Maya de Vitry May 09, 2022
    Show notes

Welcome to Roadcase!! We're super psyched to have Maya de Vitry with us for this episode. Maya's latest album -- her 3rd solo effort, Violet Light -- is a lovely folk/american album littered with amazing stories and intertwined with truths and insights about the human condition. Once Maya hit the road as a kid to busk her way across the country, she knew the road was the place she wanted to be -- and performing came naturally to her. Raina Mullen (Ghost Light) May 05, 2022
    Show notes

Welcome to Roadcase!! We're so psyched to have uber-cool Raina Mullen on the show. Raina plays ripping guitar and lends her stellar vocals to Ghost Light, a relatively new jam band on the scene with their super compelling 2019 debut album, Best Kept Secrets. Proudly taking on the mantle of role model for women who rock, Raina, one of a fairly small club of women artist in the jam band community, relishes her position and seeks to inspire young female performers to push the limits of their musical abilities. Having met her bandmate Tom Hamilton while working at the famous jam-band nexus Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY, Raina went on to join Tom with his American Babies project and now stands shoulder to shoulder onstage with her mentor in Ghost Light. It is a compelling combination of musical talents and fearless improvisation capabilities -- a quality that is equally distributed throughout all members of this amazing band. So hop aboard the Roadcase bus for this journey through time and space with Raina Mullen. It's gonna be a great ride!

Corey McCormick (Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real) Apr 22, 2022
    Show notes

Welcome to Roadcase!! We are so incredibly psyched to present the one and only Corey McCormick for this episode. Corey has been playing bass in Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real since 2010, and has also played with Chris Cornell, Koshi Inaba, Neil Young and Willie Nelson. With a career that has now spanned over two decades, Corey, who is also a father of two young boys, has literally done it all -- and is extremely grateful for the amazing experiences he has encountered in his life as a touring musician. His dedication is also extraordinary; Corey studied Music Performance at Long Beach State before embarking on his journey and continues to work extremely hard at his craft. Ash Reiter (Sugar Candy Mountain) Apr 20, 2022
    Show notes

Welcome to Roadcase!! We're extra-hyped to have Ash Reiter of Sugar Candy Mountain on this special 4/20 edition of the show. As an appropriate acknowledgement to today's date, Ash, along with her husband and musical partner, Will Halsey, are together the driving force behind this trippy, space-age psychedelic pop band that will melt your soul as well as your mind. While the vibe sounds recalls acid-soaked Beatles and Tame Impala, the impetus is more about the infinite possibilities of the creative mind. It's also about the tonal and overall musical surprises more than achieving a level of psychedelia as an end in itself. While the mood is trippy and fun, the music is superbly crafted with lovely, singable melodies. The duo are also parents of young children and Ash is looking forward to taking the entire family on the road starting in May. Their latest album, Impression, is more evidence of their wide-ranging musical influences (Brazilian band, Os Mutantes, for example) as well as the sweeping and lush soundscapes of their psychedelic-influenced vibes. So hop on the Roadcase Bus and learn more about Ash Reiter -- the Mom and musician. It's gonna be a great ride!

Jenn is the uber-talented and incredibly charming artist responsible for Flock of Dimes and Wye Oak, and also performs on the road with Bon Iver. Jenn is philosophical and exploratory while at the same time, keeping true to herself... it's all one can really do! It is an exquisite example of an artist finding their way in a very difficult world, and in Jenn's case, the outcome is quite stunning.
