    While most travel plans may have been canceled this year, we have a special episode to get you excited for a future adventure and education! On this episode of GRADitude, we are joined by PT's Jay and Randal, two of the JetSet Rehab Education members.     Ep. 194: Combating Burnout Nov 15, 2020

    In this special episode of GRADitude, Sarah and Gabby discuss when it happened to them and their experiences handling it. First, they define burnout, a loss of meaning in one's work coupled with physical and mental exhaustion as a result of unresolved stress. Both Sarah and Gabby discuss their first experience with burnout which started during their first semester in PT school during midterms. Gabby also touches on how she's been handling burnout during this time of COVID-19. When dealing with burnout, they recommend verbalizing your issues with a closed loved one and doing self-care tasks such as taking a day trip or doing things you find fulfilling so that you can re-energize. After an exciting 2-year trip to Asia, Melody shares her exciting stories, including getting licensed as a yoga instructor in India and a Thai massage therapist in Thailand. Despite her initial plan of a 1-year trip, she discusses the important takeaways of her time abroad and the perspective she gained through her experience between two different cultures. After overcoming the difficulties of getting into PT school to navigating the reality of grad school, Melody talks about all the best tips and practices that help her manage her work-life balance. Keeping both mental and physical health in mind, she emphasizes of the importance of making time for our loved ones and staying consistent in our practices and efforts. Despite the overwhelming and stressful events that come up, Melody also points out the importance of giving ourselves credit where credit is due.
