    241. Heartshare: Don't Be a Fixer Jul 22, 2025
    Show notes

In this solocast I talk about how being a fixer can be detrimental in some relationship dynamics. The idea of "stop being a fixer" in relationships refers to avoiding the role of trying to change, rescue, or "fix" your partner's behaviors, emotions, or life circumstances. The mindset often stems from a well-meaning desire to help but can lead to unhealthy dynamics.

    239. Heartshare: Relationships as a Spiritual Path Jun 24, 2025
    Show notes

In this solocast I talk about how focusing on your primary relationship to create a ripple effect of thriving in other areas of your life is about nurturing that bond with intention, presence, and care. By tending to your primary relationship with intentional acts, you're building a foundation of love and trust that makes everything else feel possible. That is why relationships can be viewed as a spiritual path. It can be a beautiful, messy, and deeply transformative journey—one that mirrors a quest for meaning, connection, and growth at the heart of spirituality.

    238. - Emotional Intelligence! Jun 10, 2025
    Show notes

Emma Olyff is passionate about artistry, personal development, and spiritual practices. Eight years ago, she founded Emwa Jewelry, a high-end brand where she creates collections, custom designs, and leads workshops. Alongside her work as a jewelry artist, she has also become a business coach. In both fields, she weaves together embodiment, practical tools, and spiritual wisdom—offering a grounded, holistic approach to creation and growth. I am so so grateful to have her in my life as my Daughter-in-love.

In this episode, Emma and I have a conversation about emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence (EI) in relationships refers to the ability to recognize, understand, and manage one's own emotions while also being attuned to and empathetic toward a partner's feelings. It's a critical factor in building and maintaining healthy, fulfilling relationships. Some of the key factors of emotional intelligence that we discuss are self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, social skills, motivation, trust, and safety, to name a few.

    237. Heartshare: You Get What You Expect in Relationships May 27, 2025
    Show notes

In this solocast I talk about how you get what you expect in relationships. Expectations in relationships are a double-edged sword because they can both guide and undermine connection. On one hand, clear expectations set standards for respect, communication, and mutual effort, creating a framework for trust and stability. For example, expecting honesty or support fosters accountability and helps partners align their actions. On the other hand, unrealistic or unspoken expectations can breed resentment and misunderstanding. I emphasize how having positive expectations of your partner and relationship is actually a good thing!

    236. Mind Reading in Relationships May 13, 2025
    Show notes

Corey Costanzo is the Co-Owner of Asheville's Still Point Wellness Spa, a licensed addiction counselor, trauma specialist, licensed massage therapist, master didgeridoo player, colleague, and my good friend.

In this episode, Corey and I have a conversation about mind reading. Mind reading is a cognitive distortion where individuals believe they can accurately guess or know what others are thinking or feeling without direct communication. In relationships, this often involves making assumptions about a partner's thoughts, feelings, or intentions based on minimal or ambiguous cues. Attunement is different than mind reading, which we elaborate on.

    235. Don't Lose Yourself in Your Relationships Apr 29, 2025
    Show notes

Yvonne Rainbow Teplitsky is the founder of Artsy Goddess Studio, where she actively carries out her role in helping others and the planet heal. Rainbow is passionate about art, as seen in the upcycled clothing she creates from second-hand materials, as well as the visual arts she creates, such as murals, paintings, and tapestries. She also helps women transform through voice-empowering workshops, and she co-facilitates couples retreats and workshops with me.

Not losing yourself in a relationship is about maintaining your autonomy, self-worth, and unique identity while building a shared life with someone. It's the art of "we" without letting the "me" fade away. Staying true to yourself ensures you remain a whole, fulfilled person, which ultimately strengthens the relationship by fostering mutual respect and authenticity.

    234. HeartShare: Asking for What You Want and Need Apr 15, 2025
    Show notes

In this solocast I talk about asking for what we want and need in our relationships. It can be tricky, but it's about clear communication and mutual respect. It's also about building a dynamic where both of you feel safe, heard, and willing to stretch for each other. The deep wants always have a "root," and it is very good to identify it. So, what's the toughest thing you've held back from asking?
