    Peter Shapiro (Legendary Concert Promoter and Owner of Brooklyn Bowls and the Capitol Theatre) Aug 05, 2022

    Welcome to Roadcase!! We are incredibly honored to have the one and only Peter Shapiro on the show. Peter is a legendary concert promoter and venue owner and is the author of a new book, "The Music Never Stops: What Putting on 10,000 Shows Has Taught Me About Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Magic." Peter owns and runs the Brooklyn Bowls (NYC, Las Vegas, Philadelphia and Nashville) as well as the historic Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY, which he acquired and re-opened in 2012. He is also the founder of the Lockn' Music Festival in Arrington, VA and is the publisher of Relix Magazine which also owns the website jambands.com. He also created Fare Thee Well, the 50th Anniversary Grateful Dead shows in 2015. Peter is also involved in a variety of non-profit organizations and sits on the Board of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Peter's new book documents his life in Live Music, from Wetlands Preserve in New York City in the 90s to the Brooklyn Bowls and what it means to put on over 10,000 shows throughout his illustrious career. Peter is that special brand of human that sees both the Big Picture as well as the all the little details that make shows special for both fans and performers alike. His vast imagination and enthusiasm coupled with his massive love of live music, performance and The Show is what makes Peter the most unique presence in Rock Music today.     Special Newport Folk Festival Series: Part 3 featuring Phil Cook, John Craigie and Nick Sanborn and Amelia Meath (Sylvan Esso) Aug 03, 2022

    Welcome back to Roadcase for the Final Installment of this special three-part Interview Series from Newport Folk Festival, which took place July 22-24 in Newport, Rhode Island!! For this last Newport episode, we're super pumped to have Phil Cook, John Craigie and Sylvan Esso (Nick Sanborn and Amelia Meath) join Roadcase for more EPIC interviews and intimate sit-downs. Day 3 promised to be another incredible day of music (and far less humidity) -- and as the day opened, festival goers were still buzzing about the appearance of Paul Simon the prior evening at a tribute set honoring his musical legacy. Our three guests on this last day are no strangers to the long tradition at Newport Folk of not only collaborations and honoring the careers of those who have provided music fans with so much joy, but also the spirit of new and up-and-coming artists who are playing Newport for the first time. Phil, John, Amelia and Nick talk to Josh about what Newport means to them, how the festival has shaped their careers and what live performance means to them.     Special Pitchfork Episode featuring Xenia Rubinos, Kaina, and Arooj Aftab Jul 21, 2022

    Welcome to Roadcase for this Special Episode where Josh takes it on the road to feature in-person interviews from the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago last weekend (July 15-17) with three amazing artists, Xenia Rubinos, Kaina and 2022 Grammy Award winner Arooj Aftab. All three of these extraordinary artists each performed amazing, not-to-be-missed sets at Pitchfork and all have super diverse and interesting backgrounds, which we explore in these short-format live interviews direct from the Pitchfork festival grounds. Even more interesting, all three women have unique stories to share with a common thread about how they arrived where they are today; Arooj is Brooklyn-based but grew up in Pakistan, and Kaina and Xenia are both first-generation Americans of immigrant parents, and all their unique musical journeys express a deep influence of these beautiful, multicultural traditions.     Corey Frye (The Main Squeeze) Jul 08, 2022

    Welcome to Roadcase!! We are so psyched to have Corey Frye, the main dude of The Main Squeeze, on the show. Corey is the lead vocalist and "tour guide" of this uber-cool and hard-working band which combines all the best elements Funk, Soul and Rock and Roll to take its fans on a unique musical ride. Having grown up in the Heartland of Indianapolis -- he now calls Los Angeles his home -- Corey has a deep appreciation for the hard work and dedication it takes to succeed in this business, but more importantly, having surrounded himself with a diverse group of musician friends, has demonstrated that it's really about the VIBE. The band's new album, To Be Determined, released April 1, combines all the best elements of each band member, and in doing so, artfully showcases the band's unique chemistry. Corey is enthusiastic and excited about doing what he does and what the future holds. He authentically enjoys spreading the love and is the embodiment of the concept of music as an emotion-based vehicle, not simply steeped in one genre... it's about energy and collaboration both onstage, and onto the audience.     Welcome to Roadcase!! We are uber-psyched to have Scott Hachey of the Magic Beans on the show. Scott is a total gem of a human, with an easy smile and a super positive attitude. Having been grinding it out on the road with the Beans for the better part of a decade, Scott is a seasoned veteran of the Road, but no amount of mileage can diminish Scott's zest for life and love of what he does best: melting faces with the Beans special brand of jam-inspired grooviness. Magic Beans also have a new album coming out on July 6, entitled Unzipped -- a collection of instrumental tunes sure to become your favorite summer vibe.
