"I'm an emotional person," says actor/comedian Michael Rapaport. If you've seen him on TV and movies - Friends, Black-ish, Louie, Atypical, Mighty Aphrodite - you may know this.

Michael stopped by the studio in 2018 and revealed all sorts of reasons he gets emotional. It's a classic #ReallyFamous episode.

Listen in - and buckle up! - for his thoughts on acting, sports, teenage boys, divorce, therapy and more.

Warning: Michael's not a clean-language kind of guy.

Michael Imperioli - Big New Interview Live in New York Mar 09, 2020

Show notes

Michael Imperioli is back for a 3rd time on Really Famous. This time we did it in front of an audience of friends, family and fans of Really Famous and Michael. It was A BLAST. I loved it. There's a lot to explain, and I do it in the intro. Enjoy.

Here, a sample of interesting things Michael says during the show:

"I got really addicted to the news. Then at some point I realized, 'Oh wow…they really want you to be addicted. They're a business. They want you to sit there as long as possible.'"
"I question all those things. I don't know. It disturbs me."
"I open doors for women. If someone has a problem with it and they tell me, then I won't do it anymore. And that's ok."
"Talking about my career ... I've done that a lot of times, but actually going somewhere and talking about how we view the world is really interesting and engaging."
"I don't like looking back so much. I really like looking forward. Like if I'm on a train facing the wrong way, I'll get sick."
"David Chase actually said he doesn't think there would be The Sopranos if there wasn't Goodfellas."
"As important as your relationship with your teacher is, the relationships you make with people of like mind is very important."

We talk about so much. It's real. Join us.

Daisy Fuentes Jan 07, 2020

Show notes

I'm kicking off 2020 with a guest who inspires me – and I think will inspire you. I love her perspective, approach to life, insight and authenticity.

Daisy is the host of a new TV show on NBC called A New Leaf, sponsored by Ancestry.com with executive producer Robin Samuels.

Back in the day, Daisy was a hugely popular MTV VJ. Ever since, she's been all over television. She was the host of House of Style, America's Funniest Home Videos, Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, her own CNBC talk show called Daisy ... I can go on and on.

Daisy has had an extraordinary life trajectory. She started as a model, accidentally scored a last-minute gig presenting the weather on Telemundo, and pretty much everything blew up from there. We talk about all that, and more.

Like:

ancestry and DNA testing (hers, mine + other people's)
how she learned to take advantage of opportunties
becoming a successful entrepreneur
making her parents proud
fame
social media (really nice fan interactions vs. trolls)
how Martha Quinn set her up with Richard Marx
her dating + marriage story with husband Richard Marx
the universe's little messages
the law of attraction
how she envisioned her life, and what actually happened
fear
love
family
New Jersey

Check your local listings for A New Leaf.

Marilu Henner Dec 09, 2019

Show notes

Marilu Henner (Taxi, Evening Shade, Grease, Chicago) and I talk a mile a minute about EVERYTHING, from her incredible memory (it's called HSAM, or highly superior autobiographical memory) to party games to family to dating John Travolta and a few Taxi co-stars.

Such fun!

We crossed paths in New York City for just a few hours, so we went for it! On a recent Saturday night, we got together and knew our willingness (on both sides) to do this on the fly, between flights to and from Los Angeles, was a sign we'd have a really cool conversation. And we did.

Enjoy!

James Burrows Nov 25, 2019

Show notes

James Burrows, possibly the most iconic, respected and talented television directors of all time, is in the building! Actually, I'm in HIS building, aka the NBC/Universal lot, aka the set of Will & Grace.

You know James, aka Jimmy, aka Jim, from these TV shows:

Cheers
Taxi
Friends
Will and Grace
The Mary Tyler Moore Show
Man with a Plan
Mike & Molly
2 Broke Girls
The Big Bang Theory
The Millers
Newsradio
Wings
The Hogan Family
Gary Unmarried
Rhoda
Lou Grant
The Bob Newhart Show
Laverne & Shirley
The Comeback

Jim is now a guest on the iconic interview series Inside the Actors Studio. He's interviewed by his Cheers and Frasier star and longtime friend Kelsey Grammer. I saw it being filmed. You can see it on Ovation TV.

Catch it here: https://www.ovationtv.com/inside-the-actors-studio/

In this master class, Jim breaks down his iconic TV series. You'll get inside scoop. You'll learn a lot. You'll be in awe of him, I think -- just as I am.

He shares stories on:

Playing "Hey, Butt Double" on Friends
Characters we've never seen, like:
- Vera on Cheers
- Maris on Frasier
- Lars on The Mary Tyler Moore Show
- Carlton the Doorman on Rhoda
