Every week Twisted Two's dives into a pair of uniquely terrifying stories that are worthy of a more in-depth look. For this week, we focus on the curious case of Room 322 at Hotel Zaza and the life of Dannion Brinkley, a man who got struck by lightning and mysteriously gained psychic powers. Get ready for Scary Mysteries, Twisted Two’s.Room 322 Reddit is a hub for the weird and unusual, so it’s not surprising to see it play host to a bunch of conspiracy theories. One of the most unusual and oldest conspiracies is about a particular room at Hotel Zaza, in Houston, Texas. A Redditor named “joelikesmusic” began the thread several years ago by posting a mysterious hotel room with unusual taste in dĂ©cor. According to the user, room 322 was accidentally booked for his colleague who was then told it wasn’t meant to be booked for him at all. In fact, it shouldn’t have been listed in the first place. It’s not tough to see why because the room looks like it’s been decorated to look like a snuff-film location. Dannion BrinkleyIt was September 17, 1975 when 25-year old, Dannion Brinkley was talking to his best friend, Tom, back in his home at Aiken, South Carolina. A thunderstorm was brewing outside as Dannion was talking on the phone. From out of nowhere, lightning struck the phone line, sending 180,000 volts down the line, into Dannion Brinkley’s head and through his body. The lightning strike was so strong it threw the 25-year old across the room while leaving his shoes permanently welded to the floor. His next conscious thought was seeing his wife and his best friend, Tom, attempt to revive him. Clinically, Dannion was dead and he was experiencing a vivid near-death experience. He recalls that as a spirit, he was starting to travel down a tunnel and there were various forms coming from this misty blue light. He then felt as if everything he had done or seen before in his life surge inside of him. He became aware of all the people he encountered and what they felt.Support the show

Every week Twisted Two's dives into a pair of uniquely terrifying stories that are worthy of a more in-depth look. For this week, we focus on the mysterious wave of Pterosaur sightings in the UK and the weird UFO experience of singer Jim Sullivan. Get ready for Scary Mysteries, Twisted Two’s. Pterosaur Sightings in the U.K. In a world where we can’t imagine living without the Internet, it’s difficult to think there could still be large, prehistoric, creatures we don’t know exist on our planet. We might think reports of flying dinosaurs are possible in large swathes of undiscovered land in the outer fringes of Africa or South America but to see reports of flying dinosaurs reported in the United Kingdom is a whole other situation. But that’s exactly what happened. During the start of the 20th Century, sightings of “winged serpents” in the woods of Penllin Castle around Glamorgan, Wales was rampant. Locals described the creatures as flying in flocks over the skies. One elderly resident called them “very beautiful” and looked like they were “covered in jewels.” Some also described them as having colorful crests.Jim Sullivan With the release of his posthumous album, psych-folk musician Jim Sullivan is making headlines again, decades after he first released his 1969 album, U.F.O. - an album that featured an unusual song about walking into the desert, leaving his family behind and being abducted by U.F.O’s. Released by Minnie Records in 1969, few copies of Jim Sullivan’s albums were pressed and many devoted fans do what they can to obtain original copies. Although the record itself wasn’t a big hit at the time of release, it got massive attention when mysterious circumstances marked Sullivan’s later disappearance. Born in 1940, Jim Sullivan grew up in San Diego. He was raised there by his Irish-American parents. In high school, Sullivan was a quarterback but later decided to play music after listening to a local blues group. He eventually got married and moved to Los Angeles with his wife and son to pursue a better music career.Support the show

Every week Twisted Two's dives into a pair of uniquely terrifying stories that are worthy of a more in-depth look. For this week, we focus on the unusual deaths of the Marconi Scientists and the terrifying and haunted Mizpah Hotel. Get ready for Scary Mysteries, Twisted Two’s. Marconi Scientist Conspiracy It sounds like a bad movie script, 25 prominent scientists and technicians found dead, one by one, in unusual circumstances. And all of them worked with the same company – Marconi. The mystery began in the 80s and lasted up until the 1990s. After a series of mergers and takeovers, the latest iteration of the Marconi Company is known as the Marconi Electronic Systems. The company today exists as part of the BAE Systems Electronics Limited and focuses on developing futuristic weaponry along with spy-satellite technology. The first of the suspicious deaths started with Dr. Keith Bowden on March 1982. The professor was a senior computer scientist and a valuable member of Marconi. While driving one day, his car left a highway, dropped from a bridge and down into an embankment and abandoned rail yard. He died immediately. No alcohol was found in his system and an investigator discovered someone swapped the tires in his Rover with a set of old and worn out ones.Haunted Mizpah Hotel Located smack dab in the city of Nevada, Las Vegas, the Haunted Mizpah Hotel has become an iconic spot for ghost hunters and hotel lovers. Dubbed as the “Jewel in the Desert” The Mizpah Hotel in Tonopah has been a treasured landmark in the area since it was first created in 1907. The Mizpah was once considered as among the most elegant hotels in the western United States and was the tallest building in Nevada until 1929. It even had the very first electric elevator installed. Although it has been in operation for years since, in 1999, the hotel was closed for 12 years for renovation. In 2011, under the new owners, Fred and Nancy Cline, the hotel finally reopened with 47 rooms, two restaurants, and a bar.Support the show

Tales of crashed UFOS; ghost apparitions; marauding monsters; and everything in between – you name it, they’re all here. But perhaps the most unnerving of all these mysteries are the true stories of crimes and deaths that even up to now, the secrets can’t still be explained. Here are 5 eerie unsolved mysteries from the Lone Star State.5. The Murders at Orchard ApartmentIn 1979, people from around the state and the country flock towards Houston to take part of its oil boom. Most of these newcomers were young people who had been looking to build their fortune in the bustling Bayou City. However, it didn’t take long before their dreams turn to nightmare. In July of that same year, a co-worker of Alys Rankin went to pick her up from her Orchard Apartment home in southwest Houston. Bob Smith, Rankin’s co-worker, found the door to the apartment slightly open.4. The Servant Girl AnnihilatorThe Servant Girl Annihilator committed a string of murders in Austin, Texas between 1884 and 1885. Police tied eight known victims to the unknown perpetrator whose modus operandi was to enter women’s homes and knock them unconscious. The suspect would then drag the victims outside of their homes and then proceed to murder them outdoors using an ax.3. The Amber Hagerman CaseOne of the most disturbing murder cases to ever come from Texas pertains to the kidnapping and eventual murder of Amber Hagerman. It gained worldwide attention that it even prompted officials to create an alert system intended for missing persons aptly called Amber Alert. It all started on January 13, 1996 when the 9-year-old was seen biking along the neighbourhood streets. A neighbour saw someone in a pickup truck pull up and snatch Amber. The little girl screamed, which impelled Jim Kevil, the neighbour, to call the police.2. The Brutal Murder of Megan CurlThe murder of Megan Curl is thought to be one of the most gruesome crimes ever committed in the Lone Star State simply because of its sheer brutality. In the early morning of March 26, 2000, members of the Lufkin Fire Department arrived to put out a fire at Fox Run Apartments. Right after the firefighters extinguished the fire, they recovered the body of the 26-year-old woman. 1. The Austin Yogurt Shop Quadruple MurderDecember 6th of 1991, an Austin police officer on patrol saw fire coming from I Can’t Believe It’s Yogurt! – a local yogurt shop. Amy Ayers, Jennifer Harbison, her sister Sarah, and Eliza Thomas, were found naked, bound, and gagged with their own clothing.Support the show

Every week Twisted Two's dives into a pair of uniquely terrifying stories that are worthy of a more in-depth look. For this week, we focus on the arrest of the notorious Potomac River Rapist and the mysterious disappearance and death of virtuoso coder, Jerold Haas. Get ready for Scary Mysteries, Twisted Two’s.Potomac River ArrestChristine Mirzayan was a 29-year old student intern at the National Academy of Sciences at Georgetown, Washington D.C. On August 1, 1998, she attended a cookout and was walking home from the event when she was viciously attacked. Christine was pulled into a wooded area, viciously raped, then beaten to death using a 73-pound rock. Although a man had heard Christine scream and called back to ask if she was okay, he never heard back so he continued on. The following day, Christine’s body was found. Another person later came forward offering a description of the man they saw running from the woods after hearing the scream. This description was enough to create a composite sketch of the suspect. During the investigation, it was clear Christine wasn’t the first victim. Before her, 9 other women in the Maryland and D.C. area had also been viciously attacked and raped. This included an 18-year old babysitter as well as a mother whose infant child was with her during the assault. Many of the victims were attacked inside their homes and seven of the nine were all linked using DNA. Only Christine Mirzayan was murdered.Jerold HaasJerold Haas was described as being on the “brink of riches” as his company, Tessr, gained buzz for using blockchain technology to help streamline data sharing for higher education. But instead of riches, Jerold Haas’ skeletal remains were found on November 3, 2018, inside a forest just north of Clarksville, Ohio. The virtuoso coder was first reported missing on September 17, seven weeks before his body turned up. Haas lived in Columbus, Ohio but was last seen at a gas station, just one county over from where his remains were discovered.Police identified the body using the wallet found in his pants. They also later compared his dental records. There were no signs of foul play - no weapons or anything that might lead investigators to believe he was murdered. However, they did note Haas’ backpack was nowhere in sight. It was a black backpack containing many of the things he used for business, including two laptops, three smartphones, a tablet, and various USB sticks and cables.Support the show

Every week Twisted Two's dives into a pair of uniquely terrifying stories that are worthy of a more in-depth look. For this week, we focus on the brutal and deranged Japanese killer, Tsutomu Miyazaki, also known as the “Otaku Killer” and the case of the missing Ann Marie Burr, and her possible ties with one of America’s most notorious killers. Get ready for Scary Mysteries, Twisted Two’s.Tsutomu Miyazaki People know him now as the “Otaku Killer” because of his love for manga and video games. Tsutomu Miyazaki once lived in Itsukaichi, Tokyo where his father ran a successful local newspaper. Growing up, Tsutomu was bullied because he suffered a deformity in his hand - his wrist joint was missing so his hand was directly attached to his wrist. The incessant bullying caused him to be a loner. From a young age, his family said he always exhibited odd behavior. It didn’t help his parents never listened to his problems and his younger sisters rejected him as a brother. The only person he felt close to was his grandfather. But when his grandfather died in May 1988, it plunged him further into depression. According to him, after his grandfather died, he partially ate his ashes in an effort to “retain something from him.” Ann Marie Burr - Ted Bundy’s First VictimThe name Ted Bundy is a familiar one. Many know of his exploits, his crimes, and his “charming” personality. Bundy has been depicted in television shows, talked about in countless articles and documentaries, and his life has been subjected to the film treatment. But do we really know Ted Bundy and his crimes completely? It’s widely accepted among law enforcement officials and crime geeks that Bundy killed his first victim in January 1974, at 27 years old. The first known victim tied to Bundy is 21-year old, Lynda Ann Healy.Healy disappeared in the middle of the night inside her dorm room apartment, space she shared with three other women. For police, the disappearance of the 21-year old college student inside her bedroom was perplexing. There were clues foul play was involved but very little evidence pointing to any suspect. It would be years later, in 1989, when Bundy would confess to abducting then killing her.Support the show
