    Preschool All Stars

As mothers who need to add money to the family budget, we thought we only had two options. Get a job and put our kids in daycare, or start a home daycare.

But what if there was a third option…

A better way that would allow you to create a consistent income AND make a difference in children’s lives… and still stay home with your kids?

I’m Joy Anderson and this is the Preschool All Stars podcast where I’m going to share exactly how myself and thousands of other moms have created successful preschools, so you can do the same.

    Show notes

If you’re struggling to find your purpose in life, you’ll gain strength hearing today’s Preschool All Stars story: Becki Reed was a dyslexic mom of 5 (who never considered herself a "Teacher") and decided to team up with another mom to create a thriving preschool!

After 3 years, she and her partner were able to expand, hire another teacher, and build their own curriculum. They were the first people in Joy's "Inner Circle," which taught them to value what they offer, and got them on track with fundraising and their financials.

After Covid hit, they decided to close and go their separate ways. But with the confidence she has gained from not only teaching but running her own preschool, Becki has plans to start a program for kids struggling with dyslexia. After finally getting a diagnosis for dyslexia as an adult, she feels this is her new calling.

(Musically Minded) Engage Preschoolers at Circle Time - with Jocelyn Manzanarez Feb 02, 2021
    Show notes

If your circle times are chaotic and loud, and you find yourself drained and giving up, listen in for today’s tips on how to engage preschoolers at circle time! Circle time requires two things: 1) All the children gathered in one place and 2) All the children focused on one task. But you’re working with 3-5 year olds! Is that even possible?

With Jocelyn Manzanarez’s techniques it is possible! Jocelyn is the owner of Musically Minded and she has been perfecting her skills in engaging preschoolers for about 20 years. Using a variety of activities, Jocelyn teaches how to involve children in circle time by activating several of their senses at once, alternating between sitting and movement, and making each child feel like they belong in your class, at your circle time, with friends who love and care for them.

A child’s brain needs a lot of oxygen and they get that through movement. A large part of having engaging circle times is giving the children something to do. From finger plays, to instrument play, to stories, and so much more, listen as Jocelyn imparts her vast wealth of knowledge on the who, what, when, where, why, and how of an engaging circle time.

    Key takeaways

    • Jocelyn Manzanarez’s background and experience (00:00)
    • The most important thing you can do to ensure an engaging circle time. (2:10)

    • One thing you should not do during circle time—or any time you teach! (9:00)

(PAS) Make More Money Than a Certified Teacher When You Start a Preschool - with Bethany Johnson Jan 28, 2021
    Show notes

If you’re a certified teacher and you want to be your own boss and make more money than you can in the district, you should start a preschool!

Bethany Johnson really wanted to be a stay at home mom, but she really wanted to have more of an identity than only being a mom and she also really wanted to have her own income. She was torn between both worlds. But the one thing she knew for sure was she was dissatisfied with her job teaching 1st and 2nd grades for the local school district. She wanted the freedom to be able to teach the way she wanted to teach. So, she decided to quit her job and start a preschool.

Having committed to one more year with the district, she read, and researched, and set up her preschool room just right, she got her preschool license and printed out hundreds of advertising flyers gearing up for her Open House in March of 2020—the week that Covid hit.

Really discouraged by this turn of events, but not willing to give up, she joined Joy Anderson’s training and learned how to teach online. Fast forward to now and she is teaching full classes of both online and local preschool and is making more money than he did working for the school district—working fewer hours!
