    Relationships Let’s Talk About It!

Hosted by Pripo Teplitsky, LCMHC, a psychotherapist specializing in relationship issues. Through the experience of relationships, we get to see and understand ourselves in ways we can’t do alone. Whether it be with our partners, family, friends, co-workers, or neighbors, these relationships shape our level of happiness and contentment in life. This conversational podcast takes a casual approach to deep and personal topics. Pripo and his guests are not afraid to bring a little humor into their discussions (or his solocasts) and share intimate details about their lives and relationships. For anyone with questions, concerns, or just plain curiosity about relationships, this is the perfect podcast for you.

    223. Communication Tools for Satisfying Relationships Nov 05, 2024
    Show notes

Corey Costanzo is the Co-Owner of Asheville's Still Point Wellness Spa, a licensed addiction counselor, trauma specialist, licensed massage therapist, master didgeridoo player, colleague, and my good friend.

In this episode, Corey and I have a conversation about healthy communication tools. Most of us didn't learn healthy ways of communicating and resolving conflict in our families. Some families never talk about problems, while others might be explosive. We bring these styles into our relationships thinking they are normal and then feel sad and angry when they engender a negative response. Coret and I share what tools use in our personal relationships as well as those that we help guide our clients.

    222. Heartshare: My Experience with Hurricane Helene and the Importance Good Relationships Oct 22, 2024
    Show notes

In this solocast I talk about my recent experience and observations during Hurricane Helene's devastation that hit Western North Carolina and the Southeast. For those of you not local, Hurricane Helene swept through the Appalachian mountains, bringing two days of relentless rain (32 inches at my house) and strong winds. The storm saturated the earth, causing historic flooding and leaving unimaginable damage and devastation in its wake. Since September 29th, the destruction of our community has left many devasted with unimaginable loss.

In the wake of this tragedy, there was and is beauty. The beauty of communities far and wide coming to aid and help one another. It has been so heartwarming to see humans helping other humans so selflessly. It solidified my deep belief in creating and fostering good, close, and caring relationships within our communities and neighborhoods. We need to have eachothers' back!

If you are moved to help by donating to the recovery, here are a few organizations:

    Aerial Recovery

    World Central Kitchen

    Beloved Asheville

    Samaritan's Purse

First-person local account of the hurricane

Local radio interview a few miles from my house

Fly over video Chimney Rock, NC

Video from a few miles from my house

4 minute gratitude-guided meditation that keeps me sane
