He said in that moment that his life wouldn’t change that much. Jake asks him how much it has changed if at all. He talks about managing his kids racing careers, how much he keeps up with racing and if he misses it. Also, what is the hardest turn at IMS? He answers some funny rapid fire questions from Jake.

    Countdown to race day continues, Buddy Rice & Christian Rasmussen join! May 20, 2026

    (00:00-29:25) – Jake is back after spending yesterday at the rookie celebration and opens by wanting to embrace the rain happening right now and hope it goes away. He then explains why Buddy Rice is perfect to have on the program today due to the weather. Then, Jake reflects on the rookie luncheon yesterday and the milking of the cow tradition. He touches on Caitlin Clark having a “Beatles-like” feel, and how Pato O’Ward has the same type of crowd that follows him. Jake tries to make sense of why people feel the connection to Pato.

    (29:26-37:58) – Jake gives away some more numbers in his Indy 500 numbers game!

    (37:58-45:30) – Jake gives his take on where the Fever stand through four games and why the perimeter defense is still a question mark before their game tonight.

    (00:00-23:28) – Greg Rakestraw opens the show by pointing out Jake is at the rookie celebration before calling this the “receding hairline” version of the show with Caleb filling in for Eddie. He previews the guests lined up for the show before a discussion on Indianapolis being ranked as the third best sports business city. He talks about how Indy has become the epicenter of sports in a lot of ways. How should Pacers fans feel after watching the Spurs and Thunder play last night? How do they stack up the teams in the western conference?

    (23:29-40:32) – Greg touches on an ad he heard while doing qualifying this weekend and how it relates to JMV’s show and how young the San Antonio Spurs starting lineup is. Then, he gets into the Colts schedule to release video and commends the Colts for poking fun at themselves.

How is Caitlin Clark playing, his thoughts on game 1 of the Western Conference Finals last night and how the Pacers could matchup with each of them. Who could be targeted in the offseason for the Pacers or will they stand pat? Greg runs through the responsibilities of everyone in the 500.

    (00:00-27:31) – Jake opens Monday's show by reflecting on Indy 500 qualifying and how good it was to see so many people at the track in a jam-packed Sunday of qualifying. He explains the post-race dequalifications of Caio Collett and Jack Harvey and why it's a safety percaution that was inadvertently violated. Then, Jake explains what the prizes will be for this year's numbers game.

    (27:31-39:47) Jake teased why we should appreciate what we are seeing from Alex Palou before the last segment ended. He explains why his skillset is something to marvel at and where it started for him as he started racing in Japan years ago.
