    ¿Quién Tú Eres?

Most people think professionalism is about fitting in, but what if it’s actually the reason we feel disconnected from ourselves?

This podcast explores the tension between who we are and who we feel pressured to be at work, in relationships, and in everyday life.

Through candid conversations, we unpack how different environments shape our behavior, how limiting beliefs form, and what it looks like to actually understand yourself beyond the roles you play.

Victoria is a first generation Puerto Rican/Honduran Latina living as a transplant on the West Coast and pursuing her ancestors’ dreams of thriving in “corporate” America. She’s been described as a fierce champion, connector, and advocate for people in underserved communities.

Currently, she serves as a Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Project Manager at Facebook. Victoria has spent the bulk of her career focused on scaling teams and programs aimed at hiring and developing diverse talent – everywhere from promising startups with just 10 employees to companies operating at scale at 50K+.

Most often, she can be found at the nearest local coffee shop, spending time exploring nature with her partner and dogs, or deep conditioning her crown of curls.

Driven by the dream that Latinos will one day soon truly belong to themselves – even in the workplace, she joins us to cover what authenticity really means to her.

Hector Castillo Carvajal, founder of Don Carvajal Café, is a 23-year old Afro-Latino entrepreneur on a mission to reimagine the specialty coffee market. He was born on a small farm in the Dominican Republic and returned there often while growing up in the Bronx, an experience that gave him a unique perspective on the coffee supply chain. After pursuing his education at CUNY-Guttman and the University of Rochester, Hector has returned to the Bronx to build a coffee business model that is both fair to producers and inclusive to consumers. In just two years, he’s taken the brand from operating out of a dorm room to a city-wide distribution network that roasts 500 pounds of beans each week.

A San Diego native with a laugh as big as her hair. These are just a few things we would use to describe our Founder and Host of The Wine & Chisme Podcast, Jessica Yañez. But that’s just the beginning.

Jessica grew up in the suburbs of San Diego and has always had a curiosity for other people and their stories. As far back as she can remember, she would be the first to approach a new student at school, introduce herself, and want to know all about them. Not much has changed as her curiosity has lent itself well to learning more about the world around her.

She specifically created the podcast to amplify the voices of those from the BIPOC community to share their stories on career, love, life and more. All while sipping on a glass of wine.

Ruben Harris is a Bay Area transplant from Atlanta, Georgia. As he mentioned in the clip, he bought a one-way ticket from Atlanta…moved to San Francisco without a job or any experience in tech and landed a position (in Partnerships and Sales) 3 weeks later. He documented this whole experience in viral blog post called Breaking Into Startups.

After receiving thousands of e-mails asking how to break into tech, Ruben Co-Founded the Breaking Into Startups Podcast to demystify the process, resulting in a social media reach of ~3 million people, 200,000+ downloads, 10,000+ website visits per month, over 100+ reviews on iTunes, a Facebook Community of 10,000+ people, and invitations to be a Contributor for TechCrunch and Black Enterprise.

These days, he’s the CEO of Career Karma…which is the easiest way to find a job training program online. Career Karma helps over 1 million workers navigate their careers every month through advice and coaching. By offering free coaching and peer mentorship, Career Karma has grown to over 150,000 members from every background and profession. They already closed a $10M Series A funding round, and this is clearly just the beginning.

Fun fact: Ruben has been playing the cello for ~25 years. He has taught music, performed in venues all over the world - including Carnegie Hall, and landed placements from Def Jam.
