427: Amazing Won't Do It Justice Dec 23, 2023

Show notes

The Seahawks win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football was one of their most important wins of the season. Not only did it keep them in the race for the playoffs, they showed some level of physical football that we hadn't seen in previous weeks. There was also a question of whether Coach Pete Carroll may not have the support of the locker room as the losses continued to pile up. Even if the Seahawks didn't pull out the win - that question had been answered through the first three quarters of the game.

Drew Lock answered some questions in this game by driving the length of the field in the final two minutes of the game. His post game press conference was an all-timer. However, it sounds like Geno Smith will be ready to come back against the Titans. He finally has a chance to enjoy a full game with Charles Cross and Abe Lucas at the tackle spots. But the Titans are significantly better than the Seahawks in two particular defensive stat lines. Will that be a difference maker when it comes down to which team comes away with the victory?

Will the focus of replacing Pete Carroll shift following the win over the Eagles? Do we need to start looking for a new head coach anyway based on some of the rumors about Dan Quinn? What does a successful head coach even look like? Our pick'em league overlord is pleased this week and we give a shoutout to 9L as requested. Eagles fans need to 'do better' even as one of our own feels as though he can do better. Better at life honors go out to a media member who has Pete's back and to one of the biggest names in national media for avoiding a biased approach at covering Monday Night Football.

Clinton, Brandan and Phil talk about some of the things they'd like to see from the team at this point that would lead us all to believe that the playoffs continue to be a possibility for Pete Carroll and the Seahawks.

Live & UnCatfished: It's a Love-Fest! Dec 19, 2023

Show notes

With Jamal Adams out due to 'injury,' Seahawks fans got to see Julian Love go up against a quarterback he got to play twice a year during his time with the Giants. Love's two interceptions helped keep the Eagles from putting up points in the fourth quarter and allowed Drew Lock the opportunity to pick up a stat. Ken Walker helped lead the way on a touchdown drive where Seattle just kept running and running, while Lock aired it out to DK and JSN to close out an emotional comeback.

426: The Coach's Attitude Has Shifted Dec 14, 2023

Show notes

Just one month ago the Seahawks were 6-3 and looking like a relative lock for the playoffs, and considering the Niners had also lost three games to that point it looked like the division title was also within range. One month later, the division title is out of reach, Seattle has a losing record and the playoffs are in question. A week ago, Pete was on the radio talking as if the playoffs were a certainty and this week he's blowing off questions about whether or not his message is getting through to players. What will it take for this team to take a turn?

How the Seahawks play against Philadelphia may well determine how the rest of the season plays out. Can they cut out the 'easy' mistakes from some of the previous weeks? The Eagles defensive line may be a formidable force, but a former Seahawks defensive coach is struggling with a similar problem that Coach Hurtt has been concerned with this year.

Let's say things work out over these next few weeks. Is there one thing to possibly look forward to that a playoff berth can provide? We believe there is. Part of the reason is because Kyle Shanahan needs to Do Better along with a Bay Area reporter who seemingly couldn't wait to pile on DK Metcalf rather than approach the end of the game with any kind of objectivity about the role of one Niners player at the end of the game. Better at life honors go out to a PNW company for bringing us into the future and to a Seahawks player who was honored for his work in the community.

However, there are some significant issues to overcome that showed up in the loss to the Niners. Can Pete Carroll shake up his guys on defense, or sit down the guys who aren't getting the job done?

Live & UnCatfished: Seahawks vs 49ers Postgame Reaction Dec 11, 2023

Show notes

Heading into the second game against the 49ers, there was a sense of impending doom, especially when the word went out that Geno may not play. Early on in the game Drew Lock rallied the Seahawks offense and even had Seattle up by 3 points on the Niners. Between the Seahawks defense getting exposed and continued struggles on the offense on third down, it made it difficult to come back once they fell behind. What were some of the biggest areas of concern coming out of this game, and is there still an opportunity to cheer for a possible playoff run? We react following the Seahawks 28-16 loss to the 49ers.

PNW Prop Stars: The JSN Progression Dec 09, 2023

Show notes

Feeling emboldened from last week's offensive showing, Wilson, Adam, and Clinton all lean into some more favorable Seahawks bets and props... but is it a trap? While Adam and Wilson continue to bet on our kicker, Clinton seeks overs and for the progression of JSN to keep on keeping on. And for the first time in PNW history, all three Fail Mary's come in at exactly +1200 ... that's gotta be a sign, right?
