Dalene Bartholomew, Vice President of VRC Investigations talks about the risks, rewards and getting positive results of strategic business partnerships. She explains how organizations utilize outsourcing of service providers to reach their goals. Specifically for the insurance industry, the team is built around their staff so outsourcing service providers builds value, and by leveraging its advantages and flexibility becomes vital for strategy. By outsourcing a variety of providers it allows insurance to focus on their competencies. Some examples of service providers frequently utilized are third party administrators, medical bill review services, defense council, investigation agencies, copy services, MSA arrangements, and continuing education. Dalene breaks down the difference between vendors and business partnerships, the positives and negatives of multi-partner models and preferred vendor relationships, the five points why preferred vendor relationships are on the rise as well as the solution to balance out the pros and cons is by creating a core of providers but keeping the process open. She provides her top three tips for an organization to get create mutually beneficial out relationships: Clarity around goals, mutual commitment Communication that’s frequent, transparent and collaborative Selecting the right provider and the best long term

The speaker is Nilesh Mehta Nilesh Mehta, Founder/CEO of Independent Bridge Consulting, talks about the non-partisan issue of monopolies, such as inflation, less innovation as well as a widening wealth gap. He shares the numerous opportunities to create wealth if the government would provide additional support for black, women and veteran-owned businesses. Looking ahead at the next twenty years, Nilesh describes the benefits of strengthening communities at the grassroots level as well as the detrimental effects if small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) continue to remain vulnerable and put under stress. SMB makeup 97%, therefore their stress is shared directly with their local communities’ tax base and infrastructure. Anatomy Of A Lawsuit Scott Roloff is the President of Integer Health Technologies. Starting as a CPA then a Lawyer, first as a tax lawyer before switching to corporate law. At Integer Health Technologies, a healthcare analytics company, their primary focus is to measure the return on healthcare costs, quantifying healthcare outcomes. He explains the ins and outs of lawsuits and how in some fashion lawsuits will touch everyone’s life; whether summoned as a juror, giving a testimony, or involved in a lawsuit themselves. He describes how a lawsuit begins with a complaint, and the best means of avoiding one as the best lawsuits are the ones that don’t happen due to their costs and complexities.
