**Found in the Ruins episode 12: Smackdown — The Omega Man vs. I Am Legend** Oct 02, 2025
Show notes

Greetings Wastelanders! It’s the return of the FITR Zombie Smackdown! In this corner is 1971’s *The Omega Man* with “glistening” Charlton Heston in his Honkey Paradise. Machine guns, Halloween masks, and convenient lighting abound! In this corner is 2007’s *I Am Legend* with Will Smith. It has *Home Alone*-style traps, dodgy medical ethics, and CGI night(ish) monsters!

All this with guest host and Vampire movie expert extraordinaire Chris Holmes provide more than enough coverage to make a Fair and Balanced choice. Who will win? Who will lose? Will Hollywood ever *really* make a movie based on Matheson’s story? Some of these answers will be revealed in this episode of Found in the Ruins!

So, take a listen and keep in mind we are Spoiler-rich! Especially for 40-year old books and movies…
