Lorals, are very thin, flavored latex underwear that are like a wearable dental dam…only a lot less awkward.

In this episode, I talk to Melanie about the oral sex gap and how we can ensure that women are receiving as much pleasure as possible.

Later in the episode, I enlist the services of a married couple who try Lorals and give me their thorough and unbiased review. Even they were a little surprised by the product.

AND, as a special Holiday Giveaway, the folks at Lorals have donated a four-pack that will go to one lucky listener. All you have to do to be eligible to receive the free Lorals is go to our iTunes page, subscribe, write a 5-star review and email the text of your review and the name you used to info@sexedthemusical.com

One randomly selected new reviewer will receive a free four-pack of Lorals in the mail. Subscribe, review and email us today so you can be eligible to receive some Lorals!!!

If you'd like to purchase an awesome 4-pack of Lorals, go to mylorals.com today.

Remember, if you're going to let something get between you and oral sex, let it be Lorals.

MY HUSBAND CHEATED, SO I CHEATED Nov 21, 2019
    Show notes

Cheating in a marriage occurs for a number of reasons. But it turns out, one of the main reasons for infidelity is revenge. Revenge Cheaters have sex outside of their marriage to get back at their partners for having affairs. And many feel completely justified.

On this episode, I speak to a woman who's been on both sides of infidelity. Her husband cheated on her and she eventually cheated on him, for a very surprising reason.

There's a lot to this story and, hopefully, by listening you may discover ways for you to get on the other side of the pain caused by infidelity or an abusive relationship, so you can start healing, too.

    MEMORABLE QUOTES

"I thought I couldn't do any better and I just figured, okay, well I'm not going to get anybody else, so I'll just take what's given to me."

"I was trying really hard to be that good wife, and that good person and be a good mommy, and I never really, I don't think, fully dealt with it."

"I wanted to leave him. I didn't know how."

"I'm not proud of the fact that I did what I did but I'm not really apologetic about it either."

"I did want to end the marriage and I knew if I stayed with him it was going to kill me from the inside."

IS YOUR PARTNER CHEATING? Nov 14, 2019
    Show notes

Infidelity is complicated for so many reasons. Many people can't even agree on what cheating really is. If you got a lap dance at a club, is that cheating? If you flirted with a stranger at the grocery store, is that cheating? If you watched porn, is that cheating?

There are a lot of statistics about cheating available online and, unfortunately, a lot of the numbers are self-reported so their accuracy isn't exactly guaranteed. I found one piece in the New York Times that said, "…national surveys indicate that 15% of married women and 25% of married men have had extramarital affairs. The incidence is about 20% higher when emotional and sexual relationships without intercourse are included."

    That's a lot of cheating!

When it comes to infidelity, you can bury your head in the sand if you choose but, with those odds, there's a good chance you're going to encounter it in a relationship.

    Then what?

On this podcast I speak with Robert Weiss. The author of 10 books on sex, intimacy and relationships including Sex Addiction 101, Out of the Doghouse: A Step-By-Step Relationship Saving Guide For Men Caught Cheating and Prodependence, Dr. Rob and I cover many infidelity topics including:

    • WHY MEN TYPICALLY CHEAT
    • THE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT REASONS WHY WOMEN TYPICALLY CHEAT
    • WHAT ARE THE SIGNS THAT YOUR PARTNER IS CHEATING ON YOU
    • THE ONE THING YOU CAN DO AS A COUPLE TO DRASTICALLY LOWER THE RISK OF INFIDELITY IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP

Dr. Rob's Sex, Love, and Addiction Podcast is a Top 10 Addiction Podcast. He also hosts a no-cost weekly Sex and Intimacy Q&A on the Seeking Integrity sponsored website, SexandRelationshipHealing.com (@SexandHealing). The Sex and Relationship Healing website provides free information for addicts, partners of addicts, and therapists dealing with sex addiction, porn addiction, and substance abuse issues.

Dr. Rob can be contacted via Seeking Integrity.com and SexandRelationshipHealing.com. You can follow him on Twitter (@RobWeissMSW), LinkedIn (Robert Weiss LCSW), and Facebook (Rob Weiss MSW).

Dr. Rob mentions the work of Psychotherapist Esther Perel, the bestselling author of Mating In Captivity, a bold and provocative take on intimacy and sex. Mating in Captivity will transform the way you look at the rules of marriage and the way you live and love.

    UNDER COVERS -- "KIM" Nov 07, 2019
    Show notes

What would you say if you could go back and give sex advice to your 20 year old self?

Or even your 15 year old self?

That is one of many questions I ask on this episode of Under Covers.

For these conversations, I've interviewed women of all ages, from all religious backgrounds, and walks of life. Regardless of what we don't have in common, there's a lot more we all share.

On this episode I speak with Kim (not her real name).

All you need to know is that Kim is 41, married, and created a life of self-acceptance and sexual pleasure on her own terms, after escaping an abusive relationship.

And that's where all similarities end…or begin.

    UNDER COVERS -- "ELLE" Oct 31, 2019
    Show notes

    ELLE

    (That's not her real name).

Just like the previous Under Covers (episodes 23-26, 37), this is a completely candid interview with a woman I've never met, about the most intimate details of her sex life. In each of these conversations, I'm asking women the same questions and I'm not at all surprised to discover how much so many of us have in common. Whether it's the fear and shame associated with sex education, our first sexual encounters, the identical lies we're told by others, or the lies we tell ourselves — it's all there.

That said, this particular conversation takes quite a few highly unexpected turns.

All you need to know in advance is that Elle is 41, the mother of three, and one night experienced the biggest breach of trust imaginable in her marriage.

That's where all similarities end…or begin.
