Daily Puck Drop: Seahawks / 49ers Preview Uchenna Nwosu out 6-10 weeks? . Guests: Mike Garafolo, NFL Network. John Lund, KNBR, 49ers Pre/Post-Game host. Andy Bunker, 92.9 The Game "Hey, What the Puck!?" Oct 10, 2024
    Show notes

On today’s Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett starts off the show discussing tonight’s Thursday Night game between the Seahawks and 49ers. The betting public is behind the Niners. Seattle is 1-4 against the spread this season and 49ers QB Brock Purdy is 7-1 ATS when it’s four points or less. The 49ers are favored by 3.5.

Mike Garafolo, NFL Network joins the show to preview tonight’s Seahawks and 49ers game. Who needs the game more, San Francisco or Seattle? Puck and Mike disagree.

Garafolo gives the very latest on the injury situation with Uchenna Nwosu. Mike is hearing that he will be out 6-10 weeks.

What is going on with Abe Lucas? Mike has an update on the Seahawks starting right tackle.

Could Christian McCaffrey’s season and career be over? Mike says there is a chance.

Lastly, where does Bill Belichick end up next season? What about a reunion with the New York Jets?

Puck’s LIVE feed cuts out, but was able to get back up and running after a short hiatus.

John Lund, KNBR in San Francisco, who hosts an afternoon sports show and is the 49ers Pre/Post-Game Show host joined Puck to preview the game tonight. Both teams are banged up, so whoever can whether the injury front the better will most likely win.

Lund said that the 49ers receivers have really struggled in man coverage this year, especially Deebo Samuel, who Lund said has “sucked this year” and it has put Brock Purdy in a bad position. He has consistently been leaving the pocket to avoid pressure and give his receivers more time to get open but in doing so he’s been taking unnecessary hits in the process .

San Francisco has problems on the defensive line and it’s probably an area where Seattle will attack. What’s the future of Christian McCaffrey? The outlook doesn’t sound good.

Puck wraps up the show with Andy Bunker, from 92.9 The Game, for “Hey, What the Puck!?” Andy and his wife are raising money for Hurricane Helene release that devastated the Carolina’s, where Andy’s wife is from. Andy and Puck worked together at KJR in Seattle. Andy went to high school at Franklin and went to UW.

50:05 John Lund, KNBR, talk show host and 49ers pre/post-game show host on tonights game. Who has the advantage. Seattle should attack their depleted secondary. Deebo Samuel has sucked. Brock Purdy is leaving the pocket too much. The 49ers window is closing?

1:30:05 Puck wraps up the show with Andy Bunker, from 92.9 The Game, for “Hey, What the Puck!?” Andy and his wife are raising money for Hurricane Helene release that devastated the Carolina’s, where Andy’s wife is from. Mike Garafolo Show: Nwosu out 6-10 weeks? More of a must win for Seahawks or 49ers? Oct 10, 2024

Opponent Preview: John Lund, KNBR. "Deebo Samuel sucks" Oct 10, 2024
    Show notes

John Lund, KNBR, hosts sports talk show and is the pre and post-game show host the the San Francisco 49ers, joins the show to talk about the Thursday night matchup between the Niners and Seahawks.

Puck and Lund worked together back in the early 2000’s in Portland at 910 The Fan.

Both teams are dealing with injuries and both teams understand how important the game is tonight. The loser will have an uphill climb to make the playoffs.

San Francisco has had trouble with man to man coverage and their receivers not winning those battles, something John said will be a key tonight against Seattle. Another key will be can the Seahawks move the ball on the ground, something that Arizona was able to do last week against the 49ers.

Brock Purdy has had the Seahawks number, but has struggled a bit this season. John tells Puck that he’s had a habit of leaving the pocket early and taking too many unnecessary hits.

Lastly, John wonders if the Niners have put too much emphasis on this game tonight and if they lose how much does it affect the rest of the season?
